  1. I still don't get why he won't use the quote button. It's annoying as hell to read one of his posts
  2. Paul London was NOT trained by Shawn Michaels. He was trained by Rudy Boy Gonzalez at the TWA school which used to be owned by Shawn Michaels.
  3. I think Joe's injuries are legit as he's pulled out of other indies and PWInsider said he was really screwed up after DBD. Acid is NOT going over for the title. If Homicide can't do it in three attempts- Acid isn't going over. The man just jobbed to Jimmy Rave!
  4. I think Dave O'Neill is Champ. And tank_abbott is Frank Nabbitt. That's all I got
  5. I will definetley be going to this show. I'm not so keen on Acid v. Joe (I mean TRENT ACID?) but I really want to see Aries v. Dragon and the two tag matches. The heat for those matches should be off the charts. And Nigel better beat Walters- I want to see Williams v. Walters soo badly. Anyone think Rottweilers may win the belts?
  6. Short and to the point. God job AoO
  7. I'm shocked Borne did so well- it looked like a fun movie but not a movie that would open huge. Catwoman is going to drop huge next week in the crowded marketplace. A Cinderella Story helped up very well in week 2. It only fell 41% which is pretty good considering two big movies opening and the Borne Supremacy blowing everyone away with its better then expected opening. It also had been doing well on weekdays- even had a better per screen average then Spiderman 2. It looks like it has a chance to become Hilary's grossing film (not counting Cheaper of course).
  8. Even though I've posted my picture many times...I'm in
  9. A film will eventually surpass Titantic- especially with rising ticket prices. Look at Shrek 2- it was only 130 million away from beating Titantic. A movie would have to come out in November-December, appeal to all audiences and have the backing of the critics. If they opened Shrek 3 around Christmastime and again got people to drink the Koolaid- maybe it'd have a shot. Oh and: The Matrix Reloaded outgrossed the Matrix. Return of the King outgrossed the other two. Hannibal outgrossed Silence of the Lambs. So spiny- you really don't know what you're talking about
  10. Just so I don't completely negative- I do like rule #3- I think AS' game by game love for his Yankees is a bit tiring (I mean they have the best record in baseball) so I do like that Al is trying to end that.
  11. I don't think the WC winner plays the team in their own division. So it'd be- Cards v. Braves, Cubs v. Dodgers
  12. Sky Captain was delayed since the studio thought that it'd get lost in the shuffle in the summer. I saw the trailer for it and it looks really bad. It didn't explain the plot or anything and it looks like lots of CGI without much story. I saw A Cinderella Story last night. It was a nice cute little movie and I really think the critics went into the movie wanting to hate it and spent the whole time thinking of witty one liners and such that would make them look funny as they trashed the movie. Ebert giving Stepford Wives *** and Cinderella Story * is a joke
  13. That's the thing- the NHL threads really weren't like that. It was mostly just a few people talking about the hockey season. I don't see why anyone would be intimidated by a thread with just a couple of people talking hockey and it's not like the threads were full of one liners either. For the most part there was great discussion, good debates and generally everyone knew their stuff. Putting into an AIM Chat would lose all that. I can understand eliminating OAO threads for certain things- but for sports like soccer or hockey they're a perfect place for some good discussion among a limited group of posters. Having everyone migrate to AIM would kill that and would possibly kill a lot of good debates or discussion. I've never really understood your hatred for all OAO threads- sometimes they really do work. And while I can see someone not liking one liner posts like 'Sundin scores!' they're part of the fun of seeing everyone's reactions to certain events and the threads have a certain charm cause of that. I remember reading the Baseball Playoff thread last year and seeing everyone's reaction to Aaron Boone's HR. Plus they're a good way to keep up with the game. I know you want to promote good discussion and debate, and I think that's great- it's just I post here to have fun and reading stuff like 'you should be able to come up with a paragraph to describe your thoughts' takes away from it. Sorry for the rant- just my two cents
  14. Banning OAO threads totally is not the best idea Al. Last season the OAO NHL thread and subsequent playoff thread was a place for great discussion and a lot of it would've gotten lost had it we been forced to chat on AIM or start a seperate threads for everything. I don't think OAO threads for certain things are such a bad thing and I think the hockey threads are evidence of that.
  15. It was late Friday night after a long day of rehearsals. She seemed tired but she was very talkative. If you have a mild crush on LL- go see Mean Girls. Trust me. I work at a theatre too. It's at 11th and 3rd in the city. We don't get the big movies since we're very small. We got Fahrenehit before anyone else and we were SWAMPED. We did get A Cinderella Story and it did pretty good for when I was there. (10-6). The 4:45 show was pretty full. We put it on one screen while Fahrenheit got 3 screens. We're getting Bourne Supremacy which should bump the Terminal out of the water. I think we'll give that two screens and cut Fahrenheit to two screens.
  16. I thought we hated him for being the mastermind behnd the attacks.
  17. I love it when people hate on SNL just cause I love getting into debates over the show since it's like the one thing I'm somewhat knowledgeable out. We call that irony
  18. I say we get back to discussing my possible modship. I liked the thread when that was being discussed. Better then AS v. CWM Part 1000
  19. Even though I think 99.9% of the TSM population disagrees with you- I do thank you for not only having the courage to speak your mind but to also like me find many ways to spin A Cinderella Story's success.
  20. Yea I'm kind of curious. At what?
  21. I got the 19 million quote from a Reuters article about the movie. I didn't know it didn't include marketing. That's my bad right there. 13 Going on 30 was just an opening weekend movie. It pretty much died off once Mean Girls came out. I think A Cinderella Story was hurt by I, Robot. I think people expected I, Robot to skew just to men but according to Box Office Guru- 49% of the audience was made up of women. I don't think the broad appeal of I, Robot was expected. Even the Notebook has been out for a few weeks- it has been showing some excellent legs as I think it's been benefitting from good word of mouth. It opened to 13.5 million and it's fourth weekend still managed to make 5.45 million. It's showing remarkable staying power and is catering to young women- it could've very easily cut int the audience. Not really. A PG-13 just means the movie may not be appropiate to people under 13. You can still see a PG-13 movie at any age regardless of parent or guardian. A PG-13 is better then a PG in some cases because it convinces teenagers that the movie is not just a film for little kids. Had Mean Girls been a PG would it have attracted much of an audience? Probably not. Because it would've been dismissed as a kiddie flick. I see your point but keep in mind- I Robot heavily skews that thing upward. The weekend Confessions came out 50 First Dates was #1 with 20.4 made. That's not a very fare comparison. I know I'm very biased towards Hilary Duff but I'm trying to back it up with facts. I will admit that the movie's long term prospects do not look that good. I don't think Catwoman and Bourne Supremacy will hurt it too much but that Friday to Saturday drop could mean a drop of 50% or more like Anchorman had. I can attest from a personal level that tickets are a bitch to get. She basically sold out Continental Airlines Arena and only shitty seats are left for Nassau Coliseum. I've only heard 'That Girl' in terms of Lindsay's singing. It's a catchy song and I like the video. I know she has other songs on the Confessions soundtrack and sang a song for Freaky Friday. She's trying to get an album off the ground. Red hair doesn't appeal to me very much. I like blonde hair the most and that's why I like Hilary. And while she's no Lindsay- Hilary's got tits. I didn't get a chance to get a picture with Hilary. I met her at TRL and could only get an autograph and talk to her. Very nice girl. Happy mole? That's what I'm here for.
  22. Gotta disagree with that one. (Oh no- it's like the jailbait thread all over again) I've met them both and Hilary is a lot cuter in person. Lindsay has her good points (her massive tits) but she has bad skin that sometimes takes away from her.
  23. Martin and Orlorff shouldn't count since Ian and Matt were never able to find someone to fully distribute the damn thing. That's what doomed that film. Hilary's more of a draw then Lindsay simply cause of Hilary's crossover appeal. Lindsay is having a hard time getting her singing career off the ground while Hilary has a triple platinum album and a national tour selling out across the country. Could Lindsay fill 6,000 people in Bryant Park? I doubt it
  24. I disagree. The ads for Mean Girls were aimed squarely at the teenage demographic which usually results in an opening in the low tens. So something had to give right? I think all the press Tina did greatly helped the movie. People realised that Mean Girls was not just your average generic teen comedy. I think her presence and the subsequent good reviews the movie got made people take notice. It wasn't really cause of Lindsay. If Lindsay was a big star then Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen would've done better
  25. I appreciate your explanation Sass. It's nice to have mods who don't have a stick up their ass and are power hungry like nikjohns. I just think TSM has a lot of posters who are a LOT worse then Choken One. Choken One, at times, did help bring worthwhile discussion while I've seen other posters who just spout meaningless one liners or whose posts are incomprehensible are still around. Choken did have his redeeming qualities- I think other posters should've been banned before he was.
