Jeff Hardy will get another push as long as he's over. It's how the business works, a person's actions and even their personality don't mean as much as their drawing potential. What I find interesting is that you'd be hard pressed to find another example of an American sport organization suspending a star athlete for a similar time. Maybe Ricky Williams, but he essentially quite anyway. WWE's wellness policy gets a lot of skepticism and guffaws, but this thing has more teeth in it than anything MLB or the NBA presents.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

"I stroked your mom" has potential but I don't really have a good image. -
Agree. I really liked the match. The crowd was really into it as well. Not really excited for part X. It probably will be Perfect/Bossman and well Bossman never had good matches in my opinion. Boss Man had all kinds of good matches. His cage match with Hulk Hogan is excellent. He had good matches with Vader as well in '94. He worked reasonably well for a big man and was a great bumper.

We're not talking an overhaul here. No one is going to start cleaning house, overmodding threads, or any of that nonsense. It's just a few people kicking around ideas to improve quality in general.

Why isn't "WWE 24/7" associated with, um, y'know, the "WWE Folder" Two reasons: 1. The General Wrestling folder contains more quality posters, and was the original home of the 24/7 threads. 2. WWE 24/7 as a service generally contains MANY non-WWE items such as WCW, World Class, ECW, etc.

I would also note that using projections are better when you understand that you're looking at groups and general trends, not outright predictions.

Baseball Prospectus is sometimes behind subscriber walls. It's hit or miss to find anything. Baseballthinkfactory.org's Dan Symbowski has his ZipS projections available. They're not hyped up, but they are reasonably effective and free. There is a spreadsheet available for download.

Danny Haren doesn't scare me. He's effective, but he's not dominant.

Don't forget the ladder match with Jeff Hardy.

They move ahead every 2-3 weeks with new shows. You should be able to have the shows available on all your boxes. When I called my cable company to subscribe, they asked if I wanted programming on each cable box.

For discussion of World Class.

An ongoing thread for the NWA television show, featuring Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Nikita Koloff and the Midnight Express. I mentioned this in the General thread, but this week's show was particularly good due to the crowd. The wrestlers seemed to turn things up a notch as a result, with heels giving jobbers ten minute matches. These shows are particularly good, IMO. Every angle is laid out well and progressed most weeks. Wrestlers are showcased and presented well. I think they are about as good as jobber shows get.

A thread for ongoing discussion of WCW Monday Nitro. Could this be the greatest thread in the history of our forum?

A thread for ongoing discussion of Monday Night Raw on 24/7.

I remember DDP coming out and just having this look of sheer exhilaration on his face. You could tell it was the highlight of his career.

Better question! who the hell cares? Shut up Snitsky. Don't insult the good name of Snitsky like that. -
I actually watched this show a couple weeks ago before it aired on 24/7. A couple of thoughts. -Rock/Hogan is clearly the highlight match of the show. That and Arn Anderson's spinebuster though are clearly the only memorable moments of the night. -There is not a bad match on the card, quite honestly. But almost every match falls in the 2-3 star range. Absolutely nothing special to watch, either in performance or results. -The storylines coming in are absolutely atrocious. Hulk Hogan ran a truck into the Rock's limo. Vince McMahon had co-owner Ric Flair put on hiatus. Edge is feuding with Booker T over a shampoo commercial. Chris Jericho ran over Triple H's dog. What the fuck?

For those of you with 24/7 Online, talk about programming here.

Second-guessing the manager (or head coach, GM or what have you) is a part of sports culture. Every baseball city has a group of fans and a sports columnist/radio guy who wants the manager's head. Managers become the scapegoat for anything that goes wrong, be it a failure for a player to develop, a litany of pitcher injuries, etc. There are parts of the job such as strategy and assigning playing time that are fairly accessible to the average fan. What most fans don't realize is that there are other parts of the job they don't see. Working with the media, training players, setting up a routine, etc. They are not immune to criticism though, and quite a few get into deep water when they try and analyze past performance. When a Joe Morgan says something like pitcher wins are all that matters, it's frustrating.

Billy Crystal is going to play for the Yankees in Thursday's exhibition game.

Just for kicks, Volkoff is only 16 months older than Ric Flair.

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of the DVDVR setup. I think there are too many subfolders, pinned threads etc. and it becomes daunting to navigate.

It all comes down to this vote. Have at it kids.

If the ball hadn't gotten to Cervelli, what is he doing in front of the plate? By the rulebook a player is not to block the plate or a base without possession of the ball. Of course no one enforces it, and that's going to cause a controversy one of these days.
