I always do a February fantasy baseball draft for fun, and well, it's today and I haven't really prepared for it. Anyone got some hot sleeper picks for me? And related, what are y'alls projections for Beltre?
-
Oh yeah. I'd take Dan Dickau over Parker too!
-
Knicks fall by 6 in OT. Lakers knock off New Jersey by 1, despite a triple double from Kidd. Odom was two assists off the triple double 16-8-19

Danny Davis used to wrestle in grey sweatpants and sweatshirt. That was brutal.

Warrior. I went from being a Hogan fan when I was younger, to simply tolerating his inevitable presence as champion at that point. I pretty much turned on Hogan when the "Megapowers exploded" because I thought Randy Savage was cooler, and I was always rooting for someone to beat Hogan for the title after Mania V.

KNICKS AND HEAT IN OT! NETS AND LAKERS IN OT! *head explodes*

Ditto. I was shocked to hear Kenny Smith and others mention him as an all-star. He's one dimensional on offense, unreliable outside shot, and without the defense collapsed on Duncan he'd have a hard time driving as much as he does. I'd much rather have Mike Bibby on my team. I'd rather have Jason Williams for that matter.

2nd in AVERAGE pts, which doesn't mean shit when talking about him being out because his average hasn't changed since he went down. He's down to 20th in total points accumulated, which is obviously still impressive. BTW, who leads the league in total points scored? Amare Stoudemire. Iverson will likely win the scoring title, but due to the odd games he misses he won't win top volume scoring.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Farnsworth have a good year for Detroit. I think the Chicago spotlight and pressure probably got to be a bit much for him. There's no pressure in Detroit, since they haven't been good in forever. Fans there are grateful for a .500 team.

Anyone think the Tigers can compete in the central this year? There's a lot of question marks: can Magglio regain form? can Farnsworth? can Percival stay healthy? But they were a tough play last year, and on the surface they've only improved. Personally, I can't see them overtaking the Twins, and if Frank Thomas is healthy it's hard to put them ahead of the ChiSox, but you never know...

Supposedly Leinart is not happy about this and may be starting to regret staying at USC

because he leads the league in 3pt makes. If we're going by percentage, Allen shouldn't be in it either, because he's down to like 37% this year. Richardson won't win it anyway, he's a guy who hits his shots in the flow of the game, running up off breaks and shit, he's not really a pure, stand-still shooter. Joe Johnson won't win it either. My money's on Korver.

John Wooden: # UCLA record: 620-147 # Led Bruins to four 30-0 seasons (1963-64, 1966-67, 1971-72, 1972-73) # Led Bruins to 88 consecutive victories # Led Bruins to 38 straight NCAA tournament victories # Led Bruins to 149-2 record at Pauley Pavilion # Led Bruins to 19 PAC 10 championships # Led Bruins to 10 national championships, including seven in a row (1966-73) # During 40 years of coaching, compiled a 885-203 (.813) record

I loved Milloy as a player, and I was bummed when he left, but based on shit like this it was probably for the best. The highlight of his post-Patriots career is going to be that blowout season opener win the Bills had, which ammounted to jack and shit. If he can live with that then more power to him.
-
Wrong conference too. He'd be a perennial all-star if the Bulls had held on to him. Antawn Jamison, I like the guy, but 20-8 with no defense just doesn't scream All-Star to me. I'd take Brand over him any day of the week, Gasol too.

I don't think I've seen anyone coming up in the indys who's as consistently as intense as Benoit was/is. Lots of good technicians, lots of good hybrid workers, but nobody who really has it amped up like he does. I enjoy some of Walters work, though he's a bit bland for my tastes.

That's why I like that NAO v. Mankind handicapped match, I think from SummerSlam 98, where Mankind and Kane were tag champs, but also feuding, and Mankind was in the middle of a face turn. Like, you pretty much expected Mankind to pull off the huge babyface upset, but instead the NAO just murdered him
-
I did too, but if he wasn't working with Hogan or Savage his matches were crap. The two Savage matches are the only ones I really care for anymore.

If you could up it that would be awesome JoeDirt, if you could re-up that Sting/Luger-Steiners match I'd appreciate that too

Who cares about state lines? That's so antiquated. Geographic proximity means more to me, and until they're UN-NAMED the "New England Patriots" they represent the ENTIRE REGION. No, it's actually not like that at all, since I'm not from Boston, and I'm not from the Bronx either. If I LIVED in Boston, or had EVER lived in Boston I'd most likely be a Red Sox fan. As it is three generations of my family on one side are from NY, a couple more than that on the other side are from various places around New England. I've lived in far west mass (just as close to NYC as Boston), upstate/western NY, NYC, Rhode Island and New Hampshire, NONE of which are the same as living in South Boston. And I can continue to tell you to fuck off, you pretentious, smartass cunt. I've got just as much claim to the Patriots as you do, and I've been a fan since the day I started watching football. My first experience with football WAS a Patriots game in Foxboro. You mad that I'm a Yankees fan? Mad that I'm a Knicks fan? Gonna cry about it?

I think that means their last team has the right of first negotiation without competition, or can choose to pass them along into the FA pool. David Givens is a free agent too, there may be a market for him out there considering the top FA WRs are Plaxico Burress, Jerry Porter and Tim Houshmanwhateverthefuck. Yuck.

3 Pt Shootout: Voshon Lenard Kyle Korver Joe Johnson Quentin Richardson Vladimir Radmanovich Ray Allen weird that they have two guys from the same team, twice. Damon Jones of Miami should be in it, and I know he wanted to be, Shaq put money on him winning it, so that's a little weird. I'd kick Radmanovich to the curb, and Joe Johnson, since they really don't need two guys from the same team, and toss in someone like Atkins, Mobley, Rafer Alston or Terry.

Cambridge is a suburb of Boston. Foxboro is it's own city, 30 some odd miles away, and like I said, closer to Rhode Island, a state the NEW ENGLAND Patriots also represent, along with CT, NH and VT. The Patriots haven't played a game in Boston for over 30 years, well before I was born. The parade was in Boston because it's the biggest city in New England, no surprise there. If Providence was the biggest city in the region, that's where it would be. I love how a dude from ILLINOIS is trying to tell me who and what I can be a fan of
