Thomas Haden Church cast as villain for Spider-Man
2GOLD replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
It just looks like the street below to me. I have it on full enlarge and it doesn't look like anything but an alleyway to me. -
Kid mentioned it in one of his interviews. I want to see a Down Syndrome kid start on the high school football team. Now that's a feel good story. Or a kid who worked through his disability to make it on the team and prove himself. That's an amazing story. And I know there are a couple of kids who have done that. Where the heck are the stories for those poor kids?

Gee, you think the first taping could have MORE Jarrett? Please, we need more! I mean, being involved in every segment doesn't sound like enough. More! MORE! Also, how many times have the Naturals lost to AMW because one of them gets handcuffed to the barricade/railing? Maybe next time they face AMW, they should both have a handcuff key stuffed in their trunks. The matches don't sound bad and Eric Young is awesome so I'm fine with it, but for the most part it just sounds like way too much JJ and not enough Brown/Christian.
-
*sigh* You should have known better. And you know it.
-
So he just needs to find this generation's Ricky Steamboat and this generation's Sting and he'll be fine?
-
That was impressive.

I'm not saying Young will be a horrible player. I'm saying teams haven't liked the way he throws the ball for quite some time and they are the ones who are worried about his test score. I still think he'll make up for it with interviews and workouts. I can just see Cutler jumping him because teams like the fact he was part of the combines instead of doing a speciality workout.
-
This has stopped them before? No, but I'd like to think they did it for someone useful and not for Ric "For christ sake put on a shirt" Flair.
-
I still think they'll go with Flair vs Carlito at SNME. Otherwise, they really made him look like a giant fool and might have done damage.

The argument comparing Vince Young to Rich Gannon's throwing motion isn't exactly helping the Young argument. Gannon was pretty much back-up fodder and he needed Tim Brown and Jerry Rice to get to the MVP. Gannon had two good years with his motion and it took two of the NFL's best receivers on his team to get him to that season. Young has two major things on his side. His speed and his height and those are HUGE to scouts when picking a QB. The major questions about Vince Young remain the same. His throwing motion (delivery and speed of release), his intellgience (will be be smart enough to get down in the NFL), and how he adjusts to different systems but that one goes to all quarterbacks. If he has a good workout and interview, he'll be ok. If he struggles in his workouts and does poorly on interviews, his stock will plummet. But even with a falling stock, teams need quarterbacks this year so he's safe. He might get passed by Cutler but that's not a big deal.

The thing is Cena fights using the WWE style. If you watch any of the call-ups with the WWE, they are all miserable. Cena in OVW as the Prototype was very good. Hell, he was good when he first came up but it's been a slow downgrade in moveset. In fact, one of Cena's original moves on Smackdown was a ground headlock for crap sake. Remember the original look of the FU? It was an actual DVD. Now look at it, it's been reduced to a fireman's carry. Five Knuckle Shuffle? Hello People's Elbow or Austin's double finger elbow. I mean, what the hell? I'm not sure if it's Cena sucks or he has just been neutered to the brink of worthless.

I think part of the problem is people got tired of Vanilla Ice. No, they tired of a thug with no sack. Real thugs don't fight the odds against mean guys, they don't give a shit and fuck someone, anyone, up. Note what sorts of reactions he got for the brawl with JBL at Judgment Day last year. Not only that, but they talk a LOT of shit. Cena hasn't talked some real shit in a very, very, VERY long time. It's all smiles and working up the crowd. Cena was doing very well as his own character. Then WWE gave him horrid catchphrases, eliminated his raps because they no longer believe good guys can be edgy (yeah, didn't work for that Rock or Austin guy), he started telling lame ass SNLish gay jokes, and the crowd turned on him. That wasn't Cena's fault, that was pure and simple destruction of a character. He sorta got back to his character after the Rumble VERY briefly. Then they turned him into the white Will Smith as soon as he got the belt back. And HHH is the last man in the company who should be saying "limited moveset".
-
Ok, NOW they are acting stupid. The guy went online, explained what he did and actually took heat off TNA for suspending him.
-
Probably, because it sells merch better than the other belt for some ungodly reason. I think he'll keep it while Cena stays in the title picture awaiting full burial. As stupid as the spinner belt is, I've never cared. I'm far more concerned with who is carrying the top belt than what it looks like.
-
How many prospects have they dropped the ball with? Doug and Damaja spring to mind as well as the Heartthrobs and I really hope they don't add Johnny Jeter and Ken Doane. Maybe Matt Morgan can count as one but I'm not sure. Am I forgetting anyone Zack?
-
I'm not cheering a HHH title win. Sorry, but I'll take Vanilla Cena over the King of Burials HHH. Nothing good comes from a HHH title run. Nothing.

I was glad TNA didn't sign Foley. Least Sting might have some gas left in the tank. Foley hasn't had gas in the tank since his matches with HHH. -
Unless they invented a potion that brings Layne Staley back from the dead, doesn't make me want to see it. It's like the Queen reunion, without Freddie it wasn't Queen. Without Staley, it's not Alice In Chains.

Carlito and Flair will probably end up fighting at SNME for the spot in the MITB. If not, then we have to go through Kane/Show vs Masters/Carlito at Mania again. And the crowd has turned on Foley because they know this song and dance. He comes back, loses and leaves till Mania time the next year. It's stale and old. It's like the Repo Man showing up and challenging someone to a match on PPV. No one believes he can win so why bother reacting to him? -
I'd imagine USA is going to air the whole thing. With Spike it just seemed like they were showing Hogan and screw the rest. But there are only going to be like, what? Four inductees? Two hours would handle it. Hell, hour and a half should be able to handle it.

Solie knew ahead of time what was going to happen. Apart from Hunter, the heel, burying Cena, the babyface, was there anything else of interest on Raw? Candice Michelle DIDN'T win a belt. I consider that a plus. RVD's "I'm over" suit was pretty funny. Cena's HHH impression was pretty damn good. After that, I got nothing. It was a RAW that was just kinda there. Just the push to Wrestlemania show with Foley announcing he'll have the same damn match at Mania he ALWAYS has at Mania. I mean, what was the difference? That the lead singer of Puddle of Mudd will be fighting him? -

Remember when we used to have to defend wrestling from people who called it gay? Yeah, you know we can no longer defend it now. Wrestling is really really gay. When you got an oiled up muscle man shoving a man's face into another man's ass, you officially earn gay status. -
the official who is on your ignore list thread
2GOLD replied to Annabelle's topic in No Holds Barred
The ignore list is real? Man, I've never felt the need to ignore anyone. Not even that Housewife guy. -
Leaf had aggression issues. It was never a question of talent. He just could never get control of his anger. Chargers just never got him help and that was one of the things every scout in the league agreed he was going to need when he was drafted. Chargers ignored it and paid for it.

Yeah, I love TNA and all but it has no shot in hell against the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame isn't even really about the E so much as honoring some wrestling legends. It just happens to be WWE named.
