Interesting development in the TO situation as the Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that, since he skipped the mandatory mini-camp, the Eagles can exercise an option to recoup 1.8 million of the signing bonus he received last year. I think it is about time he realizes he has a losing hand ,comes back to play out the year and see where it goes from there.

Ahem.... Fucking A! Serenity trailer on Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Big screen Mal....Big screen River kicking ass......big screen Serenity. I want now dammit.
-
Damn, White did not even sign a FA contract. He just got an invite to the Chiefs mini-camp. I am surprised he did not even latch on as an undrafted free agent somewhere.
-
How the hell can they not throw New York in there? I mean, I could get greedy and ask for Philly, but I'd be willing to do New York.

Worst sports moment: 2001 Daytona 500 Worst kick in the teeth sports moment: Joe Jurevicious' reception in the NFC title game in 2003.

I thought Cade McNown was going to be the best QB in the Class of '99.

It doesn't help that he lost a year of NFL development time. He will be 25 going into training camp (I am assuming someone will sign him). You are getting into an area where he is getting old without a lot of upside.

Browner, the CB from Oregon State, is the guy I am shocked to see go undrafted. To be a 6' 4" CB and go undrafted he must have killed someone's dog or something. To not even take a 7th round flyer on him seems odd.

Note from a John Clayton article about Travis Henry "Henry, however, was the one trade that should have happened and didn't. In late February, the Cardinals were ready to make an L.J. Shelton-for-Henry trade. It was a $3 million left tackle for a running back. The Bills wanted more, asking the Cardinals to swap their better position in the second round. Donahoe held firm and thought he would get a trade when the Eagles showed interest. Then came the Bucs. The best offer was a fourth-rounder from the Eagles. The Bills held to the third. On Friday, the Cardinals didn't return Buffalo's phone calls. Donahoe didn't budge on his demand for more. Like a greedy gambler, Donahoe didn't know how to fold 'em and watched the Bucs, Cardinals and Eagles draft first-day running backs. Now, he's stuck with Henry, who will probably hold out. Donahoe liked Shelton to a certain degree but Bills coaches didn't. In the end, the Bills didn't get value and have a distraction in Henry, and they might lose him and get nothing in return after the 2005 season, when his contract is up."

I believe Blackstock went in round 3 (edit: Arizona at 95). Also, FYI, the Eagles-Niners trade at the end was the Eagles 3rd rounder for the Niners 4th and 6th rounders (first pick in each round). The Eagles now have 10 picks tomorrow. It is going to be interesting to see what they do with them.
-
This coverage is a joke. How do you skip 3 picks and a trade in the SECOND ROUND? I understand doing that on day 2, but to skip second round picks to do packages on guys you are going to show 10 times tomorrow is a disgrace. I was shocked the Eagles did not take Barnes with the second round pick. After all the talk that he might be someone they could trade up to get, when they passed him over at 35 was odd.

Now it will be 15 minutes for the Titans to tell us they are taking a CB.

This is the point where you have to start to feel for Rodgers, because if he doesn't go here only Arizona is keeping him from a freefall.
-
Wow, an hour to make four straight chalk picks. The top of the draft is craaazzzzeeee.
-
Stop saying NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE god dammit.
-
It would take some real brass ones though to take Rodgers and essentially use their first two picks on QBs this year. My advice to them is to take Brown and throw this season, then draft Leinart next year.
-
I think we see trade here to get Braylon Edwards. If Saban is really looking for picks that bad, I think he ends up taking the best offer on the table.
-
Dear god I hope they don't run that bell sound during every pick. Everyone seems to have a ca..ca...case of the stutters today.
-
Is anyone else surprised that they brought in a player to sit with the crew and it wasn't Corey Chavous? I think he earned that since he has been a part of the last few drafts and seemed to really know what he was talking about.
-
Well, Saban got his second round pick. Surtain was traded to the Chiefs for a 2nd round pick and a swap of fifth rounders. Link I wonder if this will increase the asking price for the no. 2 pick as he will not be as desperate to trade it now.

Time to make VX's day, as I know he has much Eagles love. I could see him as an Eagle. He fits their scheme of wanting receivers out of the backfield. It plays well with his weaknesses as they rarely run the traditional I formation or anything where you need a dominant blocker at FB. Plus with Thomas Tapeh's career in the air they might look towards bringing in a FB, since Josh Parry sucked and all. I went to high school with a guy name Lewis Moore who went to Pitt and played LB. It was close on whether he would be drafted, but he wasn't. I think he signed on as a unsigned free agent with the Giants before being released after a couple of weeks, max.

I don't think anyone is really getting any hype. If anything, people are down on them big time (hence the "If JP Losman was in this draft he could go no.1 talk).
-
Sheldon Brown/Lito Sheppard has to rank up there. And I just saw on the ESPN bottom line scroll that the Jets are trading their 1st round pick to the Raiders for Doug FUCKING Jolley. EDIT: Ok, it appears that they are also giving up their first 2nd round pick. That makes much more sense. Link

If they don't trade for Henry, I would think the Eagles will take a day one RB (probably with the second 2nd rounder or first 3rd rounder). I am not worried about Westbrook, he will sign his tender and if he performs he will get taken care of. The WR position won't be a problem. TO will bitch and moan and bitch and moan then show up for the season and put up his numbers. There is nothing else he can do. Mitchell is gone, if they don't get a pick for him this weekend they'll cut him. They'll probably draft a WR coughMattJonescough. Greg Lewis is going to be the 3 this season so that is an upgrade and Pinkston will serve his purpose by catching one deep ball or drawing a PI call a game.

It just gets better and better. Not only do the Skins overpay for a pick, they also tip their hand days before the draft letting teams who want Jason Campbell know that they need to move up to get him now. Link
