  1. Tuesday's Box Office is out- Batman Begins fell about 19% from Monday to Tuesday, while Perfect Man rose 1%. Of course yesterday was the last day for Perfect Man to make any money, so it's all meaningless anyway. Other summer blockbusters Monday to Tuesday drops: Mr. and Mrs. Smith: 13% Star Wars: 31% Harry Potter: 14% I-Robot: 13% Bourne Supremacy: 7% Although it's hard to compare b/c of the Wednesday opening, in their 7th day of releases: Batman Begins has 84 million Batman and Robin had 59 Batman Forever had 77 Batman Returns had 71 Batman had 70
  2. Not really. People might have heard of ROH but I don't think a lot of WWE fans know much about it. Punk doing anything with the title on WWE TV wouldn't accomplish anything. Punk is working on their next show, and I assume an arrangement has been made between WWE and Punk over the indy dates he can work. They let London work DBD and they let Eddy work an ROH show after he'd won the I-C title. Actually, Punk had been feuding with Gen Next for quite sometime, and had two previous matches with Aries. Aries also defended the belt an ungodly amount of times, and was going into the match with a badly injured neck. He was ripe for the picking. Punk is working the NY doubleshot and who knows where they go from here. Obviously an arrangement has been made with Punk and WWE.
  3. Wedding angles are awesome. Don't hate.
  4. They didn't nominate the two best quotes from Pulp Fiction.
  5. Cena just did have a great brawl with JBL and he's had some matches I really enjoyed. I'm most looking forward to the 3-way, I think it could be a sleeper.

    NBA Finals

    That was Game 4
  7. Anyone know where I can get the complete list?
  8. No one is saying that either. Just that the opening was disappointing. I'm seeing Perfect Man again on Thursday, and I'll try to check out Batman this weekend.
  9. No one is talking about the quality of the Bat films SP, so I don't see why you are getting so uptight about it. I'm just saying BB hasn't done that great at the box office. No need to be so pissy
  10. Batman Begins opened on a Wednesday, which the other Batman's didn't. Also ajusted for inflation, except for maybe Batman and Robin, the numbers easily beat BB.
  11. I didn't like the way everything went down at DBD 3, and still don't but I'm looking forward to going to the NY doubleshot in July. Punk's going to get unbelieveable heel heat. I hope I can get by the entranceway so I can curse him out.
  12. Fantastic Four just looks really stupid, I think War of the Worlds is going to destroy it.
  13. People want to know whether Batman Begins will have good legs, looking at how it does midweek is a good indicator of that. That's why I also showed how it's drop was compared to other summer movies.
  14. I still don't get how Penny Hardaway is on your list.
  15. Monday's Box Office is out- Batman Begins fell about 58% from Sunday to Monday, while Perfect Man dropped 33%. Other summer blockbusters Sunday to Monday drops: Mr. and Mrs. Smith: 56% Star Wars: 58% Harry Potter: 65% I-Robot: 57% Bourne Supremacy: 56%
  16. It wouldn't surprise me though. Marketing budgets are never fully released though. I'm not debating the quality of any Batman movies, I've only seen one. I'm just saying that box-office wise, it didn't do as well as the other four. I don't think it was a stretch to expect the movie to be in the 80s or possibly break the 90s. It was supposed to be the movie that finally got the box office out of its slump, and it didn't. Well Batman and Robin would've been a disaster no matter how you slice it. I think WB should've at least done something to establish the villains. I want to see Batman, but again, I just don't have the anticipation I had like I did for other event movies.
  17. I don't see the problem with debating whether a 70 mil opening is a disappointment. If Batman doesn't hold up, this could mean less money for the sequels. They don't really tell you who the villains even are in the ads. I think they're doing a sequel, but it won't have Katie Holmes.
  18. Penny Hardaway? I love Penny and all but the guy hasn't started a whole season since 1996
  19. Robot Jerk is really bad at arguing this. The thread is about the weekend box office, of which The Perfect Man was a part of. No one is stopping you from discussing anything else
  20. That's why the list was of the top 5 day grosses, not EVERY 5 day gross. No one is saying Batman Begins bombed, but that it's opening was underwhelming and maybe slightly disappointing.
  21. How does that in anyway help your point?
  22. Yep, since those movies didn't open on a Wednesday like BB begin, so comparing the 3-day gross is the only appropiate way to do it. Look at BB's opening to other movies that opened over 5 days- it's way down the list. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/5day.htm
  23. Warner Bros. spent a shitoad on marketing the movie, so I'm sure the budget is north of 200. Compared to other blockbusters and their openings (The Hulk, X-2, Spidey), Batman's opening was below that. No one is saying it did poorly, but it wasn't the blockbuster people were expecting.
  24. Okay- Batman and Robin made 42 million Batman Forever made 52 million Batman Returns made 47 million Batman did 42 million. Batman Begins did 48 million. Now, that's why it's disappointment.
