I am thrilled the Williams is in, as it just means it is more likely a top notch WR makes it to the Eagles. Hell, there are probably at least four WRs in this draft who would be the top WR in most other drafts (Fitz, and the 3 Williams').

To answer in a real way If I were to really set it up: Instead of cash you get experience points. Baltic = Sign a developmental deal Boardwalk = Win title at WM You use your experience points to succeed (buy) in reaching those accomplishments. When someone lands on one of your spots the equivalent of renting the spot could be they try to take that spot from you and fail. Therefore costing them experience points to you. Jail = Injury Go = Completed year (experience points gained over year) Railroads: Various jobs Commisioner Guest Announcer Special Referee GM Utility: Raw Roulette Smackdown Roulette (think of some equivalent) Luxury tax: Injured teammate (lose experience points)
-
Just parking = Creative has nothing for you (Is that the name of the spot, I forget?)

My picks: Oakland Kansas City Red Sox WC- Yankees Phillies Cubs Padres WC- Astros AL MVP: Arod AL Cy Young: Tim Hudson NL MVP: Pujols NL Cy Young: Kris Benson (sorry, channeling Peter Gammons a few years ago) NL Cy Young: Mark Prior As for Pettite, did the Yankees even give him a contract offer?

I don't think the Ravens will get TO. I think it was CNNSI.com that had an article about the Ravens offseason plans and they stated they weren't jumping in feet first and offering stupid money to anyone. I think someone will offer stupid money to Owens and the Ravens will be out as a result. And Philly can be crossed off that list now. That isn't happening.

Dama, in Philly the fans mourned for about 4 months after the Eagles lost to Tampa Bay in the NFC championship two seasons ago. So you still might have a couple more months of that ahead of you.

"Steinberg did not say Brunell received any guarantees from Gibbs about the starting job." BWAHAHAHA, that's a good one. Here Mark, take this 43 million dollars, but you might not start. Makes me happy though, waste a whole lot of money on a spot where they already had a quality player. I wonder if the three losers are now going to get into a bidding war over Jeff Garcia.

God bless you, Sass. Long live Fertig.

FUCK, the more I think about it I am really getting pissed about the trade. Vandermeer was a fan favorite, a quality young defenseman, and a tough guy who isn't a liability on the ice and all they get back is a 33 year old, unrestricted free agent, who only will really get you 20 goals a season. FUCK. CC, do you have that Clarke picture handy?
-
Flyers acquired Alexei Zhamnov and a fourth round pick from Chicago for Jim Vandermeer, Colin Fraser, and a second round pick. I understand that they got strapped for forwards after trading Comrie, Williams, and Primeau Roenick getting injured, but I am pissed off that they had to trade Vandermeer. Besides the fact it is fun as hell watching him fight, I think he is going to be a very quality player in this league. He can be a physical force on the blue line and as a bonus he has shown flashes of offensive ability.

I wonder if Albert Belle is still listed.

Ah, I see. Guess I will get them in tomorrow then. The benefits of a job with little workload and lots of computer access.

Al, I think you addressed this in another thread (I forget/can't find it), but when is the autopick draft?
-
I look at it this way. You have Toronto, NJ, NY, and Buffalo. Who are the biggest stars out of that group of four teams? Jagr and Brodeur So the casual fan probably looks at it as wanting the game where they see the biggest stars. Granted I doubt many people anymore go "Oh my god, I have to see Jagr.", but compared to the players on Toronto and Buffalo he would be the likely one to get that reaction.

Once this season ends, and players go into FA, how many players are the Hawks going to have left on their roster?

Signed up for both leagues ChrisSaboGoggle-rama

No, I think it is statements like this where it automatically becomes jealousy about not being included in the greatest rivalry ever yet one team has a .550 winning percentage against the other with 26 world series wins while the other has.........

The One And Only 24 Season 3 Thread
the pinjockey replied to Spicy McHaggis's topic in Television & Film
Fuck yeah! This is the Jack Bauer we have been missing this season. Screw this play nice with the Salazar's shit, badass Jack Bauer rules the fucking world. -
I was in one once where it was 20 teams, mixed league, and you started: C 1B 2B 3B SS Corner Infielder Middle Infielder OF OF OF OF OF 2 SP 2 RP 3 P That was quite interesting. The league was so strapped for players I actually had the big hitting Indians SS John McDonald in my lineup.

My problem with the heart comment is the fact that scouts of old didn't look for heart either. They looked for a swing, tools, and a body. I doubt many scouts went to high school games looking for the heart a player put into the game. So if you want to bring up heart, it is retarded to assume it was measured before. And what type of "unconventional" numbers did Gibson have? What the hell is an "unconventional" number?

In regards to Driefort, there is no evidence he can stay healthy for half a season. So to have that kind of money tied up in him is overpaying no matter the circumstances. Also, he has a habit of walking people, in his last healthy season (2000) he was very homer prone (which in LA is wrong) and he hit a good amount of people (12) and threw wild pitches (17). And save for one great year as a reliever, his top ERA+ is 104 with a career ERA+ of 95.

It is ESPN's list so they might have what they made last year. I am surprised they have Trammel and Giambi on there if that is the case though.

"But they will screech if the kid is instead hired to be baseball's Doogie Howser, surgically removing payroll until the Dodgers become a middle-market team with middle-market aspirations." First of all, who said that he will automatically want to run it like a middle market team. Do you think if Billy Beane had 100 mil to play with he would sign lesser people? No, he would go after the superstars who have the different traits they look for. Second of all, how dare he make an attempt to trim the LA payroll. He better not go near the contracts of overpriced players such as Green, Dreifort, Ashby, Hundley, Shuey, Beltre and Encarnacion. We want to spend money stupidly. That is only 50 mil being spent on those players. The nerd probably would just cut the payroll and sit on that money. 1. Shawn Green 15,666,667 2. Darren Dreifort 12,400,000 3. Andy Ashby 8,500,000 4. Hideo Nomo 7,750,000 5. Todd Hundley 6,500,000 6. Robin Ventura 5,000,000 7. Jeff Weaver 4,150,000 8. Paul Shuey 3,916,667 9. Adrian Beltre 3,700,000 10. Juan Encarnacion 3,450,000 11. Odalis Perez 3,400,000 12. Paul Lo Duca 2,636,667 13. Bubba Trammell 2,500,000 14. Jeremy Giambi 2,000,000 15. Alex Cora 1,150,000 16. Jose Hernandez 1,000,000 17. Tanyon Sturtze 1,000,000 18. Guillermo Mota 675,000 19. Rick White 600,000 20. Eric Gagne 550,000 21. Jolbert Cabrera 435,000 22. Dave Roberts 400,000 23. Cesar Izturis 335,000 24. Mike Kinkade 320,000 25. Jason Romano 302,500 26. Shane Victorino 300,000 27. Derek Thompson 300,000 28. Steve Colyer 300,000

The number I saw somewhere for Blalock was 5 yrs/15 mil. If that is the case the Rangers just made a steal, to get him at 3 mil a year. Even though he would have been cheap for the next two years, they will easily make up the money in a couple years during what would have been his three arbitration years.
