  1. Looking good for the Colonial though when you look at the seed for UNCW. And if a win over Texas is going to carry in Texas A&M, things might have seriously improved for Florida St getting in. I still think you'll need 20 wins to get in. Also, who the hell CARES how the teams who KNEW they were in react? It's like, "wow, we knew we were in...ok...you want us to act happy again?"
  2. The year ESPN did it was cool. They gave all the 65 teams and then they analyzed. CBS? Nah, we gotta wait longer.
  3. Yeah, I heard that. He also used that reasoning to explain why the MVC didn't deserve all the bids people are saying they should get. He probably doesn't think they should get any more than the automatic bid. If Packer was running the selection committee, you'd probably see every single team from the 6 power conferences that was eligible for postseason play getting a bid. Fucking elitist. And every ACC team would be getting a bid as well, eligible or not. Actually Packer argued against Florida State. Then he said the ACC deserved seven bids. Something tells me Billy lost his medication years ago. Packer needs to be committed. This version of the ACC getting 7 Bids is just plain loco. I was confused how he could say that and say Florida St didn't deserve in. I'm curious as to who would have got the bids in Billy's world. That would have been fun.
  4. They're just ribbing these guys, it doesn't sound too bad. The fact that it ultimately resulted in a violent confrontation would suggest otherwise. It sounds like the Dicks were babies. I'm not advocating harsh hazing or anything, but I don't think there's anything wrong with ribbing the new guy. Doesn't matter, these guys are suppose to be adults. Hazing is for teenagers, the fact that the WWE locker room is turning into a College faturnity makes me disgusted. Well, the entire locker room DOES look like the villians from a Revenge of the Nerds movie. Especially Randy Orton.

  6. I hope Memphis gets a 1 seed, so Calipari can tell him to piss off. That'll make the selection show. Also, did you hear that *THUD*? It was Texas falling to the 2 Line, right where they belong. God help us if Ohio St wins today, Packer will be screaming that the Big 10 champion deserves the #1 seed. And hell, I like OSU but even I don't think they should get a 1. Plus this is the year honestly teams should want to avoid the one seed. The collection of three seeds are going to be so so at best while the four seeds are going to be some strong teams.
  7. I still have Texas being dunked in round 1, unless they get a different draw than I'm expecting. What they are getting now, I can see them being the upset special.
  8. If that's true, Temple goes from a school I don't like to a school I REALLY don't like. I'd be happy if Huggins never got another job. I talked to John on more than one occasion and he was actually extremely pleasant and nice to me. Course I always addressed him as Mr. Chaney. One thing I realized about him is if you even mildly try to get on his bad side, you get on his REALLY bad side. He doesn't have a slightly annoyed side. He's either a pleasant interview or pissed off to the point you think he's going to gut you. My poor intern never came back after making that call. A good example of this is every year at Christmas time, Chaney goes on CSN and just goes off on a variety of subjects. He tends to get real pissed at Michael Barkann when Barkann disagrees with him on a subject or two that he talks about. The thing with Chaney is this. When his team loses, he is just beyond miserable. And his last few seasons, the kids he was bringing in just were players that were raw talent that just failed to learn the system. Some flat out refused too which really made him an angry man..well, more so than usual. I felt like the way things were going at Temple that he needed to retire two years ago. He just had crossed a line in sanity, he was becoming angry and bitter all the time and I knew lots of the reasons why. There is a lot of stuff ESPN and other places just didn't talk about at Temple involving his players. It was just a total wreck. Huggins coming in isn't going to make matters better, it's going to turn Temple into THUGVILLE which is where it was headed anyway.
  9. No, The Ring 2 flat out sucked. I actually liked what The Ring was trying to do, I mean I didn't think it was a great film but I liked the little things they do during the film to play with your mind. Flashes of the ring, flies on the screen, scene flashes of black haired girl and some reflections of her at certain moments. It didn't wow me but I loved what it tried. Has anyone seen the original Hills have Eyes lately? I really miss the edge Wes Craven used to have with his films.

ETA: Huggins, never talked to him and never really wanted too. Always came off like a super dick.
  11. Some Eagle fans complaining? Wow, that's a shocker. Must be a day that ends in Y. Maybe they haven't learned that signing for the sake of signing isn't what wins you the title in the NFL.
  12. I cannot believe the Niners traded him. Alex Smith officially has no one to throw to. Talk about being thrown into the damn fire and being left to burn.
  13. To be fair, he did die in a prison cell. Sorta works for me.
  14. Talk about a title game that really means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Kansas vs Texas, means something to the Big 12 fans but for those of us just wanting to get to the selection show it's just a time filler.
  15. If that offensive line plays like the potential it has, the Cards better do some damage or Dennis Green might be fired. Getting Bidwell to spend big money on two players means you better win or you better pack your bags.
  16. That was a pretty bad decision though. He didn't even have a mildly good look. Well, SC is history and will head to the NIT. And ESPN looking real stupid by airing the Digger-Jay thing talking about if SC wins the SEC when we now know SC lost the SEC.
  17. Which is still more interesting than "Black/White". This show just seems to find people from old movies or tv series that you go, "hey! I know you!" How long before the two Coreys show up as terrorist leaders or FBI agents? Loved the episode, HATED that Edgar had to die and Kim gets to live. Kim's purpose ran out last season. But I really get the feeling they needed someone who would have emotional impact on the fans while the only impact Kim's death offers now is cheering.
  18. Each new trailer that came out made me less and less interested in the film. Course the original had some horrendously bad acting from the family members.
  19. Florida State more than likely sneaks in from beating Maryland, Miami and Duke, essentially tagging two bubble teams while none of the other bubble teams made a case. I still don't think they belong in, but I can see them grabbing a 12 or 13 seed just because they won 9 in the ACC. Mizz St gets in, Creighton, Mason and Hofstra all get shown the door. If South Carolina wins, Mizz St will be shown the door. Memphis gets the 1 seed for winning their conference and essentially doing what they had to do.
  20. Tron 9/10 Seriously, I find it sad I enjoy the computer graphics of Tron more than the CGI crap that is being used in movies now. I don't even want to think about what a remake of TRON would look like.
  21. Apparently so they can drink beer and harass Melina while she's "on trial". It's a complete joke for a publicly traded company to allow crap like this to go on. It helps when the verdict is gangbang
  22. As much as we complain about the tastelessness, some people apparently eat it up. (Remember how the Dominick segments got better ratings than anything else on Smackdown last year?) Wrestling is not a business where the acceptable norms of behavior are generally applicable, it would seem. Or some people just like saving money. Yeah, tasteless or not it was Christmas time and when you have lots of junk to buy you look for sales. If I actually bought WWE products (only way I can boycott the product is not spend money on it), then a good 35% savings around Christmas would be excellent.
  23. So Vince against the Network? Only if they bring in Cyrus with an NBC press pass to walk out and say, "EXCUSE ME! EXCUSE ME!" Then just make him GM, say it was ordered by NBC and Vince complied because he knew what's good for filling his pockets with cash.
  24. Well, the teachers union near me has officially pissed me and my family off. About two years ago, our district approved two refs for two new high schools that rose our taxes to a near breaking level but not enough to cripple anyone. It took two or three tries just to approve it after some extreme comforts were removed from the budget (they wanted a giant swimming pool in the school, not gonna happen). It wasn't that anyone didn't WANT to give them the money, it was we couldn't come close to affording to give them the money they were asking. Well, this newest one they announced two weeks ago WILL do exactly what we all fought hard to avoid last time. They want a pay increase that'll cost us about .15 cents on every 100 dollars on the assessed value of your home. Needless to say, NO ONE in the county and barely anyone in the state can afford it except for the god damn teachers asking for the raise. The max wage where we live is 14 dollars an hour, if you are one of the lucky few to nail down a job like that. Hell, I had one for about 11 dollars an hour and that's considered good money around here. Small state, most corporate jobs up state, tourist county blah blah. This is the third raise they have asked for, the residents agreed to the first one that simply put the teachers in a tax bracket way above everyone else in the county and was what nearly killed the district from getting the schools in the first place but that wasn't enough. Now they want to be the highest paid people in state to the point the district can't afford to pay them. Look don't get me wrong, I think teachers do deserve money (some more than others, some of em deserve a pay cut for being lazy jerks). But if a district economy cannot afford to give it to them, you can't give it to them. We are a small district that has to support 7 schools (soon to be 9, with frickin AIR CONDITIONING which is going to drive up taxes even MORE in two years, something ELSE the teachers complained for) and they are asking for this insanity. The pay increase ref has pissed everyone off and has the teachers crying they don't make enough (which is bull in this case). They make 50,000 a year in our district, a good 12,000 above the next highest wage. I'm starting to see why some people hate some teacher's unions. Some teachers are underpaid, but these freaks are over the line where we live. Driving up the taxes like this in the district is going to end up doing one thing, costing them a job from cost cutting measures when people start moving (which has already started to happen). And for those asking, "Why won't the state increase their wages?". Fat chance. The state is already dealing with crazed increase demands from the upper counties.
  25. He's kinda like the T-1000 in T-2 only sand instead of liquid metal Yeah, except the T-1000 probably could have beaten a vacuum cleaner. I'm not trying to be cute, in his first appearance Spider-man seriously beat Sandman by hoovering him up with a household vacuum cleaner. Crafty villian that Sandman. Why didn't they use Mysterio or Chameleon again? Unless he's being held for part 3 to be the ultimate Spiderman mind-screw, I think they are missing a huge chance with him.
