I know this doesn't apply directly to you but this is something SK wrote a while back- You know, I don’t know if the horridness of the WWA PPV has been beaten into the ground enough yet, but on a slightly more positive note about the show I think you could have saved it quite easily just by following a few simple steps and rearranging the card a little. So with that in mind, here’s Scott’s Guide To Promoting Your First PPV. 1) Always remember: No one ever went broke underestimating the stupidity of the wrestling audience. Always assume that your core demographic is Matt Hardy and build from there. For instance, I know who Kronic are. You know who Kronic are. Did any of the heavily-papered crowd at the arena know who they were? Doubtful. Why should the audience care when there’s no basic heel-face alignments being given to them? Trust me, aspiring promoters – the WWF can get away with trying storylines that are a little more complex because they have a loyal audience and several somewhat-competent writers. For you, Joe Promoter, the key is to have one guy come out and insult the hometown, and the other guy defend its honor. Then they fight about it. That’s all. Don’t try anything more cutesy than that because that’s how WCW went out of business. Which leads to my next point… 2) Keep the matchups simple. 6-way and 3-way cruiserweight matches? Forget it, I watch more wrestling than almost anyone and even I can’t into those things most of the time because it’s such a chore to follow what’s going on. Stay with either one-on-one, non-gimmicked singles matches or tag matches. Especially tag matches – start the show with one, and put one second from the top. Get a pair of pretty boys and put them against your hulking monsters and do the standard “One guy gets beat up for 5 minutes, hot tag other guy” formula, and then whatever finish you want from there. Make sure your heels put their feet on the ropes at least once, because that’s a universal sign of a heel and it costs you nothing. Keep it under 10 minutes, and I guarantee the crowd will be into it by the end and you may even create defined heels and faces from it. 3) If you don’t have episodic TV, ignore the storylines and just worry about having good matches and creating heels and faces for when you do get TV. It’s far more important to define your characters, and make the fans want to see more of them, than it is to show how witty you are. Keep the talking to an absolute minimum outside of pre-match promos to establish who the bad guy and good guy is. Case in point: They give Allen Funk a pre-match promo to establish the Funkster character. He wrestles babyface. Reno is specifically introduced as being from Nevada. He wrestles neutral. Who do we cheer for? Answer: No one, because we don’t know whether we’re supposed to cheer the old Hulkster out of nostalgia or boo him out of ironic detachment. Characters that require that degree of thought by an audience of morons are death. 4) Flying in guys to cut promos is a waste of money that could be spending on your production values. Flying in guys to job in a squash is a waste of money that you could be spending on your production values. Flying in a manager is a waste of money that you could be spending on your production values. Flying in Hiroyoshi Tenzan from Japan to push Disco Inferno around in a throwaway moment is a waste of money that you could be spending on flying Disco Inferno anywhere else in the US. A color commentator is only useful when you have storylines to push, which the WWA doesn’t have. So don’t use one. Commisioners are useless, so don’t use them. T&A is useless on a show that people have already paid for, so don’t use it. Injured wrestlers are useless, so don’t use them. A 4-way Cruiserweight match might as well be the same thing as a 6-way, so dump two of the Cruiserweights and save some more money. This is not an insignificant amount of cash we’re talking here – all the above things cost money and none of them add one single red cent to the bottom line on a show that is basically being sold on a few names. Cut costs wherever you can and pump it into production values if you want to look “big league”.

Is it wrong that I marked out when Banky called me a ninkompoop?

Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl with yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there she would merengue and do the cha-cha and while she tried to be a star Tony always tended bar across the crowded floor, they worked from 8 til 4 they were young and they had each other who could ask for more? CHORUS: At the copa (CO!) Copacabana (Copacabana) the hottest spot north of Havana (here) at the copa (CO!) Copacabana music and passion were always in fashion At the copa.... they fell in love His name was Rico he wore a diamond he was escorted to his chair, he saw Lola dancing there and when she finished,he called her over but Rico went a bit to far Tony sailed across the bar and then the punches flew and chairs were smashed in two there was blood and a single gun shot but just who shot who? REPEAT CHORUS At the copa... she lost her love Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl, but that was 30 years ago, when they used to have a show now it's a disco, but not for Lola, still in dress she used to wear, faded feathers in her hair she sits there so refined, and drinks herself half-blind she lost her youth and she lost her Tony now she's lost her mind REPEAT CHORUS At the copa... don't fall in love don't fall in love

LONDON WINS! LONDON WINS! LONDON WINS!

No- He got depushed because his big push (the one that was aimed for already over Matt Hardy) BOMBED. The crowd did not respond to him except for the cheap heat. And to a majority of viewers and fans of WWE. So because I don't like a guy whose offence is boring and offers nothing of interest for the viewer- You immedately (sic) assume I have to see a spotfest to enjoy a match. Way to be completely ignorant and stereotypical Ray. A-Train's matches offer nothing of interest to the viewer. His moveset is generic. So because one poster is an idiot trapped in 2000 that automatically makes everyone love him? I'd love to see this post. Why do you even take any of those wrestling forums seriously? Storm v. Edge Summerslam 2001, Storm v. Booker T Nitro 2000, Storm v. RVD Winter 2002 are better then any A-Train match I've ever seen. Which matches are you referring to? He's faced both men multiple times. Neither match has been any good. All he gets are Shave Your Back chants- and utter silence. You know why I don't like him? Because he doesn't put on good matches. So you enjoyed his 1 minute match v. Benoit in February? He had two decent matches with Benoit earlier this year- that's the only time he's ever impressed me. A-Train's matches aren't really that psychologically sound. I watch wrestling to be entertained- and A-Train doesn't entertain me. I already gave you my reasons why I don't like A-Train's work. You're just too close minded to listen

That doesn't make him a good worker though- He tries hard but he just doesn't have it. Where did you hear he was a nice guy? When I met him he was a dick he didn't sign for any fans. You act like I haver some deep hatred towards A-Train because I don't think he's good in the ring. I don't like his matches because most of them suck. I'm not into slow boring matches myself. He doesn't do any moves that could be botched- keep in mind he's also on SD! where fuckups are easy to hide. I don't know if I would fire him but he shouldn't be getting any semblance of a push.
-
A-Train is given the I-C title and has successful defences against the likes of Edge (the KOTR) and Rhyno. He does not get over. A-Train gets to injure Rey Mysterio and then hurt Edge before one of the biggest matches of his career. He gets to team with the WWE champ against Angle and Edge and has a PPV match v. Edge. He does not get over. The Rock jobs all the time and he's a 7 time WWE champ who could probably say no if he wanted to. A-Train is in NO position to refuse to job so him jobbing all the time is a moot point. Yes- A-Train's offence does suck. It is boring. It gives the viewer no reason to get into a match. It is slow. People got off Lance's cock a long time ago. I don't think anyone considers him great technical wrestler. I prefer Lance because he puts on the better matches. I've yet to seen one except for a decent match against Benoit. Just cheap heat that dies off during the match. So can most of the roster. I don't know if I would fire him but he shouldn't be getting any semblance of a push. He is a poor worker who does not put on good matches and has had all his pushes fail. He sucks
-
He IS worthless- None of his pushes have ever succeeded, he's not that good in the ring and offers me no entertainment value on SD! He's not in any position to turn down jobs to anyone. His offence sucks- it always drags down any match he's in. Five times. So? Good to know A-Train's work is more believeable then another crappy worker. I've seen lots of Lance and lots of A-Train and while neither is good- I prefer Lance. No- he sucks and has no upside potential- there's a reason to fire him. But it's not- I'm a big Brock Lesnar fan and I think he qualifies as a 'hoss'. I don't like A-Train because he sucks and does nothing to entertain me.
-
Why just for the cage match? WGTT had a match just as good at Vengeance against the Filthy Animals.
-
I don't see how A-Train is underrated at all. I've never really enjoyed any A-Train match except for one with Benoit a few months ago. Goldust is a major guilty pleasure of mine- give that man a push

He, she, how am I to know? Because it's painfully obvious to anyone who has ever read one of HER posts. Oh and Anorak- STFU and get a sense of humour. There's nothing wrong with having one

Week 3 Pick Results for Braves/kkk contests

If Oakland wins would that make me and Fly tied 2-2 and if we have the same tiebreaker- Does that mean we'd be tied???? -
Shane was back the next night. did he wrestle? No but he showed no ill-effects of getting thrown through glass.

You totally missed the point- and will you please get over the botched SSP? ACCIDENTS HAPPEN. . Edge The crowd was completely shitting on the match until they started doing near fall pop booking. when he's gotten average reactions at best since WM X8. But it wasn't like Goldberg's push- He was put over the big names but not as big as Goldberg was- it was more WWE Style Push. When was the last time I brought that up? 2 months ago? And it DID hurt Jericho. Yes- you've established that- congratulations. Actually he did- He immeadiately covered for a near fall and then got put in the F5. It does when you're booking the main event of the biggest show of the year. Survivor Series 2002- Brock v. Big Show. That's Heyman's fault- not Brock's. Apples and oranges. No one is drawing right now- so you could say that about anyone. I think Hurricane Isabel really hurt the ratings for Brock v. Angle. That doesn't make A-Train a better worker at all. And A-Train wasn't even hurt. Who can't walk. Who can
