Here's a better comparison: it's like baseball. Some guys live their lives trying to make it to the big leagues. They see it as a lifestyle. Others just have fun with it and play against their friends or in local leagues. They see it as a hobby. I haven't heard pros call non-pros a 'black mark' on baseball just because they don't want to play in MLB. Uh, no, I'd say the comparison there would be wrestling for the indy's if you didn't want to make it to the big leagues. Backyard is more like the idiot stepchild with down's syndrome of wrestling. So, rather than make a valid contribution to this thread, you decided to use my analogy to make a puerile comment about your dislike of backyard wrestling. Good jearb.

Update (or for our bilingual friends, el updateo): I accepted his offer and will be getting 4 free PPVs sent to me, so it all worked out OK. I guess I'll just have to be more careful. Thanks, guys, for all your help and advice!

I'm against this move, and not because of how Brock has been or will be booked. Think about how much time, money, and effort the WWE has put into promoting Brock as one of the top 5 guys in the company. The trade-ad campaigns that reportedly center on him as an example of WWE's top talent are now useless. Regardless of whether or not the wrestling lifestyle is right for him or not, Brock should have given the WWE more notice before his departure or he should at least work a limited schedule until JDay in May. That way, they can phase him out and use him to do the 'time-honored tradition' on his way out the door.

WrestleMania XX: Where It All Begins....to End.
-
*shrugs* I take it differently, and frankly, I could see Brock walking on the match, if it is scripted up like JD98 (like so many of us immediately thought). I kinda think he would leave, hence why I said that. then he's in for breach of contract and loses that lofty purse. Not to mention the subsequent burial he'd get as a result.
-
Odd, seeing as how Brock is married and has a young daughter.
-
And its for that reason that I doubt the WWE would let him completely out of his contract. Personally, I think this NFL idea will go about as well as Hulk Hogan's presidential campaign.
-
Say what you want about his character, but at least he's over with the fans. Personally, Steinbrenner, Trump, the Rockettes and Muhummad Ali (for the WM1 connection) would be good choices.

Okay assuming "Step Up" is the WM XX theme
Slickster replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in The WWE Folder
True, but that's why they're getting such a push right now..the song's lyrics are simple 'let's go kick some ass' fare that, while simple in structure, reach the maximum possible audience, which is necessary for a band that's been out of the spotlight like DP has. -
Woman tries to pass counterfeit $1 million bill

(Kind of an appropriate post from me, don't you think?) -
To me, that's the problem right there. You assumed. If he didn't outright lie about it, I'm not sure if you have a leg to stand on unfortunately. To make it clearer, he said I'd get 'eight PPVs' in 'good viewing condition.'

I bought 8 Halloween Havocs on ebay, thinking that they would be 8 tapes of the PPV broadcast. I got 4 SLP quality tapes of the Turner Home Video versions. I sent the seller an email asking for my $47 back, saying that had I known these facts I wouldn't have bought the tapes. He says he can't pay me back right now and wants to pay me in tapes. I'd like my $ back; I bought the tapes cheap (avg $6 per tape were they all on 1 tape each) so that I could sell them for profit. What should I do?
-
Um, that's NOT the theme. They used it for the matchup screen, but King never said it was the actual theme. Of course, they probably did it this way so they can avoid having to use their song on the DVD, but I digress.
-
Right, if by 'pool,' you meant 'tour bus.' And if by 'drowned,' you meant 'died of a previously unknown heart condition.' Other than that, you're exactly right.
-
Try this one. Windup actually plants those 'beeped' versions online by having their employees host them. Then, more and more people host them - so many that when an unbeeped version becomes available, you'll never find it amid all the fakes. Then, you'll buy the CD to hear the song crystal-clear. I've been told that's partially why Creed's 2002 'Weathered' album did so well on initial relaase.
-
Technically, this ISN'T the WM theme song....nobody said it was. King only said that the song was on the Punisher soundtrack and that's all the graphic said as well. Methinks they wanted a cool song for the matchup screens but didn't want to have a real song used for the WMXX theme.

Backyard Wrestling DVD being released nationwide
Slickster replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
That DVD took over 2 years to put together and I know that many feds involved still haven't gotten tapes back that they gave BYC. Anyway, it's tough to call this a true 'byw' tape when it features vampiro and sandman. Also, having 'criminals' in the DVD's title doesn't win it any points from me either. Now HERE's some good 'backyard wrestling'! -
I hope he gets well soon. I'll always remember how he'd always put over the 'excellent cameramen' whenever they got a cool shot. Also, I can't forget his voiceover on old CV tapes of how to get in touch with CV. Even though that company's long gone, I'll always remember that they were at PO Box 3333, Fairfield, NJ 07007.

I didn't see RAW, but they'd be pretty right in assuming that this RAW meant shit, so what's the point in creating new stuff? The people who are going to get WM already decided that at least a week ago, so why bother coming up with some situation where the talent could get injured?

Hopefully, at a local college. If not there, then I'm sure I'll find the online password somewhere.

Refresh my memory: what was the Powerplex again?

Has anybody said that this was caused by steroids? I can't help but think some people are jumping to conclusions here. At any rate, RIP Raymond Fernandez.
