Joe Lieberman voted out of party, running as an Independent
EricMM replied to spman's topic in Current Events
Word has it something is wrong with Schlesinger. And that should show you what kind of Indy Joe really is. -
Heres my thing: I think the 360 is overpriced. If you can't bring a system to market at $299, then hold off until you can. but to more than double that? Thats a fat fat portion of my paycheck right there, and there is NO reason I should be spending over $700 at one time for VIDEOGAMES.

I do think it is stupid to build your body for appearance instead of strength, or pure machine strength with no endurance or stamina. So sue me. And, Dama, your calves will be fine. They may never ever get massive, but thats not their function. Again, as I said, you should never ever be lifting weight with your calves solely, so don't focus on them solely. Thats my point.
-
You pity those fools but then you foolishly focus on your calfs, so...
-
You can check the bag, its all about carry-ons.

Yes your back is getting a work out doing other things. Any time you're keeping your upper body straight while running, dancing, swimming, you're exercising your upper back. If you want more strength there, do the thing where you lock your legs and do reverse sit ups, maybe eventually with a weight. I would say abs and lower back are the one area of your body where going past 12 to 15-30 reps is fine, because your core is so dependant on ALWAYS being used, you need endurance there. After you do dips or pushups or bench presses or however, you're doing chests, you'll notice your triceps are flexed. Ditto backs and biceps. Do not worry you're working your whole body.
-
Which is my entire freaking point. DRH is going off like some fool weight lifter. Guess what, Dama SAID he wanted to gain strength, not become a body builder. If he had said he wanted to be a body builder, I would have given him different advice, or perhaps no advice at all, since body builders are frankly stupid. The reason you have to work an awful lot on your calves to get them big is because they are freaking TINY muscles. The only way to get them big is to be HEAVY. Work them costantly with being heavy. Machines can in no way substitute for that. If you only weigh 150, you'll have thinner calves than someone at 170. Also, every time you run, you're exercising your calf muscles. And you're also exercising your flexors, and I think quads. Isolation exercises are only reasonable if you need to isolate muscles, and the last thing martial arts are is isolation. You're frankly wasting your time and misusing your muscles if you're using your biceps and triceps as lifting muscles. You really really really need to figure out what you are going for here. If you are going for strength, exercise the major muscle groups to exhaustion using 8-12 reps of the heaviest weight possible, up to 3 sets. If you are going for endurance in anything, do THAT THING. IF you are looking for definition, cut your fat, and DO isolate, because definition comes from having large biceps and triceps and so on. But that doesn't build strength, or really up your metabolism, because they are insignifigant muscles in the grand scheme of your body. And as others have mentioned, it's an artificial and unnatural motion. The biceps is not a natural lifting muscle, it is an auxillary and stabilizing muscle while your back does the lifting. Ditto the tricep with your chest press, for instance. That's what it's SUPPOSED to be doing.

I wonder how the DC crowd will react...

Why the hell are you keeping with the 4x25? Do you miss my point? That many reps means you're not lifting enough. Its not like you're getting some kind of cardio build from that. If you ARE looking for endurance for your legs (?) then do whatever you need endurance FOR, to get endurance. Oh wait, is that the tippy toes machine? My god. Get off this pissant little baby muscle groups, like your calf and biceps. Focus on your chest, back, quads, hams, abs and lower back. Any work you do on that is going to effect your minor muscles as well. You're getting hooked on machines, and its bad for you.

I agree whole heartedly that the two men who survived were not the people who needed to have movies written about them. Frankly, I am dead against making a movie about it at all. But this is the worst of the worst.

4x12 is too many. 2 set is better than one by quite a margin, but 3 is not much better than two, and it diminishes further from there. Basically 3 sets should be your cap. If you're not exhausted there, up your weights. You're really really oversetting everything from what I see.
-
Either way my points are totally made. They're there, man. If you disagree I can't sway you any further.
-
But the res will be too low. I doubt you'll even be able to see the games at 480p
-
And obviously DS has a much much weaker visual area and graphics than the vaunted PSP. MUCH weaker. But its a much better system. So that fits my point to a T.
-
See, if you "don't like" Mario or Zelda, maybe you're not the target audience Nintendo wants. Granted I don't own a cube, but my roommate did, and it had some quality games, no doubt. Maybe you haven't heard the reports that Japanese devs. have begun moving away from the vaunted Sony machine because they're PS3 is just too fucking expensive. They're moving to (slightly) Xbox and (especially) Nintendo. Why? Because Nintendo is Japanese, and it's proven. Can you appreciate that *perhaps* the innovations of the W!! input may put it ahead of 360 AND PS3, quality wise, despite a lower resolution? In other news, the DS is killing the PSP. Yeah...
-
Exactly how long do you expect this system to be dominant? The Ps2 was five years. Even if you assume that the HD will be in most American's homes in three years, which I find laughable, leave that for the next gen. Maybe they decided that that would raise the costs of the system too high? They are not Microsoft or Sony, they cannot take many hundreds of dollars of loss on each system. How do you not know what you're getting when you get a Nintendo system? It may not have the fastest processors, but it will likely have the best games, or at least quite a few of them. I just fail to see how the resolution would make that much of a difference in the console market. Especially when I assume that HD TV's just aren't going to be that saturated this decade.
-
Basically, anyone yelling at babies is damn funny. Yeah, [adultswim] has all of the new eps up on their website, no need to be illicit now... ... IGNORE ME~!!
-
And people are worried about the resolution? It's going to be and look FINE. If the graphics are appreciably worse on the TV that I own (and most of America / The World owns) then we'll talk. Hint: most of us don't have HD TV's yet.
-
who fucking cares? This isn't real life, these are videogames. Everything is rendered anyways. You'd take the PS3's HD nothing over W!!'s announced and displayed and innovative games?
-
I fell asleep during the Family Guy and Robot Chicken, and I missed it. May have to vidi The Fix and see whats what. Still caught me some Venture Brothers. IGNORE ME!!!
