But they haven't won anything yet. They're 0-9 when they have two wins in a divisional series and they choked away the division title this week. It's just hard to get into Oakland's philosophy when they always seem to choke. I know the playoffs are a crapshoot and all that but it is hard to take them seriously when they choke it away year after year

I think the Braves are HBK if anything. A team once dominant, now just hanging on year after year through some fluke. Despite them making it to the big time seemingly all the time- they just can't win it no matter how many chances they get.

They made it to the World Series 4 times in 5 years. (Not counting 94) How is that a 'jobber' making into baseball's grandest stage at that rate?

I don't think so. People throw 1 for 13 around but winning 1 World Series is an accomplishment in itself. It's not a foregone conclusion that you'll win the World Series just by winning the title. They give you hope every year and even though they have failed the past three years, the fact that there is always hope is enough for me. And seeing Boston celebrate to New York New York pretty much takes the pain of Chris Resuckma away

I don't care that their 1 for 13. That one title is everything to me. People can criticise the Braves all they want but I'm sure there are many teams who would love to be in that position every year to win it all and have that one title. I want them to win again just to erase J-- L----- and everything that has gone wrong since Mark Wohlers lost his mind but seeing them one title is a feeling I'll never forget. If they had blown that 3-0 cushion to the Mets (Thank you again Kenny Rogers) I don't know if I'd ever be able to watch baseball again. Living in NY at the same time wouldn't have helped.

I think this weekend's collapse is equivalent to everything the Braves could've possibly done wrong in the past fourteen years. 1 Championship in 13 or whatever years is far worse. Really. The Yanks 4 in 8 is so much better. Those teams were different. What happened last night was the collapse of the Yankees. I watched that game in stunned silence just staring at the TV. I still don't believe the last 4 days really happened.

The Braves have choked but at least they let you know of their intentions beforehand. They've never even blown a series with 3 wins. Came close to it in 1998 but thank you Kenny Rogers The worse they did was when 1996 when they had 2-0 on the Yankees. That's not as bad as what happened over the last 4 days.

Yea- Watching Sheff losing the ability to hit after Game 3 was very nice to see since he's the player on the Yankees I hate the most. If Sheff hit the way he did in the first round and Games 1-3 for the Braves- we wouldn't have lost in the first round. He can go fuck himself

I watched the end of Game 4 (missed most of it due to a concert) just because I believed in watching the team I wanted to win down to the last out. 4 days later I'm running around screaming and going insane. I said at the beginning of the year- I want the Braves to win of course but I'll be almost be as happy if Boston or the Cubs win. I hate the Yankees so much- this was so sweet to see. ON MICKEY'S BIRTHDAY NO LESS!!
