Green Bay/Minnesota has been the more competitive rivalry but before Favre owned the Bears, Chicago/Green Bay has been the oldest and most intense rivalry.

Dama, liking Texas/supporting their bid for the national title is akin to rooting for the Cowboys or Redskins or Giants out of support for the NFC East.

College football takes their rivalries seriously, so it's not that different.

If San Diego asks for too much, then you'd be right in that the Jets don't make a play for Rivers. I do hope for the best for Orton, but as a Bears fan, you'd forgive me if I'm skeptical on his ability. Otherwise, you're on the mark here.

Ok but exactly how have I shown ineptitude in football knowledge? It IS likely the Jets goes after Phillip Rivers considering they were in talks with San Diego where they'd swap John Abraham for Rivers, so the interest is there. I know that the Bears probably can't keep both quarterbacks, but I don't see HOW they completely put their faith in a guy who has a 61.8 passer rating (and doesn't have the scrambling ability of Michael Vick to make up for it) while discarding their other QB that they deemed their future franchise QB and has done nothing to lose his job (because he has been injured).

Once again, the Bears are not cutting Grossman. They will keep him another year in case Orton proves to have a fluke season this year. Grossman has done nothing to lose his starting job, because he has gotten hurt every year. What I see happening is Orton goes in next year the starter and Grossman the backup. If Orton looks good next year, then yes Grossman will be cut loose for the 2007 season.

I also think Rivers is New York bound, in case Pennington can't get his shit together by next season.

The Bears would be real stupid in cutting Grossman. It's not like Orton is having a Brees circa 2004 campaign.

Hopefully Gates is good to go for that game. He went down with an injury today.

I'm not flaming anyone. I merely explained why people would tend to side with Al about baseball. Look at all those baseball threads where people ask Al questions about baseball. When people who don't know all the statistics of baseball and whatnot come in this folder, they see Alkeiper's posts full of statistics and an inner knowledge of baseball that they have the misfortune of lacking, they're going to rely on his opinion. When he has been slamming you 9 times out of 10 (Wow you were right about a blister, OMG!!!), don't cry when people rely on his opinion more than yours. Besides you sucked in the mock NFL draft thread too, so your stock is real low right now.

It would be interesting to see somebody disagree on some things with Al rather than dangle off his nuts all the time. His scrotum must be in alot of pain. It's only interesting if the person disagreeing actually knew what he was talking about. You do not.
