This saving shit for the next round isn't the way to go. Torre did that with Wang, instead of using him in Game 4, and that ended up being the last game of the season. You have to get there first. Plus, I think he'd be in line for Game 3 of the World Series anyway.

The thing that would work in his favor is Carpenter being better at home than away. But another thing, if Carpenter starts tomorrow, he'll probably be available for Game 7 (if necessary). Yeah, it would be on two days, but he'd be able to throw a few innings, well more likely to throw a few innings than if he were to start Game 6.
