What are some matches where even though a guy lost he became more over than he had been previously? So often we see matches that are supposed to do this...take Taker vs. Heidenreich as Survivor Series, for instance. Is Heidenreich more over now? Very arguable. But there are some clear cases. I'll take the easy one and say Steve Austin, after losing to Bret Hart at WM13. You could also make the case for Austin and Survivor Series 1996. What are some other examples?

Luther is now nicknamed the "Demon of the Desert"?
-
This giant roach skit is the dumbest thing ever.
-
Why do you guys think they switched the tag titles on SD?
-
It changes hands all the time in triple threat matches, but add that fourth guy in there and nope.
-
Superkick! Ha! Anderson got in plenty of offense, decent match.
-
ANDERSON SPINEBUSTER~!
-
Mention of ECW and Zero One? Talking about Anderson's history? Wow.
-
CW will win...BECAUSE HE'S AN ANDERSON!
-
It's Colin Farrell? Blaargh.
-
Funny that Josh mentioned how Puder has won almost every challenge and that Miz needs to knock him out tomorrow night.
-
INTERNATIONAL Heat. Armageddon is tomorrow, so Heat gets the Dark Match of the PPV and thats all. Dammit! You're right. Oh well.
-
Is SNL new tonight? If so, who's the host? I kind of want to see how C-Dub does against Spike. I think he's on Heat tomorrow night too.

Spike vs. CW Anderson!

London/Kidman was kind of "eh". Okay, but nothing that great. Kidman's matches have been pretty bland lately, though the crowd always pops when he goes for the SSP. I'm sure Holly vs. Luther will be five stars, though...

Kanyon with the cutter to the guy in the empty arena before Thunder was pretty awesome. Kanyon and heel Mike Tenay were by far the best things about WCW in 2000. Oh, and this was posted in another thread but not in this one: http://www.chriskanyon.com/video/043_positivelykanyon.avi

Here's Meltzer's Armageddon preview: --Armageddon preview: *JBL vs. Undertaker vs. Booker T vs. Eddie Guerrero - Since the long-term plans for the company require a heel champion for nearly next year, you've either got a title change, which will flip right back at Royal Rumble, or JBL retaining, and more likely the latter. The match should be good, but that is hardly a guarantee. They'll need the blood and the gimmicks in this one because the undercard is so weak on paper they'll need a home run out of this match. And with the four guys, that is hardly guaranteed. *John Cena vs. Jesus in a street fight. I've actually seen Prototype vs. Hardkore Kidd before. And Hardkore Kidd is no better today than he was then. This better be kept short, and I can't see Cena losing. *RVD & Rey Mysterio vs. Kenzo Suzuki & Rene Dupree. They'll probably get a **1/2 to *** match like they always have on TV and at the house shows. That may be enough for match of the show. The title change on Smackdown this week before the PPV makes no sense, because it lessens the anticipation for this match, not that there was much of any to begin with. *Daniel Puder vs. Mike Mizanin in a 3 one minute round boxing match. The psychology here is very interesting. I know that someone in the company has told Mizanin that all he needs to do is somehow last the first round and they think it will win him the contest as a psychological and sympathetic victory. I don't know, because he's going to have to come across sympathetic and we'll see what kind of an actor and an athlete he is. Puder is by no means a great boxer, but he has boxed amateur. Boxing is the weakest part of his game, but it also is part of his game. I've got no doubt he's winning this, but this is boxing within the realm of pro wrestling, which means it's not if you win, but how you look winning--and losing. For better or worse, I've heard and read 100 times more about this match than anything else on the show. *Big Show vs. Kurt Angle & Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak. At the house shows, it ends with Show choke slamming Jindrak and Reigns at the same time for the pin. Given the direction for Show, that probably will happen here as well, and then maybe a 3-on-1 on Show post-match. If Angle was healthy, the match could be okay. Since he's not, the odds of a good match have decreased *Jackie vs. Dawn Marie with Charlie Haas as ref. Natural inclination is Haas turns on Jackie, then life imitates art and they get a real life divorce. I guess that comes from following wrestling couples for 20 years. The match has sucked at the house shows, and with higher expectations and more pressure, that'll probably be accentuated here *Spike Dudley vs. Funaki for the cruiserweight title. I know there is a movement in some quarters to get the title off Spike, but this is not the guy to do it with. Really, Funaki getting the shot itself hurts what is already a dead division. They should have a technically okay match that the crowd probably won't care about much.

Great stuff guys...here are a few more: -Savage vs. Warrior, Summerslam 92. I know the stuff with Flair going in, where they teased he was on one guy's team. How exactly did they do that? How did the angle start? How was it that Warrior got the title shot? -Hogan/Taker, Survivor Series 91. How was this set up? Was it a huge shock to people at the time when Taker actually won? -Jake Roberts vs. Ted Dibiase, Wrestlemania 6 -Bad News Brown vs. Roddy Piper, Wrestlemania 6 -Hogan vs. Earthquake, Summerslam 90 -Perfect vs. Bret, Summerslam 91

Looks decent. Rock as the gay bodyguard is gonna be funny.
-
Positively Kanyon and heel Mike Tenay are by far the best things about Russo's second run in WCW.
-
Was there an actual moment where Andre turned on Hogan, or did it happen slowly? How did the setup for that main event go down?
-
A few more questions: -Why did Rude go over Warrior at Wrestlemania 5? Did they not see Warrior as a big star of the future quite yet? -When did Jake Roberts debut in the WWF? How? Wasn't he a heel right off the bat? When/how did he turn babyface? -When Savage jobbed the IC title to Steamboat at Wrestlemania 3, were they already planning a big babyface push for him? How did Savage turn babyface and form the Megapowers with Hogan? -I've heard that when Savage won the title at WM4 it was already planned that Hogan/Savage would main event WM5, is that true? How did Savage draw as champ? -Is it true Mr. Perfect was originally booked to win the 1990 Royal Rumble? Was he about to get a major push and Hogan denied it or something? -How come Wrestlemania 2 is never talked about? Doing a big show in three major cities like that has to be quite a success, right? Is it just because of the lackluster card and the fact WM3 was so epic? -Was there ever a plan to do a Hogan/Warrior rematch at Wrestlemania 7? -What was the storyline reason for Hogan not wanting to wrestle Flair at Wrestlemania 8, but instead in a non title match against Sid? Wouldn't he want to go after the title? And wouldn't have made more sense to do Hogan/Flair, Savage/Jake, and Sid/Taker?
-
What was the feud/storyline/angle going into these matches? -Hogan/T vs. Piper/Orndorff, Wrestlemania 1- -Hogan vs. Bundy, Wrestlemania 2 -Funks vs. Santana/JYD, Wrestlemania 2 -Hogan vs. Andre, Wrestlemania 3 -Hart Foundation and Danny Davis vs. British Bulldogs and Tito Santana, Wrestlemania 3 -Ricky Steamboat vs. Rick Rude, Royal Rumble 88 (is this match any good?) -Jake Roberts vs. Hercules, Summerslam 88 -Jake Roberts vs. Andre, Wrestlemania 5 -Rick Rude vs. Ultimate Warrior, Wrestlemania 5
