I already explained why I could never root for the Fish. If it was any other team I'd want them to kill the Yankees so I could sit and laugh. I rooted for the Yankees to win in the sense that I only wanted them to win since I just could not stand to see a Loria team win. Lesser of two huge evils

RAY KING!~ coming into the game. He's my favourite player on the Cardinals
-
What point are you trying to make?
-
Then you should despise alot of owners who have or tried to run their teams into the ground. I do. But what Loria did (running his team into the ground, killing off their fanbase, all the other horrible stuff he did) and then getting rewarded for it by getting ANOTHER team is just something I can't get behind. It's the fact that he got another team that bothered me.
-
I ignored the World Series for the most part- watched the end of Game 6 and that's it. If the Yankees won I wouldn't have cared- just been happy that that piece of shit Loria didn't win. I always pick a team- I don't know why. I just do- it makes it semi-interesting to watch.
-
Oh yea- I forgot the other reason I hate the Marlins and wish nothing but ill-will and bad things for that team: Eric fucking Gregg. Oh and Pedro is ON right now.
-
As usual Anglesault is wrong. I don't hate Loria b/c I live in Canada. I hate him for being a piece of shit owner who ran the Expos into the ground. Always have and always will. Yankees v. Marlins was the one World Series matchup I did not want when the playoffs began. I would've been fine with almost anything else. I had to pick a team to go for so I picked the Yankees. I'm never going to root for a Jeff Loria owned team no matter who they play for.
-
I didn't jump on the Yankees bandwagon though. I hate Jeff Loria with a passion and did not want to see him get rewarded for what he did to the Montreal Expos by getting a World Series ring. That was the only reason I wanted the Yankees to win. Seeing Loria get to celebrate a World Series win was sickening.

I'm sure in Miami there were brand new Fish fans- but I don't think the country got behind them like everyone is with Boston. I think people were pissed at them for beating the Cubbies.
-
Yea- I didn't watch any of the World Series after AFB. I was rooting for the Yankees though and was pretty pissed when they lost
-
Yea- the gang of idiots thing helps. But I swear I picked three teams I wanted to win the World Series this year. I can't believe one of them is two wins away Did anyone jump on Florida's bandwagon last year? Probably not b/c everyone wanted Cubs v. Red Sox.
-
I paid $45 for a Red Sox hat but I intend to return it once the Series is over
-
Coming back from 3-0, doing it against the Yankees, destroying the Yankees in Game 7 on their own field, Curt and his ankle- of course a lot of people are gonna get behind this team. I mean- they conquered the Evil Empire!
-
Boston's always been my favourite AL team (I'm an NL guy so this means I casually root for them to do well but it doesn't affect me unless they play the Yankees) When they made the LCS v. the Yankees I vowed to buy a Red Sox hat if they beat the Yankees. As my attempts to look for a hat last week went- apparently I wasn't the only one.

In New Jersey self service gas is against the law. The attendant has to pump it for you

President Bush (news - web sites) holds a three-point national lead over Democratic rival John Kerry (news - web sites) and has one-point leads on Kerry in the key states of Ohio and Florida, according to Reuters/Zogby polls released on Monday. Bush led Kerry 48-45 percent in the latest three-day national tracking poll of the race for the White House, gaining one point on the Massachusetts senator eight days before the Nov. 2 election. Bush led Kerry 48-46 percent the day before. Bush also led Kerry in six of 10 crucial battleground states, but Kerry narrowed the gap to a statistically insignificant one point in the vital swing states of Ohio and Florida. Bush now leads Kerry 48-47 percent in Florida, down from three points, and 46-45 percent in Ohio, down from five points, while Kerry leads Bush 48-45 percent in Pennsylvania. All three results are within the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points. Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania and their combined 68 electoral votes are the biggest prizes remaining as the tight race for the White House enters the final week of campaigning. Bush had a six-point lead in Nevada and an eight-point lead in New Mexico, while Kerry led by nine points in Michigan and five points in Minnesota. Bush's leads in Wisconsin and Iowa and Kerry's lead in Colorado were within the margin of error. 'WHO CAN TELL THIS YEAR?' About 5 percent of likely voters are still undecided heading into the final full week of the campaign, but Bush has opened a 12-point lead on Kerry among independents. "How will the remaining undecideds break?" pollster John Zogby asked, noting they traditionally move toward the challenger at the end of a race. "But who can tell this year?" Bush's three-point lead is identical to the three-point lead he held on Democrat Al Gore (news - web sites) in the tracking poll at this stage of the 2000 election. The number of likely voters who thought Bush deserved re-election was 48 percent and 48 percent wanted someone new. That represented an improvement for Bush, whose presidential performance was rated as excellent or good by 48 percent while 51 percent said it was fair or poor. The poll of 1,204 likely voters was taken Friday through Sunday and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points. The rolling poll will continue through Nov. 1 -- the day before the election. A tracking poll combines the results of three consecutive nights of polling, then drops the first night's results each time a new night is added. It allows pollsters to record shifts in voter sentiment as they happen. The poll showed independent candidate Ralph Nader (news - web sites), blamed by some Democrats for drawing enough votes from Gore to cost him the election in 2000, with the support of 1.1 percent of likely voters. The state polls of about 600 likely voters in each of the battleground states were taken Friday through Monday. The state-by-state results: In Colorado, Kerry led 48-47 percent; Florida, Bush 48-47 percent; Iowa, Bush 47-44 percent; Michigan, Kerry 52-43 percent; Minnesota, Kerry 48-43 percent; New Mexico, Bush 50-42 percent; Nevada, Bush 50-44 percent; Ohio, Bush 46-45 percent; Pennsylvania, Kerry 48-45 percent; and Wisconsin, Bush 48-46 percent.

Let's see the TNA mutants defend that

It's true- I went to buy a Red Sox hat and I had to go to 4 different stores. They're sold out everywhere in Toronto. People are rooting for them for finally conquering the Evil Empire.

The makeout story: I had friends who used to go to the SNL afterparties all the time and they'd get in via Horatio and Tracy. So my friend was really in with Horatio. One night at the party they were both drunk and I think she wanted to repay him for getting her into the party- so she made out with him. She made the mistake of telling her boyfriend at the time. He kept it a secret until one day they got in a big fight and he decided to tell everyone he knew. This included me. I immedaitely told everyone I knew until my two friends asked me to keep it a secret. So there ya go- Pretty gross eh? I also know someone who asked Jeff Richards out. He said no. And for the record- I'd hold out for Seth, maybe Tina.

What about: YOU PUT YOUR WEED IN IT

I know someone who made out with Horatio Sanz

Yes- but if states start going for Kerry that shouldn't be- I may not be able to keep it down. :-)
