CBright7831 replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
Yeah, the belt did change alot in 99. Rock Mankind Rock Mankind Rock Austin Taker Austin Mankind Triple H Mr. McMahon Triple H Big Show Then again in 2002 we got... Jericho Triple H Hogan Taker Rock Lesnar Big Show Angle But it still wasn't as bad as 99. -
Flair's DVD would have been flawless had they put a better Flair/Sting match on the DVD. They put a crappy unification match when they should have put the COTC time limit draw one. So, I'm going with Benoit's DVD.

Here is a link to some trivia for the film... http://imdb.com/title/tt0193524/trivia + A sequal of sorts was considered after the success of the Empire Strikes Back, but was stopped mid-production, however a handful of scenes were shot and are now circulated as bootlegs also. The second special also involved some forshadowing of the feature films, it introduced the charecter of Count Dooku, who was later played Christopher Lee in Episode II.

I don't know if I would buy the Star Wars Holiday Special on DVD. My favorite character in the original trilogy is Darth Vader, and he appears once during the special (archive footage of him in the Death Star) and once during the cartoon (we don't even see him animated, we just see his face as he talks w/ Boba Fett. http://www.stomptokyo.com/sings/swholiday/sw-animated.html

Adam West. Although a movie didn't kill him, a certain role did. He will forever be known as Batman.

Let's look at Chris Tucker's filmography over the last seven years. Rush Hour 3 (2005) (pre-production) .... Detective James Carter Rush Hour 2 (2001) .... Detective James Carter Rush Hour (1998) .... Detective James Carter Of course, this could be due to his outrageous salary demands.

I don't think Lucas was involved at all. At least, that's what I've heard. Lucas did some work on it, but he is uncredited. Writing credits (in alphabetical order) George Lucas uncredited Pat Proft Leonard Ripps Bruce Vilanch Rod Warren http://imdb.com/title/tt0193524/fullcredits#writers

Oh come on, I don't know hiw people think this is so bad. It's not as bad as most people claim, but it's definitely the worst movie with Jim Carrey I've ever seen... that he had a starring role in that is. Ace Ventura when nature calls was worse. So anyone know somewhere online where I can pick this up? (Star Wars Xmas Special that is) You can download it from various places like Kazaa, mIRC, limewire, etc. There are also sites on the internet which you can d/l it. Ebay would probably be a good bet if you want to own it. I saw the cartoon part, and all of the voices are reprised by the actors who play them, including James Earl Jones for the voice of Darth Vader.

Goldust didn't attend either.

Bush was another favorite to win in 2001. He wasn't as influencial as bin Laden or Guiliani, thogh. He was close, but they were more so. Is it usually the winning candidate that gets the MotY award during a presidential election year? I really don't know. I only started following TIME's Person of the Year when they were considering Bin Laden for Person of the Year. Then I did my research on it.

Someone compared Gollum to Jar Jar Binks. Please, never do that again. Ever. Gollum at least had a soul. And I agree with you all, it's just walking around New Zealand for acouple of hours.

Mark Hamill Star Wars killed his career. Yeah, I know, he does voices for cartoons now, but I don't count that. He honestly can't show his face on a movie screen anymore without doing a parody from Star Wars.

Have any of you ever seen it?

And you may be right.

http://www.wrestlecrap.com/swholidayspecial.html Good God. Over the years, I've heard about this atrocity and I've thought "It can't be that bad." Reading that review and hearing soundbytes proved that I was indeed wrong. No wonder Lucas wants this thing to be erased from time.

Bush Named Time's Person of 2004 By SAM DOLNICK NEW YORK (AP) - After winning re-election and ``reshaping the rules of politics to fit his 10-gallon-hat leadership style,'' President George Bush for the second time was chosen as Time magazine's Person of the Year. The magazine's editors tapped Bush ``for sharpening the debate until the choices bled, for reframing reality to match his design, for gambling his fortunes - and ours - on his faith in the power of leadership.'' Time's 2004 Person of the Year package, on newsstands Monday, includes an Oval Office interview with Bush, an interview with his father, former President George H. W. Bush, and a profile of Bush's chief political adviser, Karl Rove. In an interview with the magazine, Bush attributed his victory over Democratic candidate John Kerry to his foreign policy and the wars he began in Afghanistan and Iraq. ``The election was about the use of American influence,'' Bush said. After a grueling campaign, Bush remains a polarizing figure in America and around the world, and that's part of the reason he earned the magazine's honor, said Managing Editor Jim Kelly. ``Many, many Americans deeply wish he had not won,'' Kelly said in a telephone interview. ``And yet he did.'' In the Time article, Bush said he relishes that some people dislike him. ``I think the natural instinct for most people in the political world is that they want people to like them,'' Bush said. ``On the other hand, I think sometimes I take kind of a delight in who the critics are.'' Bush joins six other presidents who have twice won the magazine's top honor: Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower (first as a general), Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. Franklin Roosevelt holds the record with three nods from the editors. Kelly said Bush has changed dramatically since he was named Person of the Year in 2000 after the Supreme Court awarded him the presidency. ``He is not the same man,'' Kelly said. ``He's a much more resolute man. He is personally as charming as ever but I think the kind of face he's shown to the American public is one of much, much greater determination.'' The magazine gives the honor to the person who had the greatest impact, good or bad, over the year. Kelly said other candidates included Michael Moore and Mel Gibson, ``because in different ways their movies tapped in to deep cultural streams,'' and political strategist Rove, who is widely credited with engineering Bush's win. Kelly said choosing Rove alone would have taken away from the credit he said Bush deserves. This is the first time an individual has won the award since 2001, when then-New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was celebrated for his response to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. The American soldier earned the honor last year; in 2002, the magazine tapped Coleen Rowley, the FBI agent who wrote a critical memo on FBI intelligence failures, and Cynthia Cooper and Sherron Watkins, who blew the whistle on scandals at Enron and Worldcom. 12/19/04 08:25 © Copyright The Associated Press.
