If New York makes a trade for KG, they'd take back Wally, and save the T'Wolves 102 Million in future salaries. They'd probably give up Ariza or Nate Robinson, and whatever future picks they have left too, or if they'd want Q-Rich or something too. Basically, there's no point in trading KG, unless you're going to save a lot of money, because KG is already arguably the best player in the NBA, and replacing him with another star will keep the Wolves in the same situation, with a player with less ability than KG, and still over the cap. If they make a KG/Wally for AD/Penny/Ariza trade, or something like that, they'll be 26 million under the cap at the end of this season.
