  1. Wow, Spike is being the bad guys here. More so than TNA not doing the right thing for its product. This reminds me of what happened (though not a total mirror of the things that went on) promotional wise when ECW was on TNN. They stick it on a time when people would not be home to watch television (newsflash Spike/TNN: Friday and Saturday Nights are dead nights for shows, and have been since the 90s, hence why the lineups on those nights keep changing) thereby the full potential ratings for the show will never be reached, but you'll at least get people to record the show if you promote it more... That's right Spike doesn't even do that. Except for a few commericals on Monday, and Saturdays, TNA is rarely mentioned on the network. They do promote the shit out of UFC, and their videogame show though (which comes on at 12:00 AM Saturday Night, ironically). Though TNA is also gulity. Impact has become a jobber filled show. I acutally liked it better when they were doing 2 "big" matches a week. TNA needs a 2 Hour Show, badly. Othewise I have a bad feeling this will continue.
  2. This is what I get for not paying attention. Sorry Iggy, I honestly didn't see your thread. Edit: Nevermind. Just let my thread die.
  3. Janurary is over, and Feburary begins in 2 short days. That means it is time for College Hoops to get really interesting (Not that is already hasn't) as Tournament hopes truly begin to get made, or begin to get truly broken (some already are, but we know that) for the Power, Major and even a Few Mid Majors (MAAC, CAA, for example), and a even a team from the Small Conference Level (Bucknell). So Feburary is definetely going to be a exciting month. Possibly the most exciting month in a great season. And without futher adue. Here are some numbers to look at. The RPI of Each Team (Since these Numbers now Matter) RPI of each Conference (Good numbers to look at, as well. Escpecially if you're rooting for a Bucknell, Iona, Hofstra, or UAB to get an At Large Bid) I'll soon post the Bracket Buster matchups as soon as I get my hands on them, since they're being released today.
  4. Any idea why the Big East made their conference schedule that way? Wouldn't it have made more sense to have a 15 game conference schedule where everyone plays every other team once or an 18 game schedule with the three home and home series? A 16 game schedule with three home and homes and no games against two conference teams is really dumb and unbalanced. One Word, Four Letters: ESPN The Big East is still under the old contract and they determine the matchups that get on Television, so the whole damn schedule is dictated by that. After the 2007 season, the contract is to be renewed, and I think you will see a BIG change. And it may just be a 16 game schedule (1 Game aganist all 15 teams, each, and a return rivarly game) or the 15 or 18 game schedules you're talking about. Though unless the NCAA goes to a 30 game regular season, maximum, you may not see an 18 game schedule, because the coaches don't want it. And for Louisville, I think you're blaming the wrong part of the schedule, cabbageboy. The OOC schedule was beyond pathetic, and I think it didn't prepare them enough for the Big East, escpecially since the roster is so immature. It should've been tougher, IMO.
  5. Fixed. Sounds like the whole PPV sucked. After Final Resolution being dissapointing for finishes, I'm glad I decided to watch the UNC/Duke Women's game instead.
  6. As for the West Virginia loss....Look at the 3 point shots. There's your answer. If they're off, the worst team in the country can beat you (which Marshall is a top contender for) I'm also not surprised Florida lost, looking at their schedule...At least UConn played in a highpowered tournament. This just makes the SEC look even worse, when their top team has lost 2 straight conference games. They better win their next one, or that ranking is going to plummet. Speaking of rankings plummeting. Seton Hall took NC State to the woodshed by 18 points, in Raliegh. This marks the second year that they lose to a bottom of the barrel Big East Team.
  7. *Looks at Thread* *Drops Mouth at the Mysterio Prediction* *Sees People get excited* *Sees the Ortpn Cover.* *Sees Princess Leena kiss it* *Sees Tony reveal his "familial" source* *Yawns*
  8. UConn's a similar situation, as their schedule's not quite as weak as Florida's, but they haven't really done anything outside of the Gonzaga win, and they're the only team in the Top 8 that has a really bad loss. A number 32 RPI says no. I'm not going to argue whether Duke should be Number 1, but there is no question who 2 should be. Despite their OOC SoS, they're in the best conference in the nation, bar none (last weekend proved this) and they've only lost to a team, while not a Top Team, with a RPI in the Top 35, who has a winning IC Record we last checked. So yeah, this is my first Major Disagreement your rankings.
  9. Good: Syracuse is your National Champions!! (2003) The Yankees lose in the ALCS 2004 The Grand Slam Single The Miracle in San Fransisco (Giants go to the Super Bowl) The Miracle in Tampa Bay (Buffalo misses a Field Goal for Giants win in Super Bowl 25) A Whole bunch of Pete Sampras Wins (escpecially when he beat Assagi) Sugar Bowl 2006 HOYAS WIN!! HOYAS WIN!! HOYAS WIN!! HOYAS WIN!! Bad: Subway Series 2000 Kenny Fucking Rogers (1999 ALCS is lost off a walk in run) Starks keeps Shooting and Keeps Missing (1994 NBA Finals) The 2001 Final Four Nova gets Jobbed by a Traveling Call that didn't exist The conclusion of the 1998 NBA Finals The 1996 National Championship (Cuse never had a chance) The 2002 Wildcard Playoff Choke (Giants snatch defeat from the jaws of victory) The Lucas 3 Pointer that beat St. Joseph's.
  10. With 2:29 and with Free Throws U-Conn is up 65 - 55. If UConn wins this game. Here's my Top 5. 1) UConn 2) Duke 3) Villanova 4) Florida 5) Memphis Then you have Texas and Illinois who also have cases (escpecially with CUSA being so damn bad....) this is going to cause any voter a headache.
  11. Dama, my bad. I was too high on the Big East Victory Parade to notice it. And that is classic Knight. He usually sums it all up in one question when he loses, and with this Texas Tech Team that sucks big time, the less said, the better.
  12. I think what the most amazing things are. - All 12 Teams that make the Tournament may have a shot to go to the postseason in some form. - The only truly sucky team in this conference is South Florida and possibly DePaul (Though they beat Wake Forest in Winston Salem)
  13. I know you love your independents, but I love my Big East Teams, and ND State has got to take a back seat to Georgetown. (Though the ND State Bisons rock for winning) I saw it happening, but I still don't beleive it! Duke lost!! Go Hoyas!! Go Big East!! (Know that my Inner Big East Fanboy is smiling today.) Now Bruce Pearl, please defeat Florida, please? The world does not need an SEC Team as the #1 Team in the nation. Oh yeah...Has Dukie V gone into suicide watch yet?
  14. Man, what a game last night. It was the first time I watched the Crosstown Shootout from Beginning to End, and I have to say it really is the most underrated rivalry game in College Basketball. It draws you in, and doesn't let you go until the final buzzer. Both Cincinatti and Xavier played a solid game, sans the Free Throws down the stretch, when neither team could make their shots. What was surprising was that Xavier won anyway even though it made one 3 pointer out of the 20 it took. It really did come down to the fouls and the players on the court. Congrats to Xavier though. If they win on Sunday, they'll definetely be ranked.
  15. And tonight following the UNC/Virginia is the big Cincinatti Rivarly Game. Xavier Vs. Cincinatti. Go Musketeers!!
  16. And Louisville loses yet another one. This time to St. Johns. Kentucky stopped the bleeding as well.
  17. Last night was nuts. Kansas had the game, and I mean literally had the game. They spent the last 6 minutes, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, and after seeing the Syracuse/UConn game, I wished they hadn't left it. Tonights 4 games all look to be pretty hot. Not to mention ESPN Classic is showing games again with Villanova/Seton Hall tonight. Speaking of tonight's games. Does anyone wish they would stop showing so many SEC games, and give us more Valley ones?
  18. I will always say (and people disagree with me greatly) that Sonic 3 and Knuckles is the greatest Sonic Game ever.
  19. I don't think anyone else gives a crap, but in the Martin Luther King JR. Afternoon Battle, which was a MEAC Game. The North Carolina A & T Aggies defeated the Bethune Cookman Wildcats 69 - 67 off a couple of Free Throws with 7 seconds left. The Aggies leave the category of the winless that is occupied by such teams as (subtracting Non D-I wins) Morehead State, Savannah State, Morgan State and Baylor. There was even a celebration as the fans rushed out onto the field like they've just won a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
  20. And now, the Major Conference Rankings. ACC Duke (1) 4-0 16-0 N.C. 21. After a wild first 2 weeks, where we have seen. Teams being upset. Teams rising beyond expectations, Teams Falling Flat and others just becoming invisible. The College Hoops Season Continues along. We're now in the 3rd Week of Conference Play. Lets start with the Weekly Wrapup. RPI as of 1/16/2006 1 Big Ten 0.5956 2 ACC 0.5864 3 SEC 0.5830 4 Big East 0.5824 5 Missouri Valley 0.5641 6 Big XII 0.5522 7 Pac 10 0.5503 8 Mountain West 0.5254 9 Atlantic 10 0.5199 10 Colonial Athletic 0.5158 11 Western Athletic 0.5126 12 West Coast 0.5111 13 MAAC 0.5083 14 Horizon League 0.5031 15 Mid-American 0.5023 16 Sun Belt 0.4933 17 Conference USA 0.4881 18 Big Sky 0.4773 19 Southland 0.4756 20 Ohio Valley 0.4687 21 Patriot League 0.4653 22 Southern 0.4582 23 Big South 0.4579 24 Ivy League 0.4522 25 Big West 0.4451 26 America East 0.4438 27 Northeast 0.4431 28 Mid Continent 0.4369 29 MEAC 0.4307 30 Independent 0.4222 31 SWAC 0.4140 32 Atlantic Sun 0.4114 Lots of things look the same, except for the Big XII which jump up 5 spots to 6th overall. The SEC is now over the Big East in RPI, which makes you scratch your head as well. Otherwise things look quite the same.
  22. Guys, Sega has nothing to do with this war, not anyore anyway. Visual Concepts was bought/acquired by Take Two Interactive.
  23. So it seems like Ron Killings is going to be in the middle of all of this.
  24. Yeah, he is. You can see it as he's lying down.
  25. Big Day Today in College Hoops with Matchups OOC and In Conference that could decide a bit going into the premeir episode of College Gameday which is next week. 19 Ranked Teams in Action, with Villanova and Texas being the game of the Day as it is BIG for both teams. Seems like another action packed day in College Hoops.
