Eh, it asked me to subscribe before I could see this. What's the gist of it? -
Do the astronauts get to have modern day weapons? If so, I'd pick them.

From Yahoo sports... 49ers: Owens fails to file free agency papers by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com Thursday, February 26, 2004 News David Joseph might want to think about a new line of work. SportsLine.com's Jay Glazer reported that Joseph, the agent of 49ers' wide receiver Terrell Owens, failed to send in the necessary paperwork to void the last three years of the Pro Bowler's contract. As a result, Owens will not be a free agent until after the 2006 season. Browns' receiver Dennis Northcutt made a similar gaffe on Wednesday, taking another wide receiver off an already thin free agent market. Would you like to be the one to tell Terrell this? Looks like it should be good times in San Fran this year.

I think that Symantec updates automatically daily on my computer. I just checked and it was updated today so I ran it again and no viruses were detected. Do you know what the symptoms of this new virus are? Is there something I should be looking for?

Today in my work email account, I got an email that said "see this!" in the subject. The inside body only said "is this your cd?" and it had a ZIP file attached. I scanned the file for diseases and then opened it and it was a work project from a shared drive at work and an excel spreadsheet from my hard drive. The email came from [email protected] or something like that. Anyone ever had something similar happen? Can someone get into my works shared drive and send the information back to me?

How about saving taxpayers millions, possibly billions of dollars in subsidies for an "alternative lifestyle" with no commensurate need homosexuals can demonstrate? Married heterosexual couples use the money they save on tax breaks to feed, clothe, and educate their children. In most homosexual couples both partners earn a salary and neither has children. Tax breaks? Government-sanctioned benefits? Societal gratitude, approval, and endorsement? Why? How have they earned it, any of it? What exactly are they giving to the community by getting married? So, if a married couple doesn't intend to have children, they shouldn't be considered married? I have no intentions of having kids but will be getting married in a couple of years, should we be filling out special forms since we're not giving back to society? Also, just because you were smart enough to have power of attorney and a living will, does that mean every gay couple was? I don't think it's just for the laws of society to punish stupid gay couples, but not stupid straight couples who are in the same situation. -
This was the first episode i've missed all season. Figures. I had never watched the show before, but my girlfriend got me into it now. Really, really good television.

I scanned my whole computer though and no viruses were detected.

I'd go with Deng or Chris Paul from Wake. Kid's an amazing player and carried them to a big win over the Dukies. He also had a monster game against Cincinatti and plays one of the toughest positions (PG) for a young player to handle.

I agree with that and hope that the mayor was prepared for such things to happen. Although, I don't think that this merits jail time. He brought his agenda to the national spotlight, but I don't think he did his job as an elected government official and I definitely would not object to him being removed from office. -
Thanks Bored. I had actually repressed any and all memories of that song, but now they're back. If I remember right, they stole the Beastie's "steal your woman like I stole your bike" line too.

I got somewhere in the 1300's, but I took it before they pussied it down for you youngsters (they made the scoring easier in 95 or 96).

I think it was the Chemical Brothers, but I heard a remix of "Funk Show Brother" and "Statisfaction" by the Stones that I really dug.

When I saw this topic that was the first thing I thought of before even entering. Then I read the responses and remembered that Girls & boys song. I actually said that it was the worst song I've ever heard the first time that it was on and so I think that I'll stand by that.

I think that we should break laws that we disagree with in theory. Civil disobediance should be a last alternative, but it is sometimes needed to progress. Without Civil disobediance, who knows how long this country would have had segregation. If you believe strongly enough in something to risk the legal repercusions, then I admire you for doing it. -

"It also COMPLETELY flies in the face of support of homosexual marriage." I disagree. You are only looking at the moral objection to incest and no others. The birth defect rate is significantly higher for incestuous relationships. Also, research shows that a significant amount of incestuous relationships are forced upon one member and often begin with a rape or other sexual assault. I have not heard of homosexuality causing harm to anyone. -

I didn't put them in the same category. I've said that the reasoning to legalize gay marriage would also, necessarily, legalize incestual marriage. Again, as I pointed out, you cannot name an actual, legal reason to oppose it that would pass legal muster. As you said, you don't see any reason why gay marriage isn't legal --- don't think, for a moment, that a group gung-ho for incestual marriage won't come out. Don't think some "couples" won't test the system. I don't think that you can argue this point. Incest is an illegal act, homosexuality is not, so an incestuous couple could not argue the same as a homosexual couple. -

I really don't see how a gay couple getting married is any different than a straight couple getting married. All that they want is equal rights and protection under the law. I've yet to hear any valid reasons against it. I accept that Mike's reasons for why he opposes judges ruling in favor of gay marriages are valid, but I disagree with them. What I am saying though is that no one has ever presented to me an even semi-logical reason as to why a gay couple should be denied the right to marry. -
I agree that Kerry can be criticized for his voting records on defense and that it is not a shot at his patriotism. It's a legitimate criticism of the man. I don't agree with bashing him because he spoke his mind after returning from Vietnam. That was his right, especially if he considered our actions over there to be unjust. Sorry to post on-topic.

My buddy used to play these guys all the time in college. They had a song about getting Marmaduke Naked or something that I really liked then. Don't have a clue what it was called though.

History has taught us repeatedly that sometimes that's what you have to do to be given the same human dignities as everyone else. Ask Rosa Parks about this. I think that she'll agree with you.

John Kerry: Shredding documents and abandoning
C Dubya 04 replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Current Events
I don't know what Kerry saw or didn't in Vietnam, only he does, but I know people who served, and they tell very similar stories from over there. I believe that Kerry probably saw at least a good portion of what he reported. We don't like to admit it, but some of our soldiers did those horid things over there. -
I think that both sides need to admit that there will be negative things said during the campaign. It's amazing that anyone would deny that. I'm a democrat and I think it's horseshit to bring up if Bush served or not. But, I don't for a second believe that the Republicans won't be digging up just as much petty shit about whomever runs.

I've seen Strangefolk a few times and really enjoyed them. Didn't know they were still around though. I'd be pushing for anything involving Warren Haynes so Allman Brothers, Gov't Mule, Phil Lesh & Friends and The Dead would all be great. Also I'm down with all the bands mentioned, but would add The Disco Biscuits, Jack Johnson, Widespread, Leftover Salmon and P Funk (for the fun of it).
