I have no respect for any team that allows Brian Knobbs to celebrate the Cup with them

If Calgary won, he would say the shortest speech possible. Hey Gary, try convincing Canadians to get back and watch hockey again. Gary should've paid off Tampa to lose and had Calgary win instead. God redbaron- stop being so bitter.

Congratulations to Dave Andrechuyck (sp?). Tampa deserved it

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Breaks...
bob_barron replied to a topic in Television & Film
Yea- I admit it. I was scared for much of the movie. It was very dark and I have no idea how it got a PG rating. And the first Harry Potter is not the third highest grossing film of all time. Internationally may be but def not domestic -
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Breaks...

Considering he's one of the producers and Harry Potter 1 and 2 both opened to 85+ levels- I don't think he's too upset. -
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Breaks...
bob_barron replied to a topic in Television & Film
It has an 89% rating at rotten tomatoes and many people are calling it one of the best films of the year. Shrek 2 was so far below Harry Potter in terms of quality it's not even funny. The plot of Shrek 2 was the one thing I hated about Shrek 1 (Waaaah Fiona may not like me boo-hoo) and the fact that Shrek 2 never made you attempt to care about the characters made me bored throughout most of the movie. At times the movie was very very funny but it just didnt try to be funny enough. Whereseas like Harry Potter which scared the crap out of me and is so well done that it had me caring for the welfare of the characters which Shrek 2 was incapable of doing. I left the theatre out of breath. Harry Potter was also smart in that whenever the movie got a bit too scary they made sure to inject some humour into it and lighten the mood just a bit. The fact that Shrek 2 is making all this money is kind of sad since it is very far below the level of the first one. -
I never saw Chamber of Secrets (I did see the first one). This movie was tremendous. I was scared for much of the movie and it was one big adrenaline rush. Just an excellent movie from start to finish- probably the best movie I've seen all year.

Canada loses "Coolest Crowd Ever" title
bob_barron replied to Jobber of the Week's topic in The WWE Folder
How so? The crowd was very emotionally invested in the handicap match and the three-way. The only match the crowd was "smart" for was Goldberg v. Brock. The emotion in that building during HHH v. HBK v. Benoit was real. Whenever it looked like HHH was about to win- the crowd grew very angry. Whenever Benoit was in control the crowd was hot- the building was shaking when Benoit had him in the crossface wanting HHH to tap. I really don't see your point here. -
Paying for the rehab of guys like Eddy Guerrero and William Regal and then giving them a chance upon their recovery. Regal credits Vince with helping to save his life

I would be thankful I was still employed and not fired 7 years ago like I should've been

once again no one can have a single discussion without credible iron clad sources in order That Lord Bob Baron can accept and give his blessings for...Even if this story could be utter bullshit. It must be Confirmible Utter bullshit Wow- another entralling and inciteful post from Trivia. We don't even know if this is true since you didn't give a source or any reason to believve you- so what is the point of discussing this?

It'd be nice if you provided us a source for this information or any reason to take this seriously.

Oh trust me- Albert's win was unexpected. I was there for that match and when the crowd was in stunned silence when DDP interfered and Albert won the belt. I didnt see that one coming. Booker T/RVD over Evolution came out of nowhere earlier this year
-
I don't see why Rikishi getting the I-C belt was a travesty. He was very very over at the time and they had to get the belt off Benoit to move him into a feud with The Rock. So why not job Benoit to someone very over? I expected Jericho to win the belt that night- Austin retaining would be pointless, Angle was dead in the water and I knew Angle had no chance over Austin and they wouldn't do Rock v. Austin unannounced...so it was kind of obvious Y2J would win. And the Commonwealth Connection going over BookDust was pretty obvious. I didn't know whether to be overjoyed that Regal won a belt...or cry knowing Goldust lost one.

SMACKDOWN SPOILERS FROM TORONTO by Adam Lebow @ 12:06:00 AM on 6/2/2004 Thanks to Adam Lebow for sending along results from the Smackdown tapings: Dark Match Harly Clone d. Cena came out and said Booker almost cost him his title last week and wants a match. Angle refused to let Cena have the match which eventually led to a brawl between Booker T and Cena. Cena would knock over Angle and Angle would then say he is going to the board of directors to strip Cena of the US Title. Eddie Guerrero d. Danny Basham w/Doug Basham in a Non-Title Match via Pinfall after the Frog Splash. Kenzo Suzki debuts next week. Billy Gunn and Hardcore Holly d. Some ladies jumped the guard rail and celebrated with Classic, however it was later revealed that Classic paid the ladies for their services. It led to JR saying he was proud of his father. Rey Mysterio d. Rene Dupree w/ Fifi via Pinfall after Mysterio rolled through a Dupree Powerbomb Attempt. JBL promo saying it will be a Bullrope Match at GAB. Undertaker vs. Booker T went to a no-decision after the match was interrupted by Paul Heyman and the Dudley Boyz. Heyman told Taker he was one week to make a decision. He can either join the Dudley Boyz and Heyman in their stable and get back Paul Bareer or he will never see his urn or Paul again. After the cameras stopped, JBL came out and cut a promo on Canada and Taker. He attacked Taker followed by Dupree, Dudley Boyz and Booker T (who was still at ringside). Cena and Guerrero made the save which led to Booker T getting Chokeslamed to end the night. It was a so-so Smackdown.

Sting NEEDS to go to Smackdown!. RAW is fine right now with the roster they have. Sting would just come in and muddle the storyline they have going on. On SD! Sting could come in and feud with some of the heels on the roster (Booker, Dupree, whomever). And if he gets over and doesn't fall flat on his face- he could get a title match v. Eddy. Sting going to RAW would be completely pointless and just make Smackdown! look even more weak and second rate. Which it doesn't need.

Oh- I also saw Along Came Polly on my free PPV where I lived. It had some funny scenes but as a movie it was terrible. It needed tighter editing as there were a lot of pointless scenes that existed just to embarass Ben Stiller. Plus I never got why Reuben and Polly got together anyway. The movie didn't even explain it! Hank Azaria's story of the hippo was hilarious though- I give it *1/2-**. Fog of War was a really good movie. At times it was a bit slow and tedious but once he started talking about Vietnam it was really fascinating. As someone who didn't know anything about Robert MacNamara going in I learned a lot. His stories about World War II were also really interesting to listen to. I wanted to see Spartan after Ebert gave it **** but the arts theatre pulled it before I got a chance to see it.

I've been to the movies a lot this year- but it's because I've seen Mean Girls 4 times. Of movies that came out in 2004 I've seen: Confessions... (hilariously bad), Passion of the Christ (excellent film but very disturbing to watch), Kill Bill Vol. 2 (just amazing) and New York Minute (which was just terrible) In America, Mystic River, Lost in Translation, Fog of War, and Cold Mountain were all films that I've seen in 2004 that came out last year.

That's awesome DH. I've seen it 4 times now- it's just such a hilarious movie. There are parts that bother me (I think it could've been darker) and there are logic flaws Why was Aaron at the school dance but it's a very smart and very funny movie. Tim Meadows seriously deserves an Oscar nomination for his role as Mr. Duvall.

Andy Richter was just pathetic. He looked like he did not want to be there at all and his accent was terrible. The movie was also pretty racist for a family flick. The Bob Saget cameo had me and my friend jump up and cheer. The only part of the movie where I didn't make a comment. Seeing as how you saw Godsend and Envy I guess you do see everything that comes out. Remember- there's nothing wrong with skipping a movie. I see your 10...and I don't see Mean Girls.
-
Unless you saw Confessions and NY Minute to mock them (like I did) what did you expect from those movies? You had to know they were going to be terrible. Confessions... may have been horribly edited, sloppily put together and made little sense but it had more funny lines then NY Minute. NY Minute was an abortion. Except for Bob Saget's cameo and Mary Kate quoting Avril Lavignesteen the movie felt like an eternity. At least I got good material seeing both.

I have a similiar problem- Whenever I go to open stuff like Control Panel, My Computer or my Music folders I get an illegal operation and it won't open it. I would delete IE but I can't get into Add/Remove Programs cause Control Panel doesn't work. Can anyone help?

That's awesome! I met Lauren Graham a few weeks ago. I didn't ask her if she was wearing an atomically correct bra though

As someone who owns the Rey Mysterio DVD I don't want to a match I already have taking up time on the DVD unless as razateca said they go in depth with it. (Buildup, commentary) And that Los Guerreros v. WGTT match is terrible. Once it becomes a pier-4 brawl it's just really sloppy and everyone is off.
