Because they didn't care about the match or the participants in the match so they decided to try and have fun themselves. It's not nice but obviously WWE didn't do something right. I did think they could've been better during the two big Evolution matches though. I do fault them for that
-
Weird- I was at the Smackdown! before No Mercy and I don't remember him getting much. I enjoyed the show. Nothing outright sucked and I started getting into Taker v. Bradshaw towards the end. Evolution going over in the big matches really left a bad taste in my mouth though
-
I just can't believe WWE had the heels go 4 on 4 on one of their biggest shows of the year. Edge and Cena were the only faces who won and the crowd hated Edge anyway
-
Cause Taker was awesome during his heel run at first in 2002. One of the few times I actually tolerated him. But the last two times I've seen him in Toronto- doesn't seem like they care about the Deadman does it?
-
I don't remember Taker getting a big pop at X-8 but whatever. At the Smackdown! I went to in TO he didn't get anything when he came out. I've been to three Toronto shows. One was a RAW in February 2003 where they were really hot for most of the night. A RAW house show where the crowd was off and on but the show was not very good. Shane v. Kane in the confines of a steel cage was the main event. A SD! where the crowd was pretty hot and was really into Los Guerreros v. Angle/Benoit. Yea that was really weird. Considering he usually is very over. Edge has been booked very heelish recently though. Why would anyone cheer for a loser like Matt Hardy? Because they love Kurt Angle. Can't explain that one- I'd probably be a bit deflated myself if I witnessed three heels going over, a bullshit DQ finish and Regal and Eugene looking like idiots. They don't like charity cases- they also shat all over Gowan. Undertaker sucks- I always boo him when I go to shows. How does a city not acting like puppets make them a bad crowd? So they were dead tonight for a couple of matches. It happens. So what? They weren't given much to cheer for and responded accordingly. I admit they kind of ruined Eugene v. HHH but other then that- everyone here seems to complain non-stop about the WWE's booking. Toronto did that as well. Just on the 3rd biggest show of the year
-
Regarding the wave during Taker v. Bradshaw- Toronto has never cared for the Undertaker and Bradshaw's shtick wasn't going to appeal to Canadians anyway so they had no reason to shit on him. So of course they're not going to care about the match. No one really wanted a JBL v. Taker main event and they were being vocal about it and letting Vince know.
-
No! Keep it in Canada! In Vancouver to be more specific.... Was Toronto this bad for WM 18, with the exception of the Hogan/Rock match? Toronto is the city that completely killed the HHH/Jericho Main Event. With the exception of crowd reaction for Hogan/Rock at WrestleMania X8 and Hogan/Warrior at WrestleMania VI, Toronto has ALWAYS been a shit crowd. Hopefully, Vince has seen a better look at this tonight. Wrong. I went to a RAW show in Toronto and the crowd was HOT for the entire show. Toronto doesn't like charity cases (see Eugene) and doesn't like Taker. So there ya go.

The SD! before the 2002 RR

I was in Philly last weekend and I couldn't believe how much coverage the Eagles got in the sports section. And it was only training camp. There was Eagles stuff all over the cty- but nothing Phillie related. Aren't the fans getting tired of the Eagles and their constant chokings in the NFC Championship Game?

I never can get into Anne Hathaway. Her body is just weird looking and not nice to look at. They haven't changed how they rate PG-13 movies. I think it's done on a case by case basis. Though I think they're more lenient with the 'f' word now
-
But you can't blame the PG-13 on Anderson. A v. P is definetley going to experience a Friday-Saturday drop like the Village did. It will probably have a 30-40 opening weekend. Princess Diaries is kicking Hilary Duff's ass- her movie is officially done for
-
That match never had the chance to get off the ground. Jericho injured his ankle and they had to go home earlier then expected. That's why there was the out of nowhere finish. Still a pretty good match though.
-
He was probably contractually obligated to deliver a PG-13. So it's not his fault. Van Helsing wasn't a collasal flop, but it was a dissapointment for Universal. They were hoping to start up a big franchise and possibly spin off a TV show to NBC. But with everyone and their mother hating it (except for Ebert) those plans are pretty much squashed. Plus the movie opened at 51 million dollars- which accounted for 43 percent of its domestic gross. That's not very good. Universal probably made money off of it but it should've been so much better.

You just hit the nail right on the head with that one. The draft lottery was a scam and a disgrace. disĀ·grace ( P ) Pronunciation Key (ds-grs) n. Loss of honor, respect, or reputation; shame. The condition of being strongly and generally disapproved. One that brings disfavor or discredit: Your handwriting is a disgrace How was the lottery a disgrace? It helped get rid of RAW's dead weight and tightened the show better. Shelton Benjamin and Spike Dudley were both greatly helped by the change of scenery. Tajiri's been getting a push and is no longer stuck in the dead weight cruiser division. Until their pushes were stalled- Dupree and Jindrak were starting to get over on his own. Instead of being lost in the shuffle at RAW- Booker's become an uppercard heel. Edge is the I-C champ over on Smackdown!. Rico and Haas were doing their thing until Rico got hurt. A-Train and Palumbo got screwed by it but A-Train is injured and no one cares about Palumbo anyway. The only person who didn't really benefit was Rob Van Dam
-
But Regal wasn't fired for that. He was fired for being on drugs and peeing on a flight attendant. And as a wrestler- you have to learn to protect yourself. So it would've been Goldberg's fault had that happened
-
How is it getting worse and worse when the product is MUCH better then it was last year?
-
I don't want a decent show though. I want a good-great show if TNA is going to get my $10. If no one buys TNA will be forced to look at their product and change it- hopefully for the better. THAT'S why people shouldn't accept just a decent show. You're shelling out $10 a week, $40 a month, $500 something a year- you should be getting a good show every week.
-
I'd a say who helped train guys like Spanky, American Dragon and who most of the ROH roster has either worked with or credits as a huge influence is worth quite a bit more then a dime in the business. Regal's never been put into a position to draw- so saying he can't draw doesn't prove anything. Regal didn't sanbag Goldberg and obviously didn't hurt his rep. He tried to work a match with him rather then get squashed. I don't think anyone thought Goldberg was a pussy cause of that match. Regal had great matches with Flair, a good match with Sting and of course a MOTYC with Benoit. With what other great draws did his style constrast with? He worked a couple matches with Austin but they were all TV matches. Ditto Rock

The 1994 strike really hurt- You just never thought it would go as far as it did and then you hear they're cancelling the World Series. I just didn't believe the owners and players would let that happen. I remember dreading the 1995 season full of replacement players. I kind of lost interest in baseball but Cal Ripken and the Braves World Series run quickly brought me back. How did they get them back anyway? Didn't just a judge just tell them to fuck off and go back to work thus solving nothing?
-
The Triple H-Stephanie-Vince renewal of the vows. Especially cause HHH had this huge grin on his face the whole time. Vince telling the audience to stop chanting What? was hilarious. Oh and HHH coming out to his own music was gold. How about during the Austin-HHH stuff from 2001: JR: THERE'S NO ANCHOR TIED TO HIS ASS!
-
Another quick question Al- What is the Black and Gray Ink test?
-
I've really enjoyed these Al. I'd like to see you do famous Braves: Dale Murphy and David Justice. I know both are no's but I just want to see where they measure up
-
But that's the thing: This is the WORST CONTRACTS thread. While Holik is a good player, giving him NINE million a year is a horrible idea and a bad contract. That's why it's one of the worst contracts
-
I think it's funny that they have Nigel McGuiness listed since they haven't contacted him about appearing on the show yet. In fact he didn't even know TNA listed him on their website

Clinton said no.
