People say this a lot, but is it really true? On any given day if you pull up the "Today's active topics" on the main page almost none of them are WWE/TNA/Indies related. It seems most days there are maybe two active topics in the WWE folder. Just doesn't seem like it gets the attention that people say it gets.

Ditto. It was one provider in Canada that only had 19 buys for one of ROH's shows. There hasn't been a number released yet for overall PPV buys. Let's not let facts get in the way of a really hilarious story.

I didn't mean it in that fashion really. There's just something odd by running to a different folder to complain about another one. Here's an honest question though. Establishing that the WWE folder sucks, how do we set about improving it? I notice there is a distinct lack of topics in that forum. If you feel you're an intelligent poster (speaking to the board at large here), start some more intelligent topics. What is the board's consensus on the General Wrestling folder? Well I never expected this to become the 20-page lumbering monster that it is. Originally I was just having a particularly bad day with the WWE folder and decided to lump my complaints into this thread. Bringing all this stuff up in that folder would just derail discussion and get me into internet pissing matches that I'm not really interested in. As far improving said folder, I'm not sure that it's something that will happen organically. The board's best posters have all moved on and I think WWE plays such a small role, if any, in their everday thoughts that there's little that could bring them back to posting there. Honestly, as was suggested in the previous couple of posts, combining all the wrestling discussion into one folder may be the only way to keep it trafficked.

That sounds like a sensible idea given the lack of activity in those folders, but logistically I'm not sure how you'd pull it off. Maybe just have one General Wrestling folder, with sub-folders for TNA and Old School?

That's not the issue. It's their utter lack of contempt for anything meaningful that happens outside of the old time baseball fraternity.

Let's Talk About..........The Natural Born Thrillers
Cheech Tremendous replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
I believe the issue was that they gave him this great character and awesome vignettes to build it up but he just died in front of a live audience. He just couldn't convey the emotion of the character in front of the crowd and so the whole build-up was all for naught. They tried a few things with Piper and ultimately just ended up releasing him. -
Is that artice supposed to be in tongue-in-cheek? I really don't think it is, but there aren't any baseball writers out there that are that dense, are there? That was just atrocious on every level.

I used to draw those all the time in like 5th grade. Don't know why, but they were cool.

I really didn't want to post in this thread anymore (because I'm tired of being called a fucking grouch) but the opportunity to use spoiler tags proved far too attractive.

What is 10,000 BC about? Even after seeing the commercial a few dozen times I cannot discern what the premise or story is.

No.

I sat next to Ashly Parker Angel in Geometry class. Does that better satisfy the criteria of this thread?

Semifinals, TSM Worst Poster Tournament
Cheech Tremendous replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in No Holds Barred
Truthiness just joined in January 2007. He has a few more years to hone his horribleness. MVP/Marvin is going to be epic! -
Nice career, kid. Thanks for the dunk contest memories.

Do you guys really need spoiler tags for fantasy booking?

Michael Irvin and I took a piss together at the Palms in Vegas. Should have asked him for some crack.

That sounds like a lot of hyperbole in regards to Cueto. He works his fastball in the low 90s, not the upper 90s. He does have excellent command and control of his pitches, but his stuff's not electric. I see him settling in as a #2/#3 starter and he could reach that ceiling soon, but that's probably it. He just looks good against minor leaguers because he's so composed and mature on the mound. He doesn't have Homer Bailey's stuff and he never will.

I don't want to rehash the Dunn arguments I've made multiple times, but it is disheartening when franchises try to expose their own players flaws instead of highlighting their strengths. Adam Dunn is not just a good player, he's a borderline great player and Cincinnati is going to let him walk next year because he strikes out too much. There's a serious flaw in the decision making of their upper management.

As bad as Alexander was last year (and he was bad), I can't see a Duckett/Jones platoon being an improvement.

Just caught snippets from an interview with Dusty Baker. He said that he doesn't care for the plate approaches of Joey Votto or Adam Dunn. He feels they should be swinging instead of taking pitches. Sigh. It's almost like he says this stuff just to rile people up.

Seahawks have signed TJ Duckett and Julius Jones. So about that Shaun Alexander guy...
