8:00 p.m. CBS NFL Playoffs/60 Minutes: 19.2/28 -- 32.22 million -- 11.2/25 Fox 24 (season premiere): 8.1/12 -- 14.38 million -- 5.5/12 8:30 p.m. CBS 60 Minutes : 11.3/18 -- 17.80 million -- 5.1/11 Fox 24 (season premiere): 8.8/13 -- 15.87 million -- 6.0/13 9:00 p.m. ABC Desperate Housewives: 10.3/15 -- 18.18 million -- 6.5/14 CBS 60 Minutes/Cold Case: 10.8/16 -- 18.73 million -- 4.3/ 9 NBC Apprentice 6: 4.8/ 7 -- 7.22 million -- 2.8/ 6 Fox 24 (season premiere): 9.1/13 -- 16.28 million -- 6.3/14 9:30 p.m. ABC Desperate Housewives: 10.9/18 -- 17.25 million -- 7.0/15 CBS Cold Case: 8.9/13 -- 13.64 million -- 3.6/ 8 NBC The Apprentice: 4.8/ 7 -- 7.37 million -- 2.9/ 6 Fox 24 (season premiere): 9.1/13 -- 16.22 million -- 6.3/14 These ratings dont matter for crap though, nor will tonights because everyone will be interested in next week when 24 goes up against Heroes. I think its best that 24 got 4 hours worth in before next week. I personally stayed away from Heroes because even with a dual tuner tivo there was no way I could do 24/Heroes and watch RAW.

The movie about the killer croc bombed. Im gonna blame Steve Irwin dying.

Because they're used for stuff other than watching movies. The drives? Is there any other software or anything on either format? It wasnt a drive that could burn media.

Im sorry for not entertaining you. The PS3 thread got me to thinking about the CES Thing on G4 and I was really impressed with the $300 wireless HDMI setup they showed but they never disclosed the range of it. I did a search and found out its 10 meters which is a shade over 30 feet.

There was a CES Special on G4 last night (OMG I WATCHED G4) and Dell has a $5,000 GAMING computer with some sort of super liquid cooling technology that keeps the CPU 9 degrees celcius cooler than the normal model, and a really fancy case with lights and and all that other crap that no one in their right mind would really care about except gamers. Someone who buys that might be doing other things with it, but they didnt buy it with any other thing in mind besides PC gaming. Alienware has a sub $2000 laptop for gamers thats going to have a blu ray drive. I see no point in hd-dvd or blu ray drives in a laptop as small as the screens are. But my point is, all I ever heard initially was "600 dollars! Thats outrageous" and yet theres a subset of the same demographic of gamers who pay out the whazoo for a gaming PC.

HD-DVD might be cheaper, but it is better. The PQ is better, the sound is better, the special features are better and the discs themselves are stronger. I know this stuff because I own both formats and I have seen/heard it. Go out and check both formats. Having a BR and HDDVD player really helps my knowledge because it gives me a hands on experience. You talk about how your BR/HDDVD stuff, but you can only learn so much from reading. You can read all you want on how to fly a plane, but you won't know how to until you actually fly one. Same goes for HD/BR players. I do know plenty about HD, maybe not as much as you, but I know my fair share. And of course I didn't know anything about HD originally, WHO DOES??? Yes, I learned some from you. I learned some of the basics from you and others at this board.I learned the rest by doing research, just like you did. So now that I know a lot, I'll explain it to others. WHY DOES THIS BOTHER YOU SO MUCH? Is your life that lame when someone you helped teach about HD starts to know a lot, it bugs you? Good God man. We do have the same TV? What is your model #? What did I get wrong this week huh? We already went over the fact we both have the same tv because I gave you the service menu codes for your tv. I have the non-slimfit version of your Samsung 30 inch tv. The only difference is that yours is smaller in size but they are the same tv in every other respect. This is of course unless you got a new tv since last may.. As far as you getting hands on experience by owning both, thats great, but ultimately its silly to pay that much for hands on experience when you can go to a store and see both working for free.

I dont know why a $600 PS3 is considered expensive, but you have people spending $1,000+ (Up to $5000!) on gaming PCs.

The Seahawks coulda been the Buffalo Bills of the New Millenium! I would have actually liked to have seen the Seahawks/Colts though.

Is there one thing at all that would be appealing about a Patriots/Bears Super Bowl? Seriously?
-
I wont watch the games next week, mainly cause I'll be at work and Im not gonna go through the trouble of lugging a tv to work like I did yesterday to watch the AFC game I dont care about (cant watch FOX at Work), and I swear, if it ends up Patriots/Bears, I wont even watch the Super Bowl..I'll find something else to watch/do.

I personally could care less about the HD-DVD/Blu Ray thing myself. For the most out of either, Id still need a bigger 1080p capable tv which I dont have the money for right now, as well as the player itself. Im focusing more on HD Channels; Give me my TV in HD (and some movies too) and I'll upconvert DVD movies for the forseeable future. The format war is pointless because if left up to consumers, they'll go with the cheaper but inferior format everytime and its stupid. Blu Ray is more future proof than HD-DVD even though HD-DVD is easier to produce discs for and cheaper. The fact is, if the format war goes any longer and we'll see those awesome 100gb holographic discs out that would blow both formats to hell. And I dont see how Im giving uninformed opinions about anything. I did a ton of research 2 1/2 years ago before I purchased my TV and I still keep up to date on everything via AVS, Endgaget HD and DBS Talk. Mole bugs me because he originally had no clue about HD at all (do a little search on this site) and I was the one that explained a lot about HD to him, and now he acts like he knows everything, just because he's got a Blu Ray player and an HD DVD player, and the same exact TV as I have, which is downright funny in and of its own.

Aside from the Horrible Ravens offensive choke job.. The Patriots are going to beat the Colts..AGAIN. And uh..the Bears will win. Hope you all like that Horrible Super Bowl rematch 21 years in the making, and you might as well hand Tom Brady the MVP trophy and call him the best QB ever to play the game of professional football

That was quite possibly my favorite Jack Bauer kill ever.

I already like the fact that President Wayne Palmer is doing things out of DC. I wonder what President Wayne Palmer had to give to get Jack out of China..

Marino went to the SB in his 2nd year in the league. Peytons already been in the league 8 years the farthest hes gotten is the aFC Championship game where he threw 4 ints vs NE. Id say if he ever does make it to a SB, he'll probably choke then as well. Im hoping for Eagles/Ravens Super Bowl. It'll be hysteria around here if that happens. They can even bring up the Orioles/Phillies 1983 World Series, the failed T.O. trade to Baltimore (HA!)

Uh..whatever. I wasnt insisting anything.

Thos shows arent stretched. A lot of tv shows pre late 80's were shot on 35 mm film which has a wider picture that was then cut down for 4:3. Universal HD takes that wider than 4:3 shot, trims off the top and bottom a bit and it provides a 16:9 picture with more picture on the sides than the 4:3 version but less on the top and bottom. Not only that, but I even think they went back to the original film stock and converted them to HD video. No converting necessary. 35 MM film has way more than HD resolution. Do you REALLY want to keep correcting me even though all you're doing is saying the exact same thing but using different words? I suppose it would be down-converting.

I probably have it but Im too cheap to go to a psychiatrist and get tested. AS is characterized by: Narrow interests or preoccupation with a subject to the exclusion of other activities; Repetitive behaviors or rituals; Peculiarities in speech and language; Extensive logical/technical patterns of thought Socially and emotionally inappropriate behavior and interpersonal interaction; Problems with nonverbal communication And who knows..this could be my last night here..I cant see the Ravens giving up 31 points tomorrow but I said Id leave if they do and I'll keep my promise on that.

Os traded Rodrigo Lopez to the Rockies for two minor league pitchers. Interesting.

All I know is the most points the Ravens allowed all year was 26 to the Titans. They held San Diego to 13, New Orleans to 22 and Cincy to 33 points in 2 games, a couple of the better offenses/QBs in the league. I see no reason why they would allow 31 tomorrow, even to the Colts.
