  1. That Braden Walker dvd's pretty rare I hear.
  2. Yeah, Vince used to ride with Jerry Graham back in the '60s.
  3. I'm blatantly stealing this joke from BTF. Better get the freezer ready.
  4. If you don't want things spoiled, avoid the topic. There are too many time zones and programming schedules to set a proper time. Between NBC having taped programming, putting that same programming even later on the West Coast, Canada, Great Britain, etc. What's proper? Only fair way is as they happen.
  5. They're doing the same for Summerslam when it comes out.
  6. On the flip side, let's say they are 25 apart. If they primarily wrestled tag matches, what did they do to separate themselves? And the list is a Kayfabed list, NOT a workrate list.
  7. Note to Joe Magrane announcing the Olympics, there are other ways to score besides by bunting.
  8. Yankees 2 Giants 3 WP: Gomez, LP: Hunter, Sv: Murphy Gil McDougald's triple drove in the tying runs in the fifth, and Charlie Keller hit a home run in the eighth to plate the go-ahead run.
  9. To embed, just put your youtube video in a tag.
  10. Excellent. Check out Bull's BBQ, where Greg Luzinski is usually in attendance. The park itself is incredible.
  11. Final Standings of pool play. Giants 6-4 Dodgers 6-4 Highlanders 6-4 Yankees 6-4 Bridegrooms 4-6 Gothams 2-8 With four teams tied, a tiebreaker is actually easy to set up. Teams seeded one and four will compete, along with teams seeded two and three. The winners will play for the top spot, the loser of that getting the second spot. The losers of the first game will play for third place and the final playoff entry. The Giants pick up the first seed thanks to their 4-2 record against the other three teams. The Dodgers will get home field against the Highlanders due to better run differential. Hera are the tiebreak matchups. Yankees (Hunter) @ Giants (Gomez) Highlanders (Ruffing) @ Dodgers (Pettitte) Giants 3, Yankees 2 Dodgers 6, Highlanders 3 Dodgers 6, Giants 1 Yankees 5, Highlanders 2 First round is Giants vs. Yankees, winner battles the Dodgers. Both series will be contested best of five. Earle Combs hit .481/.526/.750, taking MVP honors. Jimmy Key will take best pitcher honors with two wins, 23 innings pitched and a 2.74 ERA. Yankees 3, Giants 4 Yankees 1, Giants 4 Giants 3, Yankees 4 Giants 8, Yankees 2 Giants win series 3 games to 1. Giants 2, Dodgers 15 Giants 1, Dodgers 10 Dodgers 9, Giants 10 (13 Innings) Dodgers 4, Giants 6 Giants 8, Dodgers 9 (10 Innings) Dodgers win series 3 games to 2.
  12. Yankees 7 Bridegrooms 5 WP: Peterson, LP: Chamberlain, Sv: Rivera Home runs by Joe Dimaggio and Dave Winfield led the way for the Yankees. Mariano Rivera pitched a six out save, retiring all six batters he faced. Giants 9 Dodgers 2 WP: Shocker, LP: Wang A close game until the eighth when the Giants scored six runs. All six were unearned thanks to costly errors by Lindy McDaniel and Babe Ruth. Highlanders 12 Gothams 2 WP: Davis, LP: Chesbro This game was actually tied in the eighth. The Highlanders plated a pair of runs and loaded the bases. Alfonso Soriano put the game away with a grand slam off reliever Bob Wickman.
  13. Online Olympic Baseball has text commentary, apparently by the online version of Marty Brennaman. Seriously, have you seen Hessman's numbers? He's the minor league version of Adam Dunn. That's his game. (Though Hessman can play well at third, while Dunn is a poor corner outfielder.)
  14. Keep an eye out for Rays highlights, apparently Upton pulled a hell of a baserunning gaffe.
  15. Watching the Dudleys drive around, I get a kick out of recognizing the parking lot of the Allentown Fairgrounds.
  16. That leaves us with three games left. Yankees (5-4) at Bridegrooms (4-5). Giants (5-4) at Dodgers (6-3). Highlanders (5-4) at Gothams (2-7). The Dodgers can clinch the top spot with a victory. The Bridegrooms can force their way into a playoff game with a win and either a Giants or Highlanders loss.
  17. Bridegrooms (Stottlemyre) @ Yankees (Downing) Dodgers (Shawkey) @ Giants (Mays) Gothams (Hoyt) @ Highlanders (Wells) Bridegrooms 3 Yankees 10 WP: Downing, LP: Stottlemyre Yankees dominated, scoring four in the first and pouring it on late in the game. Tommy Henrich drove in four runs in the win. Dodgers 4 Giants 10 WP: Mays, LP: Shawkey A bases clearing triple by Joe Gordon in the third put the Giants ahead for good. Gothams 2 Highlanders 5 WP: Wells, LP: Hoyt, Sv: Wetteland The Highlanders scored in five different innings and five different players drove in runs. David Wells pitched eight strong innings for the win.
  18. Usian Bolt. Jeeesus Christ. That a guy can jog to the finish line of a qualifier just isn't right. Heck, let me pose this question. Which athlete has been more impressive, Bolt or Michael Phelps? Has anyone topped them?
  19. Here's where we stand after eight games. Dodgers 6-2 Highlanders 4-4 Bridegrooms 4-4 Yankees 4-4 Giants 4-4 Gothams 2-6 The next three series are Gothams vs. Highlanders, Dodgers against Giants and Bridegrooms vs. Yankees. No team has clinched a playoff berth, or been mathematically eliminated. If the Gothams sweep, the Dodgers sweep and the Bridegrooms/Yankee series ends in a sweep, we would have a four way tie for third place and a playoff berth. With 64 hypothetical game outcomes yet, I'll wait a game before laying out potential tiebreakers.
  20. Highlanders 4 Bridegrooms 5 11 Innings WP: Gordon, LP: Wetteland The Highlanders tied the game with two in the top of the ninth. Tino Martinez hit the game winning home run. Gothams 4 Dodgers 5 WP: Gossage, LP: Righetti Back and forth game, the Gothams scored two in the top of the eighth to take the lead, the Dodgers tied it in the bottom of the inning. Nick Etten drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. Yankees 1 Giants 3 WP: Pennock, LP: Turley, Sv: Duren Giants scored the go-ahead run in the 7th on Roy White's RBI double, and a Wade Boggs error led to an insurance run.
  21. Babe Ruth, 1925.
  22. Most of them I can actually. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I can name any two World Series participants off the top of my head, so I can't judge.
  23. Can anyone honestly say off the top of their heads who "won" any of the Olympic Games? Well besides the '84 Summer games, but that's an inspired guess.
  24. Bridegrooms 4 Highlanders 6 WP: Lopat, LP: Clemens, Sv: Wetteland Two RBIs from Nettles capped a four run fourth that put the Highlanders in the lead for good. Dodgers 8 Gothams 2 WP: Key, LP: Hernandez Two RBIs apiece for Tony Lazzeri and Paul O'Neill. El Duque pitched a quality start but the bullpen allowed five more runs. Giants 8 Yankees 10 WP: Raschi, LP: Reynolds Three RBIs for Combs and Henrich. Earle Combs came a home run away from the cycle in this victory.
  25. They possibly could, but what's the point? Are we really so worked up over a few missed calls that we need to double-check every single call in the ballgame?
