Isiah's doing alright so far in preseason; and he's probably right about Anthony not even watching Balkman play a single game. If I remember correctly, Anthony used the same comparisons for every player drafted that nbadraft.net uses. EDIT: I remember Ripper mentioning something about Phoenix about to take Balkman (they were the next pick). They traded the pick after Balkman was selected.

Even with their pitching, the Mets could have won Game 2, Game 3, and Game 5. The pitching hasn't been horribly bad. The offense, thats really good, needs to step it up. Both teams have mediocre starters, but the Cardinal lineup is taking more advantage of it.

It seems like you're not giving the Cardinals any credit. My point is, the Cardinal pitching staff isn't that good, and the Met pitching staff isn't THAT bad. The Mets have sucked ass with their inconsistent offense while the Cards have put up runs when it counts. It's not like they've killed the pitching either. Other than Game 2 and 3 (3 not so much because the Met offense again didn't do it's job), they've won close games.

The..Cards..don't..have..a..bunch..of..fucking..cy..young..winners. You make it sound like they have the best pitching staff ever. They were in the middle of the pact in terms of pitching, slightly worse than the Mets, even with their injuries, since the Met bullpen is very good.

The 2004 ALCS was a historic collapse, comeback, not upset. And the Mets losing to the Cards would be historic in that the Cards don't even have 85 wins, don't have anyone outside of Pujols, whereas the Mets have fucking Beltran, Delgado, Wright, Reyes, or are they nothing now? Weaver, Suppan, and Reyes aren't exactly twenty times better than Trachsel, Maine, and Perez/Oliver.

The Met lineup is so much better than anyone in the NL's, that the situation is different. You put the Yankees in the AL, and take away Wang and RJ, and you can still win with Mussina, Lidle, Wright, and maybe Karsens/Rasner. We're not talking about an AL team here in the Cards.

Pedro was injured nearly the whole year anyway. It's not like he was a 32 start game during the season.

It's now 6-8 weeks. He looked good the first few minutes of the opening preseason game, but this will give the Knicks a better look at Balkman, who has also looked good in preseason.
