My problem with the ROH title is the same guys always seem to get shots at the title, no matter who the champion is. Morishima winning the title in his second match was bullshit. Never really saw what there was to hate about Cena. The guy had good matches month after month as champ, and I don't see who he held down or buried

1995 is so bad that I could barely finish watching it. At least 2006 attempts to tell a story, and has a great finish. Plus the intervals aren't one minute long
-
Stop starting threads n00bs! 2006 is a horrible Rumble, but as everyone else has said, 1999 and 1995 are much worse

The Happening did not rock IIRC

Haha, I just remember when War of the Worlds came out, people bitched about the ending. The ending to War, starring Jet Li and Jason Statham, was awesome
-
Tiger chucking his club= awesome

Oh, I Know Who Killed Me was horrible, but I freely admit that my friend and I loved sitting there and experiencing it. There were moments in The Happening where I thought the movie had redeemed itself, but then they kept running from plants

I might watch the basketball, if only to laugh at the US losing. Baseball doesn't interest me since it's all minor leaguers. I guess the earthquake killed all the China controversy

JohnnyBlaze starts a lot of topics. I don't like the Summer Olympics- too many sports, most of which I do not care about. I like the Winter Games better

The WWE title is absolutely treated with prestige. Look at how long Cena and Orton's reigns were, and every match they had showed that both champions would do anything to win. Ever since Cena jumped to RAW, they've done an excellent job booking the WWE title. Calling No Mercy a debacle is incorrect given how awesome the main event was, and how good the buyrate was. I don't blame them for the three title changes in one night, they had to give the fans something noteworthy to make up for the main event being cancelled 5 days before the show.

If M. Night meant to make a legit good movie, would that change your opinion? My main issue with the movie, besides the horrible acting, plot and dialogue, was that the movie did a good job of building tension, but it never actually built to anything. You kept waiting for something to happen, and then Mark Wahlberg apologised to a crazy old lady.

Have to disagree with mole. I think Get Smart is headed for a 30-35 million opening, which is about what Evan Almighty did last summer. Love Guru is too unproven. The movie is totally being sold on Myers' name, and he hasn't appeared on screen in five years. Adjusted for inflation, Austin Powers, his last unproven movie, opened to 14 million adjusted for inflation. Factoring in Myers' increased starpower, and the competition, I'd say it will do in the low 20s. The two comedies facing off is basically because neither studio wanted to blink, and there really wasn't many available weekends. So, it was supposed to be terrible?

It also has a few weeks to rule the box office until Hancock comes in. The 15 percent Friday to Saturday fall gives some pause though
-
Happening's 21 percent fall from Friday to Saturday is a bad sign. While Panda did well in its second week, cartoons generally don't fall as much as 43 percent in week two. Hulk did fine, but I know the tracking had it doing 60-65 million.

Who is your wrestling hero and have you ever met him?
bob_barron replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
I never met the Bulldog, but I've met Regal a few times. He was hilarious at an autograph signing I went to, we were both cracking each other up. I also met Benoit, back in 2001. I went up to him and held up the 4 fingers and told him I was 4 Horsemen for life. He went: Yeaaa that's the way to be. He then shook my hand, and I wished him luck in his title match at King of the Ring. Then he killed his son with his finishing move. That was unfortunate. -
What an awful movie, 91 pointless minutes. It was really funny though.

I kind of liked Anvil allowing all of HBK's interference, but getting the ultimate FU on them in the end by costing them the title.

Don't give me a heart attack, The Truthiness.

Finding out that Michael Hayes was on double secret probation made me laugh

Ever felt like you just can't get the right job?

Your newspaper situation sounds a lot like the paper I worked at upon graduating college. Just a mess. I left in March and am now working for another paper. It doesn't pay as much, but I get a gas card and it's a lot more fun -
That was a dark day when Mr. Skin noticed

I don't care for MMA, and just don't see why it's in a wrestling newsletter. It's especially annoying when it's the top story and you get pages and pages of MMA. He does a lot of Japan coverage, I feel. I understand the lack of indie coverage, there's only so much he can cover. I do like that he spotlights ROH when they run a big show.

That sucks. I always enjoyed his work

As a wrestling fan I'm a bit perturbed that Meltzer will now put wrestling things aside (such as updating WO.com, but that's no longer an issue) to go attend MMA events but I don't think he goes to wrestling when they run at the Cow Palace or around there... I know he did once recently, but it seems to me he usually skips it. It just says to me that his heart is with MMA now which I guess is great if you're an MMA fan. That's his business though. The coverage of ONS seemed subpar because he was at the WEC show. He should just do a seperate MMA newsletter, since I wonder if a lot of people, like me, usually just skim through the MMA notes
