  1. I don't think JBL is losing the title anytime soon. Taker doesn't need a World Title run. That'd be terrible. And how are they "hinting" or "heading" toward Angle/Taker for WM? Because they've not interacted with each other at all yet. I don't even get the "feel" they'd cross paths. Taker just DID the "fight through a stable to get to the title" thing.
  2. Al Snow has a mainstream WWE PPV victory in September 2003 at Unforgiven. The list ranks Sept 2003 to Aug 2004 btw.
  3. Here's what I think. HHH and Orton will be a solid WM Main event. I've watched the main event from Unforgiven three times. The match itself is decent, but the last 5 minutes is *extremely* heat-filled, with false finishes and the crowd going nuts for Orton. I think the program will work will leading up to Mania. Everyone is like "Orton wins the Rumble..." Does he need to? I think the Orton/HHH program will have enough heat to not require a Rumble win. In fact, I think they'll do the "Orton MUST win the Rumble to get a title shot" deal, only to have HHH/Evolution interfere and cost Orton the Rumble. Orton can win a "mini Raw Rumble" or something in February. So what remains? I predict JBL will successfully defend the WWE Title at WrestleMania. I also think, with Orton/HHH being a focus, that they need to have someone win the Rumble that is only a slight favorite, or maybe not even a favorite. So I think that having say, Rey Mysterio win the 2005 Royal Rumble would do many things: - Put a solid, OVER talent in his home base (California) going up against the established champion. - Truly, for once, establish the Rumble as "ANYONE can win it!" - Fool us into thinking he could win it. So go Rey Mysterio, my pick to win the 2005 Royal Rumble.
  4. The PWI 500 is not based on "who has better wrestling ability - Jushin Liger or JBL" It is based on: Who had a more successful year - JBL or Liger? Who garnered more mainstream attention - JBL or Liger? Who has better technical skill - JBL or Liger? Who was involved in more big-time matches - JBL or Liger? Who showed more improvement - JBL or Liger? Who won more big time matches - JBL or Liger? Who lost more big time matches? JBL or Liger? Who did the most with a push? JBL or Liger? Who won more important titles? JBL or Liger? Who had a better W/L record? JBL or Liger? Not "who is the smark darling" or "who can wrestler better"... Figure that into your calculations, as well as OVW time (Morgan, Moredecai, Eugene, etc.) before you bash it. The list has a few noticeable errors, but otherwise is pretty accurate. Keep in mind the time period, as well. September 2003 to August 2004.
  5. Test & Shane McMahon are not good wrestlers. They had a very emotional/exciting match at SummerSlam 1999.
  6. Yuck, that match was AWFUL (Kane/Test No Mercy 2001), and I was a big Test mark during the Alliance run and "T & A" years.
  7. The list is based on kayfabe victories, win-loss, strength of competition, major accomplishments, etc. For guys like Eugene, Tomko, etc....count their success in OVW before coming to Raw in April.
  8. The Cubs are not going to make the playoffs because they are doing the little things wrong and losing to poor teams as a result. Also, they're now playing a good Braves team and will soon be mathematically eliminated.
  9. I always found D'Lo Brown highly overrated. His "great" matches in WWE were at a time when the overall ring-work was down, so I think that played into his "being a great wrestler". The guy has talent. He's a good wrestler. But it's still D'Lo Brown. He didn't impress me in TNA, where he should've flourished. My fav. D'Lo match ever (IMO his best match) was against Val Venis @ SSlam 98.
  10. Untrue posted fetus in signature big mouth obviously suckled the tit from the flesh.
  11. "What ever happend to the DVDR 500?" Answer: We shred it and the guy who posts it here to pieces each time it pops up, as it deserves to be.
  12. Foley DID win a match. He teamed with Shelton Benjamin, Shawn Michaels, & Chris Benoit to defeat Evolution prior to Backlash.
  13. Hey! You're okay. Good job, Mod.
  14. I remember getting friends to watch the Raw where World Champion Hulk Hogan fought William Regal. They mocked Hogan's wrinkled self and laughed at me for suggesting anything involving an old, washed up has been as the champion could be entertaining. Same will go for Hall & Nash, methinks.
  15. Rod Steele deserves higher. Not that he's awesome or anything, but the #500 position?
  16. I thought the end of WM 17's main event killed it. "The ultimate rebel needed Vince's help...fantastic storyline!" Bullshit. Austin always was one-up on Rock. WM 15. IYH-DX. Backlash 99. Now he needs VINCE to save him? Lame. Plus, 50 chairshots to bludgeon a guy and pin him = Minus a Star from me. AND IT WAS DONE IN TEXAS. The "drama" (and failed heel turn) was negated by the crowd, who loved every minute of it. Still, a **** bout, but highly overrated.
  17. Steiners Vs. Bulldogs? I'd book Rick & Scott in 1990-91 form, as they were better together then in 1989, when they first started. Also, in WEMBLEY STADIUM? Awful decision, as the Steiners "big pops" from their exciting move style would be killed by the pro-British crowd. Plus The Steiners should go over...they're the best tag team in the history of wrestling. Book it !
  18. Upon checking.....6 of the 8 threads from top down are "Fantasy" sports... Take that shit elsewhere, PLEASE
  19. What is the last time Scott Hall & Kevin Nash have teamed in a 2 on 2 tag match as the Outsiders? Over 4 years. I'd like to see it again.
  20. Can you guys create a seperate area within, or outside, the Sports section for all the "Fantasy" threads? All these contests and such are cluttering up the board. You've got one guy with a topic on a Week 5 Fantasy pick em and then ANOTHER thread for the Week 5 results, etc. And a lot of different sports have these threads. It's annoying. I want to discuss threads, not play "guess who wins" in this thread.
  21. "You've captured their stunt doubles!" :::old man dressed as John Candy smoking::: :::older "Lone Star" with a moustache::: :::Princess has a beard:::
  22. "Is this really the blood of Christ?" "Why yes it is." "Man, that guy must have been wasted !"
  23. Weird, I saw a bunch of the GQ issues unbagged.
  24. The best Sting/DDP match was mentioned, however, incorrectly. It occurred in early 1998, before Sting dropped the belt to Savage, not late 1998.
  25. Why isnt Mick Foley ranked? Lawrence Taylor was ranked after 1 WM match, even got a "Rookie of the Year" nomination. Foley was in Rumble 04, Mania XX match, Backlash 04 match, plus an 8 man on Raw.
