Earlier this morning I went to my regular Tues-Thurs class only to see one of my classmates had brought his baby to class. Normally I don't have a problem with people bringing their kids to class, except those kids are usually at least 5 years old and capable of staying quiet, while this baby was probably between 6 months to a year old. I should note here that I'm already not a big fan of babies as is and I only start to like and interact with kids after about 4 or so. Before class started, everyone else in the room (a small class, only 10 of us) was of course "Awww look at the baby" and such until class began, at which point everyone got quiet so we could start... everyone except the baby that is, who was being a noisy little thing while everyone else was just sorta laughing it off. After a couple minutes of this, I decided I couldn't take anymore and ran through the list of options in my mind: 1. Try to ignore it and tough it out for the next hour 2. Get pissed (well, more pissed anyway) and let loose in some verbal way 3. Pack up and walk out I probably wasn't going to do #1, and I knew that #2 would have bigger consequences than I wanted to deal with, so I opted for #3. I figure I'll probably be perceived as this big baby-hating bad person now [cynicism]since society has convinced us that if you don't like babies, you must be a BAD PERSON[/cynicism], but I don't really care. Thoughts? Similar experiences?

Another thing, not mentioned yet, that I hated about FF8 was the salary system. I remember, at the time it came out, arguing with people saying "But it's like real life, no more monsters inexplicably carrying money around!", to which I'd respond "I don't fucking play Final Fantasy for an emulation of the real world."

Check the second post of the thread My favorite is the video game world segment. The Wizard of Oz parody also sticks out in my head, mostly just because I'm from Kansas and therefore will never escape the WoO association

I used to be one of those disillusioned Repubs VX is referring to, though I eventually flushed the last remnants of Republicanism out of my system around '00 or so. I was raised Catholic by conservative (and Republican) parents and therefore followed the same ideology under the belief that conservatism did, in fact, represent smaller government. After I became cynical about religion, I felt there was no longer any justification for any of my previous views that were based on religion (notably being anti-abortion and anti-gay rights) and consequently adopted the opposite view, hence I moved from being conservative to libertarian. I can't in good conscience become a liberal (in the sense of the ironic modern definition) because then I would have to see reason for major government control of industry, something I've never agreed with, so a libertarian I shall remain. One thing about becoming libertarian is it caused me to see the lie in the perception that conservatives believe in small government when in fact they want a big government like libs, just for different reasons (see also: moral crusade)

Looks like I got me a gay-fag stalker. My friend Mr. 12-Gauge should take care of that. I'm still fearing for my life here, ya know

VX, the last two years were funny like that 2003: Vikings lose playoff spot to GB (and earn even more ridicule from Packers fans) on the last-second loss to Arizona. GB loses to Philly in the divisional 2004: Vikings beat GB at Lambeau to make up for 2003. Lose to Philly in the divisional So apparently Philly is the real problem here...

I consider the '03 and '04 seasons together to be a zero-sum balance.

Where'd you get that pic of my backyard?

Last night was the first time I'd ever seen Jurassic Bark too. Definitely a heart-tugger (can't say I cried, but it did it's best to try) right up there with Luck of the Fryrish, plus it had some hilarious moments intermittent with the serious stuff ("Robopuppy to commence 2 hours of yipping... yip! yip! yip!" *kick* "Robopuppy activating mistreatment alarm!") To my list above I would have to add "Bicyclops Built for Two" (if only for the great Married with Children parody) and "Time Keeps on Slipping" (for all the Harlem Globetrotter stuff)

You sure talk a lot for someone I just called gay
-
Being contrary just for the sake of doing so = equally as gay As for MIW's post, I wouldn't worry about it, since apparently Crono's IQ is so boosted by his own board that he can defend himself from verbal attacks there in ways he couldn't possibly do here That or he'll just delete the post, whichever...

Maybe if you related it in some way to Muslim Nazis... -

Between this, the new pope and the apparently fictitious lynching of a couple white girls, it's been quite the week in Current Events (or is it "Muslim Events" now) -
Many Catholics Not Ready to Let Go of Pope John Paul

Yes, join ussss... We have Denis Leary and Clint Eastwood... Hey man, free Kool-Aid and snacks at all the meetings. Can't beat that. What about good looking women? Erm, Kennedy from MTV long ago? ...you're out of the club

"Circle-jerk" is becoming so trite that I wonder if people actually know or remember what it means

They should change the name from "Current Events" to "Muslim Events" -
How about that Muslim Pope, anyway?

If anime has taught me anything, 13-16 is prime.
