  1. Speaking of which, have you heard that Malmsteen's new album is called Unleash the Fury
  2. Isn't this the same Ozzy Osbourne who pissed on the Alamo? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah but he was drunk, like really really really really really really really really really really really really REALLY drunk. So it's understandable.
  3. Off Bury Your Dead's website So take that as you may. And fuck Sharon Osbourne. PS: Anyone else think that this could make the rest of the tour pretty interesting? I mean, the news has spread pretty fast and almost all of the stuff I've read is pretty slanted against the Ozzfest organizers and Sharon. Think there could be mass Maiden chants (sort of in the vain of the "we want Flair" stuff) during some sets, maybe Velvet Revolver will get a hard time.
  4. Ok get this. 25% of RIAA sales in America are sold through Wal-Mart; a quarter of the music industry is controlled by one store. Moreover, cd sales account for well less than 1% of Wal-Mart's total sales. This means that Wal-Mart could have pretty complete control over the music industy (like they do with most of the other companies who sell through them). They could completely bail out of the music selling business at a very small cost to themselves while crippling the music industry.
  5. Well, it looks like those crazy christians have been bolstered by the fledgling acceptance of their intelligent design rhetoric, and are now trying to erode away at other scientific achievements. The fine folks at The Onion report: God I love The Onion. The funny (and sad) part is that I could actually potentially see that being a real article.
  6. Ah this is why I love Wal-Mart. "Can YOU sling boxes and work the cash register? Then come on down and become and 'expert' in electronics."
  7. I went for Watchmen. I just love that book so much, but I also really dig V for Vendetta, The Killing Joke and Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?
  8. Maybe Justice? I'm sure New Avengers, House of M, Superman/Batman, and Astonishing X-Men will be up there if they have issues in August. Ultimates Annual might be pretty high too.
  9. Thoughts: Well, I guess that teaches Disney that they're fucked without Pixar. I'm so stoked that Steve Carell is starring in a #1 movie. Wow, Supercross sure is a huge success. I actually thought it would have made more money considering all the advertising. Then again, it got 2% on rottentomatoes.com... Wedding Crashers has some legs man. So does CATCF.
  10. I really hope Cloutier can step it up this year. Goaltending seems to be the Canucks one major inconsitency that's blocking them from maybe going all the way. He's got potential, but the guy seems to be an off and on goalie. I'm in. Should there be a separate thread to keep track of this stuff?
  11. I'm thinking of checking out Astonishing X-Men when the inevitable trade come out because I've heard great things. So what's the deal with that title, Whedon ends with the next issue right? Any details on the trade?
  12. They've also got market share and analysis. Here's the top 4 for july: MARVEL COMICS: 37.95% dollar share, 43.45% Unit Share DC COMICS: 33.57% dollar share, 37.05% Unit Share DARK HORSE COMICS: 4.96% dollar share, 3.47% Unit Share IMAGE COMICS: 4.26% dollar share, 3.98% Unit Share
  13. Hey, can someone explain to me when and how (and who was responsible) for Krypto's return. I kinda stopped reading comics between DC One Million and Identity Crisis. As for Lex Luthor, I loved his character the most in 94 around the Fall of Metropolis storyline.
  14. Yeah, definately always been a DC fan but: The Ultimates.
  15. I'm currently following: Justice All-Star Batman JLA JSA OMAC Green Lantern
  16. Someone can't. So join the army!
  17. Sort of off topic, but I just read that Jim Lee and Grant Morrison are rebooting WildC.A.T.S in 2006. Sounds like it could be interesting. Thoughts?
  18. Hmm, doesn't look like Fantastic 4 is going to get near Batman Begins (199 million), so that's a good thing. I'm still depressed that Duece Bigilow made even 9.4 million. 40 Year Old Virgin is going to rock. Steve Carell can do no wrong.
  19. Geez, don't you people get it by now that there ARE no alternate earths, the multiverse was destoyed in Crisis 1. Now there's just alternate timelines....with the hypertime... and ...stuff. (yeah I don't get it either)
  20. So then how about enlightening as to why the big bang theory, the one theory that is backed up by all the physical and cosmological evidence, is a load of bull.
  21. The exact quote was "I think that's bullshit, and I hate that." Wonder why they'd not indicate that in the article?
  22. So I'm reading some WizardWorld reports over at Newsarama, and I'm reading something about a talk they had with Marvel's Joe Quesada about the Ultimate line, and I see this gem: Oh yeah, redo the Clone Saga. Can't fucking wait. Bad bad decision.
  23. I finally got around to picking it up. It was definately disapointing compared to by expectations when I first heard about the series, but I didn't hate it. I probably could have done without the Viki Vale stuff at the beginning, but it didn't bother me or anything. Same goes for the "new" death of Robin's parents; I didn't really like it, but it got the job done and it's not like these titles are continuity so I can live with different characterizations and plot points. I'll definately pick up the next issue because it's Frank Miller writing Batman, so I have faith.
  24. It wasn't Minnie Driver's voice. Supposedly there's only like a handful of people in the world who can sing that role, so they dubbed her. I thought the movie was alright. I was really suprised that Joel Schumacher turned out a pretty good directing job. The production design was awesome as well. Actually Gerard Butler's voice was pretty weak for a lot of parts, but he had his moments and he acted the part pretty damn well, so it's forgiven. There were a few changes to the play that were kind of iritating, but I just found myself bored by the end, which I guess is a fault of the source material itself. It's weird, because I saw the show in London and when it was touring in Canada and was blown away both times. I think Andrew Lloyd Webber stuff just can't be put to film, cause I felt the same way about Evita and Jesus Christ Superstar. Great material, but those were shitty movies (Phantom was much better). But yeah, the blond with the rack was smokin'
  25. Agreed. I'm loving the dynamic between those 3 that has been developing over the past years. That was one of the things I really liked about Kingdom Come. It took that dynamic to it's logical extreme. Fuck that; Batman's the man. He knows that he can never kill anybody because he has to try and hold up that difference between good and evil. He has to be better than the villians. Plus, he knows that he's so close to the edge already that killing somebody whether it be out of revenge/anger or some desire for justice that it would probably destroy him.
