It looks like Ok. St is crushing Texas 28-7. I never get the hard on the polls have for Texas. It's like the other day, I was watching a game, and the announcers were complaining about how Utah hasn't beaten anybody, thus they shouldn't be considered for a BCS Bowl. They proceed to pump up Texas, despite the fact that other than a win over Texas Tech, I can't find any win that even looks remotely impressive on the schedule. Wins over a fading Missouri? A struggling Arkansas team? A bunch of random jobbers and Baylor? Wow! Somebody get them a BCS bid, pronto!

It looks like Fresno St. is absolutely crushing Rice(52-7) going into the fourth, so I am guessing this will likely mean I will defeat Florida St. and move to an underwhelming 4-6! *throws confetti* I was wondering what you were thinking with that one. Fresno St. was a popular mid major after they crushed Kansas St, while, from what I could tell, Rice sucks this season. Not that I'm complaining though.

Cincinnati confuses me. A few weeks back, they took a fairly embarrassing loss to Army(48-29), yet since then they have mauled a pretty good Memphis team(49-10), gained a comfortable win over TCU(21-10), and are rolling over Southern Miss(31-10). I guess they took the Army loss to heart and out to prove themselves. It looks like they are doing a pretty good job of that these past three weeks.

Is Cade injured of something? I haven't really seen him around after his push with the Coach failed. If he isn't, I'd assume he'd be the next on the firing line.

At this rate, who's going to be left to job on Mondays and Thursdays? EDIT: Nevermind. Looks like bullshit.

Well, on this other board that I check out, someone mentioned that the releases are because "The WWE is preparing for the likelihood that they will have to renew their RAW contract with Spike TV for a lot less than the $28M annually that they are currently getting." Don't know if there is some truth to it or not, but it certainly seems plausible.

Well, Funaki has been with the WWE since like 1997 or 98? If I remember correctly, the WWE likes guy who have "tenure." Maybe that's working for him.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Molly Holly gets released some time soon. I found it quite odd that she wasn't on Raw, and even odder that they fired Gail, who was. If they were getting rid of Gail anyway, why not just stick Molly in her place on Raw?

I am happy enough with my team. From the looks of it, they should do just fine, though I have already replaced my two bench players with Udonis Haslem and Bonzi Wells. I just hope this league will be more competitve than my Sportsline league. So far, half the teams never got active(and have "illegal" lineups, meaning they get 0 points) and most of the ones that are don't look too competitive. Ah well, 3 team leagues can be fun...I guess.

WWE Release Gail Kim, Nidia, and Chuck Palumbo
Der Kommissar replied to spman's topic in The WWE Folder
More for the Gail/Trish/Molly team, actually, but Trish/Lita looks to be the big feud and that doesn't even remotely excite me. I still like Shelton and Tajiri, but Tajiri is bounced between nothing jobber and main event jobber so much that it is fairly hard to follow, and Shelton seems to be doing something important one week, then on Heat duty the next. Such inconsistency means I really don't have much reason to watch anymore. -
WWE Release Gail Kim, Nidia, and Chuck Palumbo
Der Kommissar replied to spman's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, that sucks. I liked Gail and Palumbo, and, really, if they were going to fire anyway, why stick her on Raw? Ah well. At least I will have some extra free time between 9 and 11 on Mondays now. -
I think it's the last name "Bean." There is just something evil about a name like that. Speaking of which, a guy with the first name "Tupac" got elected to some position around here. I wonder how many people voted for him, simply because they saw the name "Tupac" and decided to vote for him on the basis that his name is the same as a dead rapper. I certainly hope so. All those commercials and "Please vote!" campaigns turned me away from wanting to vote as opposed to their original intention of making me want to go vote. Though, I'll probably be living in a different country by then, I certainly hope they go the way of the dodo in 2008, but I doubt it.

This is somewhat big news: Leftwich out at least 4 weeks with a knee injury BAD break for the Jags. It could be anywhere frome 4 weeks to the rest of the season. Can Garrard pull it off or are the Jags' playoff hopes sunk? I am betting on the latter at this point.

That was hilariously bad. It scares me to think that not only are there many of those out there, but I have seen plenty of him. It actually reminds me of my friend Schmitty's work. Some of his better gems: Sadly, in the 6 years I was in an E-Fed with him, he never improved at writing matches or roleplay. I just don't get it.

I am somewhat excited about this match, since I do remember these two having somewhat good chemistry in the ring a few years back. Of course, I wonder, "Why the heck are they mentioning a seemingly meaningless match involving The Hurricane in the Raw preview?" That just seems totally out of place.

OaO Fantasy Football Advice Thread
Der Kommissar replied to TheOriginalOrangeGoblin's topic in Sports
Yeah. Same thing happened to me in the keeper league with Reuben Droughns. I believe I dropped him for Justin Fargas, then I find out the day after that Droughns was going to get the start. He ended up getting like 195 yards on the ground or something, as Fargas didn't even play, and my team lost by some small amount. Ah well. At least he's gone back to playing average again...right after I picked him up in my other league. C'est la vie. -
OaO Fantasy Football Advice Thread

I should send Brees a thank you card. He singlehandedly saved my TSM fantasy team this week. Just as I was about to change their names to The Pylons too... -
Haven't the Yankees been to the playoffs each of the past 4 years, going to the World Series twice, and coming within one game of going to the Series this year? They should be happy. Heck, no other team has been to the World Series more than once over that same period of time.

Hey Evo, I am curious. From the looks of it, New Orleans has a fairly comfortable lead in their division, so I was wondering what exactly caused them to turn the corner so quickly? They seemed to always be somewhere between below average and quite bad, so why are they suddenly a possible playoff team? Good moves in the offseason? Prospects finally playing up to their potential? Just wondering.
-
I do. It seems to have mixed it up a bit anyway. It seems like scores were getting higher lately as it was. From the looks of it, most games have a ton of disagreement, so they will either be complete blowouts, or relatively low scoring affairs. I just think it adds a bit more of a challenge to it, and makes it more interesting, in my opinion. I am also glad I disagree with Vern in only three games. At least I know what to focus on this week.
-
Alright! I never expected Andre to be this good this quickly. Thus far, he has helped New Orleans stay in the playoff hunt, had his first All-Star selection and the MVP. Hopefully, he gets the Crunk Machine to the playoffs and, maybe, takes rookie of the year. I hope he keeps it up.
