Yeah seriously... Taping out cleanly, in the main event of Wrestlemania, how is that not putting someone over?

The only reason why Toronto hated him really was because of his feud with their hometown hero Edge. He got a very large pop when I attended Summerslam 2004 from the Toronto crowd.

OAO WrestleMania 23 Thread-April 1st, 2007

When I said that, I didn't mean to label Kane as a bad worker, because he is far from it, but he is a lazy worker, who hasn't, atleast IMO put on a good matches prior to the MVP matches in ages. It seems like he is very unmotivated, but really who can blame him? I hope he gets a decent title run soon. -

I find it funny so many people are so quick to bash MVP's in-ring work, when he was able to drag good matches out of Kane. I don't get where this whole "MVP is a bad worker" started. I understand some may not like his gimmick, although me personally, I'm rollin with it. But seriously, the guy is a good worker. Maybe I'm the only one who's been paying attention to his in-ring work, and not totally writing him off as a "crappy" worker. He is a very solid worker, and is capable of a good match, and with someone like Benoit, he's capable of putting on a great match. Chris Benoit in real life, is MVP's role model, even in DSW he would pull off the crossface, and called it "Tribute to Benoit". So being able to work with your role model at the grandest stage of em all, infront of 70,000 fans, I expect MVP to be busting his ass in that match. -
Excatly. The one thing I dislike about Pro Wrestling fans is their short-term memories. John Cena just a couple years ago problay was the most charismatic wrestler in the whole WWE. The whole "8 Mile" gimmick was a huge success, and is the reason why Cena is a main eventer now. I remember back then how everyone, including the smarks were saying how Cena should be a main eventer. Now I know that that cut that gimmick, and now John Cena isn't as good as he was with that gimmick, but he still is getting it done. He still draws a reaction, weather it's good or bad. Even when it's a bad reaction Cena has proved time and time again he is able to adapt to it and still have the fans in the palm of his hands, I.E. Wrestlemania 22 and ECW ONS:II. Me personally, I'm glad to have him as an WWE superstar, he goes out and and busts his ass to put on the best wrestling match possible, even with his limited wrestling ability. Sure he might not be The Rock, or Stone Cold, but really, who cares? That's how wrestlers start to become unsucessful, is when you guys try to compare so and so to so and so. Why does John Cena have to be the next Rock or Stone Cold? Why can't he be the next John Cena? I say the same shit when my homies try to compare Kobe, LeBron or Wade to MJ. Why does Kobe, LeBron, or Wade have to be the next Jordan? Why can't they be the next Kobe, the next LeBron or the next Wade?

What would you consider Kavanaugh? A face, heel, or tweener? I would say tweener. Antwon Mitchell was by far the best heel on the show, Anthony Anderson was just so convincing in his role. Antwon blasting that little girl who snitched him out infront of Shane and his hispanic partner was the most gangsta thing I've seen on a primetime TV show.

Excatly, he would be a great IC or US Champion/Contender though. Raz is just a little slow.
-
Yeah, I don't see why everyone is fussing over the tights. It fits his character, that and his entrance.
-
I remember when everyone never gave MVP a chance, he's basically the same wrestler he was before. He had good matches with Kane that were always overlooked.

This would be one of the last PPV's I would change.

Now that's announcing your presence with authority. Yeah! Good. -
I don't think so. Gassing and giving up are two different things in a fight. BJ never really gave up in the fight. Giving up is quiting on the stool, or asking the ref to stop it. Saying a fighter gave up when he actually gassed is an insult to fighter, that's just how I view things, I can see how others would be objective though, because not training on your cardio is basically giving up.

Yeah I feel you, I once thought GSP was a much better striker then Joslin due to not seeing alot of Joslin, but I've watched alot of Joslin's fights since then and I can safely say that he is a better pure striker then GSP. While GSP can be considered a really good striker, there are still area's he can improve in as displayed in the BJ Penn fight you already mentioned. In an MMA fight GSP would pounded the living piss out of Joslin, but in a kickboxing match, Joslin would take it. GSP won the fight against Penn because he was able to takedown Penn and pound him on the ground in the 2nd half of the fight.

Why not? You guys should be blessed with my presences! I'm not the one talking about other people's losses to notable fighters and forget the fighter who is likely going to win TUF5, and his loss to the current UFC LW Champion... Sucka.
-
I'm allowed to make my mandatory posts here! Actually I think the people here are nicer then BK And yes you do suck nuts.
-
Dude, Joslin is a much more techncial and pure striker then GSP, I figured you would know that. Yes GSP is a better overall MMA fighter then Joslin, but as far as pure striking? Ain't no one fuckin with Joslin at 170, aside from Ludwig. I ain't selling Diego short at all, infact I've always usually defended him when people were ragging on him. I always knew Sanchez is an elite fighter at 170, I just feel Koscheck is better, not a knock on Diego at all. It won't suprise me if Diego wins the fight, it's going to be a close fight either way, but I see Koscheck winning it.

That's more of a reason to whine..one time might be acceptable but jobbing twice to Matt Hardy is even worse. I'm not saying Kennedy is doomed to fail now or anything like that, and I don't think this will even be remembered in a month's time. I just think it's a stupid idea to have one of the front runners to win MITB lose to the guy who in my opinion has the lowest shot of winning. Who gives a fuck, if anything it could be used as a storyline for later events. They could use the fact that Matt Hardy has Kennedy's number when Kennedy becomes a main eventer and they wrestle. Sorta like Benjamin/HHH, and Benoit/HHH. And how is it a stupid idea to have one of the front runners to win MITB to lose to a guy who isn't likely to win? If anything it helps make the match look like it anyone could win it. Kennedy will recover from it. -
Hate to burst your bubble, but... You should re-read his post.

Josh Koscheck's stand up didn't look good against Jeff Joslin, because Joslin is arguably the best striker at 170. Anyone who thought Koscheck was going to beat Joslin standing up, should be shot in the head. Infact I think Joslin is a horrible match up for Diego Sanchez because Sanchez doesn't have the takedowns like Koscheck does, and Joslin has a great sprawl. I think Koscheck is going to beat Diego Sanchez by a close but clear desicion. Belcher is going to beat the shit out of Kendall Grove, mark my words.

Ken Kennedy jobbed big deal, he's likely going to win MITB. Besides, this isn't the 1st time Kennedy jobbed to Matt Hardy, so stop whining. -
Well Gabe beat Jason Maxwell whom beat Jens Pulver... so using MMAth, Gabe > Maxwell > Pulver!
