  1. *laughs in spite of himself*
  2. You said that earlier, so you already met the quota of Vic Grimes-related posts today.
  3. Yeah he was... When/where (aside from WM retrospectives)?
  4. Are you also C-and-P'ing the Nitro/Thunder match results from The Wrestling Information Archive? Are you doing the same for Worldwide/Pro/Main/Event/Sat. Night (1997-2001) from DDTDigest? Just asking, as that would save a TON of time.
  5. As you all know, this Sunday marks the fifth anniversary of Owen Hart's fatal fall at Over the Edge in Kansas City. Since then (after the "Raw is OWEN" special the following night), the WWE has been quick to blank out any mention of the event and has been hesitant to use Owen's name and likeness. The event is still the only WWE PPV never released on video. The event was never referred to after June of 1999. In fact, it wasn't even called by name after 5/23/99, only "last month's PPV." When going over the history of the Taker-Austin feud for JDay01, they referred to their previous World title clash in May at CDiH, ignoring their OtE match entirely. More recently, the title of Edge's autobiography was changed from its working title of "Over the Edge." Owen himself wasn't even shown in video packages until the 'History of WWF' video from 2/2002. Now, Owen is shown only sparingly in highlights, most recently in clips from his SSlam 94 match with his brother Bret (shown on Confidential). a) That said, SHOULD the WWE mention Owen Hart this Sunday/Monday, seeing as how this is the anniversary of the death of a loyal and popular worker? After all, his passing was noted in the news around the world and he is still talked about today almost as much as he was when he was alive. b) In your opinion, WILL the WWE actually mention him? Or does the above evidence convince you that they will/won't even bring it up?
  6. That is correct. Yeah, that's what I meant when I said that. I remember thinking how that was so clever of them to do; they maintained continuity extending back about 15 years by doing so.
  7. But aren't you supposed to be instituting a culture of normality in Iraq? That seems to be one of the key points Bush, et al. point out as a positive from the invasion: things are returning to normal, people should go about their daily business, etc. Firing guns in celebration of a wedding is (apparently) a common custom in the Middle East. You'd think that the troops would know that by now and at least send someone to check on what's happening. Not go walking blindly into the area, mind you, but at least check it out from a distance instead of making a potentially disastrous assumption. Whether this report is true or not, it seems to me that this invasion has had a lot of moments where the coalition says "Go about your daily lives.....WAIT! NOT THAT!" I get the impression that the coalition needs more people in tune with the Arab world so they clarify their intentions and don't make more mistakes like the (alleged) one described above.
  8. Asking people to 'presume' things or 'use their imagination' is apparently too much to ask in this day & age. While this is admittedly a small detail, on a show like this, it's damn important to explain what the hell is going on to the audience rather than leave it up to the audience to guess whatever the hell they want. Like when they refused to tell us who attacked Angle last February or Lesnar in July and just left it up to the audience to guess that they fooled highly trained medical technicians. Eugene's jacket is a joke for sharp-eyed people, the kind who figured out why Chyna was called the 9th Wonder of the World when there were only 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. It's not a big running gag; King's not laughing about it every week. In fact, I don't think it's ever been mentioned on TV. And it's not like your examples because nobody spends 5min on Heat or BottomLine asking "WHY IS EUGENE'S JACKET INSIDE OUT? Tune into RAW to find out!"
  9. It's the promo poster for the show.
  10. No, WCW never released a single DVD.
  11. No, it's legal for public toplessness in ON and in several US states (including NY).
  12. 1. If it's as good as their JD match supposedly was, you may be entertained by this one. 2. More spectacle than match, this one would be good to see live, if only for the great photos that would result. 3. Probably not, IMO. Hopefully, they'll move on to actual challengers to the title. Basically, GO! It's a PPV in Norfolk. This is the first since, what, WW3 '95? Come on, you'll have fun and the card should be good.
  13. Out: Booker T In: Mordecai
  14. Out: Booker T In: Mordecai
  15. No, it's different (no VII symbol on staff, horizontal beam of cross splits off into two beams perpendicular to vertical beam of cross). Also, see my avatar.
  16. Mark it down: Eddie Guerrero vs. JBL in a Cage Match at the Great American Bash on 6/27 in Norfolk, VA.
  17. JoeDirt, Did you get my PM?
  18. DH, did you get the webcast or...?
  19. Heat match tapings airing tonight, taken from Monday's satellite feed. Richards/Rhyno, Hurri/Rosey vs. Jobbers, Venis vs. Cade
  20. MORDECAI's ENTRANCE (from today's tech rehearsal): HERE!!!
  21. MORDECAI's ENTRANCE (from today's tech rehearsal): HERE!!!
  22. Can't believe there are people in the cheap nosebleed seats tonight; you'd think they would have blacked out that section.
  23. Well, the enormous entrance set is probably to distract the fans from noticing the empty seats.
  24. This PPV is brought to you by JESUS! Look at that entrance set, man; that's kee-razy.
  25. More mainstream than the other 99% of WWE superstars; a Rock comes around once a decade or so, so he's not really a fair example.
