  1. PS2 was supposed to be an all purpose media center set-top box too. They were hyping up how they invisioned downloading games and everyone being connected. I am guessing after like a month they'll drop this crap for PS3 and it'll be just another game system.

  4. How could I lose??? I didn't even know that was going on. I'm so obsessed with T5DR right now. I bought Black at release and haven't even opened it yet. I have like no desire to play anything on console now. and now SC 3 arcade should be out soon. I cannot wait to unleash Cassie's stomp! DR and SC3 together. I'll never leave the arcade. Lili and Cassie...what a team.
  5. Most of her items are expensive. You could get googles for face but I think they look retarded. Looks totally out of place to have big goofy looking googles on. You could get black or pink hair, which is just her regular hair but that color. Brown choker is 30K. Goth makeup is 80, it makes her really pale. Only other thing is Aura and Dizzy which everyone has. If you don't want to save I'd go with pink or black hair, depending on your colors. Good thing about that is you can use it for both costumes. Right now I've got black hair and all black costume for 1P and for 2P I've got black dress, blue ribbon, parasol, blue glasses and a black and blue lace headband. I'm really happy with how she looks. All I need is 500K for the shoes and socks item and my 2P will be fully customized. Yeah d+3+4 is awesome. Crush system is so crazy in T5. Try messing around with u/f+3+4, 3+4. The second hit is d+3+4 so if they try to jab out of the first or duck they're launched. So they'll be so afraid you could do stuff like u/f+3+4 then throw or whatever. 1+2 or f+3+4 for wall. And Julia's 1+2, 4, b,f+1+2 seems a LOT more realiable now. I hit it every time today. I was horrible at it in 5.0, so bad I just did 4,4. As for lows....no not really. They're mostly all easy to see coming 20+ frame special move lows. I think that's the one big thing she is missing. The first hit of the d+1,2,4 string is ok I guess. That and generic lows are pretty much all you've got for low pokes. I think d/b+3 is better than d/b+4, it's faster, safer and knocks down. There's also f,f+4 which stuns. FC, d/f+3 has good reach. b+4~3 is one I keep forgetting to use more. The b+4 is supposed to evade, but I'm not sure how realiable it is. You could mix it up with the mid.
  6. Abuse it while you can! It can be interupted by jabs and apparently hop kick beats the mix ups. So in the long run it won't be something you can just throw out. Still, it's 50% damage juggles and good for wakeup. Aura is lame. Everyone has it. It's like Jinpachi's purple aura from 5 except it looks really crappy. You don't even get to pick the color. You have to buy that random aura change until you get the color you want. And the award for the most random move tweak in DR goes to Julia's f,f+1+2 which is no longer + on block. I guesss even though it's high and slow it was just too broken.
  7. After d+3+4 I do cd1, 1,2,d+2,2,3 3+4 head stomp is fun...I haven't been able to find a real use for it but it's still cool looking. So is her punch counter. I haven't touched Julia since the first day. Lili is too fun. Is wall 1+2, 4, b,f+1+2 more realiable? I want f+3~1, b+1+2 back.... I'm meeting up with some friends for console T5 tonight and it's going to be so bland. No Lili
  8. I was fighting Jinpachi today with her and actually crushed his fireball. Now that was fun.
  9. Yeah Namco's changes and new move additions can be really random and odd sometimes. Last night I played a bunch of Lili/Raven matches with a friend and spent most of it listening to his rants about how Lili is broke, she crushes everything, Namco is out to get Ravens, Raven is the most unsafe, high risk character ever and so on. Good fun. The remixed stages are great. I like the ones that used to be in the day and now at night, like the roof and waterfall. The remixed music is also very good. I absolutely love the new Cathedral both in design and music. Old stages are time released. I think it takes a week or two. Kind of an odd, anticlimatic thing to have for the time release. That's why the selection screen has that "New Stage Select" option. Eventually you'll be able to hit down twice to get old stage select. I really can't say enough good things about Lili. I bought a card for her on day 1 before even playing her just because of her design and what I had seen from vids. I just assumed I'd like her. Every day I play I like her more and more. I'm guessing she'll end up being my most played. I love her design and costume, her moves look good, she's fun. I recomend checking out Syxx's FAQ on Gamefaqs. Yeah it's Gamefaqs but this is actually good, he has been playing since beta. d/f+1 is a Feng style quick mid. Great for pressure and setting up a throw or whatever. d/f1+2 is her 1+2 escape throw. u/f+3 is a fast low crush launcher that is only jab punishable. I use it as her main whiff punisher. Apparently d/f+2 is safer but I don't like the range. d3+4 and CD1 are high crush launchers. They crush like crazy, like Asuka's WS+3. CD2 is safer but doesn't launch, it stuns on CH. d/f3+4,3+4 is interesting. The first hit launches for 50% damage. On block she recovers quickly with her back turned. From BT she has low and mid special moves or you could go for throw. If you use the full thing on wakeup and it hits you get BT 3 for free for great damage. Another great oki move is f+3+4, 3, 4. Not that good on a standing opponent. I've even been thrown out of the second hit but if you catch them rolling you get the full thing for good damage. Her staple juggle from almost any launcher is d/f+1, 1,2, d+2,3,3. Easy and like 40% damage. Off a stun like f,f+2 or CD2 CH you can get d+1,2, d+1,2,4. Off the first hit of d/f3+4 you get d+1, ws+2, d+1,2, 4. So far I've customized her to have a black dress with blue bow. I bought a parasol that hangs on her arm. It's also blue. I am not sure if I just got lucky and it matches my colors or if it changes depending on your color selection. It looks pretty cool since it's not just magically floating on her back. Planning on eventually getting black stockings when I save up 300,000. I had some money saved up from 5.1 and bought a spear for 1P Julia. It's on her back. Looks ok I guess. It's better than that goofy squirrel. Also bought a pair of binaculars for her 2P costume. They're not that good. They're huge and hanging across her chest. Look kind of weird and out of place. Should have went with the boomerang.
  10. It's not slower...it just feels different. Like more strict. You really have to mash that 111 out quickly to get it started or she just does a jab. Sort of like how it used to be in the older Tekkens. I don't know, maybe it's just me... The new animation is faster. I don't think it'll matter in the long run though, people were already getting used to it. I've been noticing damage is lower. Like Julia's ch 121, f3~1... juggles weren't doing as much damage. I also noticed Paul's CH deathfist doing quite a bit less. I am not sure yet if the damage is lowered overall with DR, if our cabinet is set lower or if it's just a few specific moves. I know overall wall damage is down. Not sure about King. I play a lot of Kings but they're all scrubby 10 hit, multi throw Kings. Armor King looks extremely cool though, at least animation wise. He's mostly entirely reanimated and has a bunch of new smooth, nicely animated kicks and punches. Fights and moves more like an actual luchadore now. It's going to be stupid if this doesn't come out for console.
  11. Yeah, I had been reading about the Japanese version but kind of figured it wasn't coming here. Great news. We got DR in Tuesday. You played yet? Lili seems so good! Big damage juggles and oki. I'm really not impresssed with Julia's new stuff. 111/1143 is indeed reanimated. It also feels different, like it's more stiff or something. CH 121 is also reanimated but the juggles still work. d/b+1 is a new mid. It's slow and seems pointless. f+212 is the new string. Also seems pointless. 4~2,1 is the new low. It's a fast low that kind of looks like her d+3 then leads into a mountain crusher like punch. Hard to say how good it is, it's catching people off guard because it's new. You can also hit 1 ater her double hopkicks and she does the new d/b+1. Surprisingly I am most impressed with Kuma's new moves.
  12. I know it was good for it's time but the character development in FF VI is pretty weak. Each character gets one or two moments then they just spend the rest of the time sitting on the airship.
  13. Recently the last song that I really liked was the music from the CG intro in Curse of Darkness where the main character fights Issac. It was the best part of the whole game. The intro song in Chrono Cross is the best part of that whole series. Unlike Curse of Darkness that isn't bashing the game either, the song is just that good. The intro to FF VIII is another favorite. Gets me pumped up to play it every time. As far as iconic goes I have to mention the sewer music in Mario. Within the group of friends/arcade regulars I play with that song is like a popular catchphrase. Everyone knows it! It's classic.
  14. It's funny how you can hold the buttons down to make everything in the background go faster. So like on Fei Long's stage the flamingos are FLIPPING OUT flapping back and forth like crazy. Or that guy in Zangief's stage taking like 20 drinks a second.

  16. Best versions of the music I've heard is from Super Turbo for PC. I don't think it's on any other version. It's completely redone, very high quality. I like the opening, Ryu, Cammy and Vega themes. But my favorite SF music is 3rd Strike. It's really grown on me. Especially the second mixes, after the first round when the music picks up. Ken/Alex, Ryu, Remy, Dudley, Yun/Yang, Q and Hugo's songs are all great. Namco does the best fighting game music. Soulcalibur series has such an epic, atmospheric soundtrack. Tekken 5's is also great. Love the Cathedral and Moonlit Wilderness music. From what I've heard Dark Resurrection sounds REALLY good. The Cathedral remix is extremely cool.

  19. Yeah it's very weak. I don't understand why anyone cares much about portable fighters. So what if they're a great port if you're playing in one player with a tiny screen and crappy controls? Who actually links them up for two player? I'll get it but I'm going to be very disappointed if it never comes out for PS2/3. Good news is DR arcade US version ships tomorrow.

  21. I don't actually like War Gods though. It's like how you like bad movies. FF X-2 is good! It's not as good as the regular FF games but it's still good.
  22. It's not really TERRIBLE. I don't regret going to see it. It's just not that great. It'd be hard to make a terrible zombie movie. Like what? I can think of MK Mythologies and maybe the other MK games but that's it and I quit gushing over them. I gush over most things I like though. I'm easily excitable!
  23. Shaun is funny and it has a Tekken reference! Andrew, since when did you like Land? Every time I complain about it you seem to agree. It's weak. There's nothing interesting or exciting, it's not scary or funny. The pacing is horrible. They spend so much time on that Dead Reckoning truck by the time they are done with that and back in the city it just kinda ends randomly. The "symbolism" is so lame. It's so blatant and it's not at all deep or thought provoking. It was fun to watch once because...it's a zombie movie. I would never watch it again though.

  25. I read it's even worse. I think I saw someone say they were being punished by Anna's d/f+2 so that's pretty awful. I also read b+2 is worse, they can just hold back to turn around before you can do anything. So 111, u/f4, all the old mixups are useless. That is such a nonsensical change.
