  1. What the crowd wants < serious injury
  2. Hey, nobody seemed to care when Andre was jobbing in 1min to the Warrior around the horn back in '89...and that's when house shows meant something! Look, you're going to have to get used to seeing SD! Lite at house shows; that's Vince's strategy and it's going to take a while to change that. All I'm saying is this: why bother busting your ass (and possibly ending your own career) in front of 2500 in Biloxi when you can go out in a blaze of glory on TV or PPV?
  3. I agree 100%; the house shows don't matter, so why bother aggravating an injury when you don't have to?

  5. I'm not sure you can prove whether he did or didn't.
  6. My theory: it's as risky and risque as one can get while also knowing that you'll probably never ever MEET them. I mean, if a girl flashes some guy in person, she can't just run away and never see him again; he'll probably want/expect more. On the internet, though, she could just change email accounts/SNs/chat rooms and poof!...she's vanished. Basically, it's both very personal and very anonymous, and it lets girls show off what they got without the recipient of the flash expecting some sweet, sweet lovin' in return. Makes more sense than any theory I could have possibly come up with. -=Mike TheMikeSC liked my theory! *walks confidently in slow motion*
  7. Right, but their JOB is to make fun of things. The leader of our country (and the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces) should not be making those kinds of comments, satirical convention or not. He could have talked about ANYTHING else, but instead he chose to make this controversial decision. Let's try it this way: let's say that you're a fan of a sports team...let's say the Cincinnati Bengals. Early in the year, the coach hypes up the fans and says that this season will be a great one, that we'll accomplish all our goals, etc. You're excited about the season's prospects. The season starts, and the team has a mediocre first few months. Meanwhile, the coach keeps stressing that the team WILL get the job done and that they WILL make the playoffs. You have faith in the coach and think that he can turn the team around, but you're a little less sure of it then you were before. It gets down to Week 13, and the team is 3-8. Going into the game, the coach addresses a press conference, saying :"we'll get the job done, and we'll...aw, who am I kidding? We haven't done anything this year!" The room erupts with laughter. How do you think his players would feel? How would you feel? 'Cause that's the way it appears many people on these forums felt after those comments were made.

  9. What about Charlie Brown (from out of town)? Jimmy Valiant did Mr. America about 20 years before WWE did.
  10. That's mentioned in the film 'Liar Liar' but I dunno if it's true or not. And in most cases, the fine print on the back of the ticket waives the arena/performers of responsibility; generally, you're on your own once you step inside. If you jump the rail or provoke the wrestlers in any other way, you have NO leg to stand on; they can beat the shit out of you if they want to. After all, you were the one who instigated it, not them. The aforementioned RVD case is presumably different because, well, RVD hit him first, not the other way around. Or it could be because ECW didn't always cover all their bases and may have forgotten to address the liability issue on tickets/programs/etc. EDIT: And wrestlers diving into the crowd and being close enough to potentially hit someone isn't usually expected at a wrestling event, so that was probably part of it too.
  11. That one was a Coliseum Video Exclusive from...I want to say Invasion '92, but I might be wrong.
  12. Also, SD! is syndicated and shown on the weekends in some markets...
  13. He's gotta have a midcard feud with _somebody_ before you re-elevate him to the main event level; it only worked with the Big Show because he's really, really large.
  14. Well, his gimmick actually looks good to me. If he can keep his smarmy heel schtick going it'll get over even more and JD's ME might be better than we expect right now.
  15. holy crap, I did NOT know that was hidden in that archived site. Thanks so much!

  17. Actually, it was just called the "World Championship" when Rock/Jericho held it and that's generally considered to be a different phase in the title's history than the 'HHH and after' era.
  18. The WWE's stance on this has flip-flopped; they have sometimes said it's a new title, but they also did a Confidential feature in 9/02 about 'great World Heavyweight Champions' and profiled Sting, DDP, Flair, and Hogan. At the wrestling-titles.com forums, this has been a 20-month debate, but title history god Dan Poutsma has described it like this: 1) Bischoff never said he was "stripping" Lesnar of any particular championship [on the 9/2/02 RAW]. He just said that RAW was "disputing" the Undisputed title after Brock became exclusive to SmackDown! and that they were gonna recognize their own world champ in Triple H, who had earned the number one contender spot to the Undisputed title prior. 2) It was said later on that Triple H was awarded a "resurrected" title, which insinuates that there was a period where it laid dormant and was inactive. 3) Bischoff went out of his way to mention when he was awarding Big Goldy to Triple H that he was also the last person to wear/hold it. Based on these three premises, that leads me to conclude that as far as they're concerned, the World title was retired when Big Goldy was retired shortly after Wrestlemania 18, meaning that the Undisputed title only contained both titles during the reigns of Jericho and Triple H until they got rid of Big Goldy and the old WWF championship belt in favor of a new one.

    WWE 24/7

    Where did you hear that?
  20. No, it was several months before that (I want to say 12/99).
  21. So probably Booker T - RVD at JDay?
  22. Mean Street Posse attacking him at the circus was a good one too.
  23. re: the belt: Yeah, I'm assuming it was deliberate. Good to see him actually wear it in the beltular region, though, unlike most other champions.
  24. Good. A slow burn to the ECW angle is better than 'well, I got fired, so I'll rehire all my old workers for no apparent reason."
  25. By doing that, wouldn't they be the first people to win both sets of tag titles?
