  1. MikeSC, you've brought forth documents that show Jimmy Carter as an individual who some could argue was a detrimental President. But....how is this definitive proof that the Iraq invasion was justified? This is essentially false advertising.
  2. His character isn't a real vampire; he just works for them. Those are steel fangs.
  3. Now, I wouldn't say that they are 'getting lazy'...just go back and read all the fantastic reviews from people who watched HHH-Benoit (and possibly HBK) at house shows before WM. Those reports seem to indicate that all parties involved busted their asses in making the show better. They're not all doing the fingerpoke of doom just because they aren't on TV. And another thing: They don't say that because it would devalue what you just saw. "Oh, so that wasn't Benoit's last chance at the title (despite being hyped as such for the preceding two hours)? Well, that sucks. They're openly lying to us now." Better to not hype the shows if there won't be any non-storyline matches on them...that way people who can't go to the show won't feel cheated for having watched Raw or SD! in the hopes of seeing finality or definite conclusions to storylines.
  4. That was a potential name for what would become The Smart Marks, actually. And we ALL know who came up with the winning suggestion..... *points to self*
  5. I agree that while back in the day (pre-Internet) you could go 'around the horn' with the same match/finish for a month or two, today's environment (Internet, much more TV, non-jobber matches every week) necessitates a rotation of matches at house shows to make them more special. In essence, a formulaic house show at every town is redundant because you're paying to see essentially the same matches you could see every week on TV.
  6. It had little to do with the day of the week it aired, it had more to do with the fact it was the 2nd WWF pay-per-view event in that 7-day span. I don't know if I agree with "competing" pay-per-views. You're basically splitting the buyrates and forcing people to choose which show they want - making both events less profitable than they would be if they ran unopposed. Well, according to the WWE, 70% of WWE fans only watch one brand. So by those numbers most people wouldn't be choosing between two competing PPVs; they would only purchase their brand's PPV. That's also why the 'Tuesday in Texas' comparison doesn't hold up.
  7. Coming in Mid-May, WWE Classic Superstars Series 2! Ric Flair (w/Big Gold) Mankind (w/WWF World Tag Team Title) George "The Animal" Steele (w/Mine, not pictured) Big John Studd (w/WWF World Tag Team Title) Sergeant Slaughter (w/WWF World Heavyweight Title)
  8. What's the difference between a (non-Mexican) surfboard and an Indian deathlock? I can't seem to picture the difference right now.
  9. Why do you just assume that Bush has ANYTHING to do with it? -=Mike Well, in part at least because of the numerous ties the administration has or has had with the oil industry.
  10. why. The man served his country, risked his life for a cause he now thinks is wrong. I would say that he has more than repaid his country for those college loans and things by fighting in the war. Nope. He has a duty to perform for the repayment of those loans. He did not perform the duty fully. Thus, he has to repay them. -=Mike Althought I'm quite the ardent Democrat, I agree 100% with TheMike here. He made a commitment that (for whatever reason) he can't fulfill; therefore, he should pay up.
  11. This is IMO the most damning criticism of Bush EVER. Imagine the fuel this gives his opponents; instead of making ads suggesting that terrorists love him and his policies, they can report it as a fact! Now, Bush=Terrorism.
  12. Hogan kicked out of the Jackhammer on the 4/5/99 ep of Nitro, but that was only because Nash was late in making the save.

    New DVD's

They own the voices and likenesses of everybody who appeared on their programming....except Jesse Ventura's voice from between approximately 1987 and 1990.
  14. Well, he's entitled to his opinion, whether one agrees with him or not.
  15. Otto: Whoa-ho! A talking dog! [chuckles] What were you guys smokin' when you came up with that? Cohen: We were eating rotisserie chicken.
  16. Odd how he hasn't responded yet...usually he's the first to respond in this forum.
  17. Or, you could honor the bet you were so confident you'd win. That's what you get for trying to 'out-smark' the smarks....even when it was all but guaranteed that Benoit would win, you still bitched and moaned about Satan Vince and Hitler H. I guess the WWE DOESN'T have a personal vendetta against Benoit now, huh?
  18. Nope, it was in the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, CA in front of 19,121 fans. WMXV- 19,514
  19. Syracuse U won't let the WWE hold shows there....they refused to let Raw be held there in '99, Vince sued and the case was thrown out. That's why all Syracuse shows are at the 8-10,000-seat OnCenter.
  20. I didn't even notice Ultimo slipped.
  21. WM15 and 16, at the WWE's apex of popularity, were held in relatively small arenas (PHI and ANA).
  22. is watching it right now... -HHH taps- *one tear* -Eddie comes out, confetti- *cries* EDIT: As I'm drying my tears, let me add myself to the list of people who were inches from the screen screaming for HHH to tap, but my situation's a little different. I'm sitting here at 2am watching the ends of each match on the webcast and FFWD to HHH in the Sharpshooter. I had to settle for screaming silently and pumping my fist so as not to wake my roommate. I'm gonna be FUBAR tomorrow, but you know what? For WMXX, it will be worth it.
  23. muchas gracias por el linko.
  24. How do you get in the chat room?
  25. ...and you people say he has an ego! There's a difference between 'having an ego' and 'confidence.' And the WWE _is_ an American success story; it was founded in the US and was nothing more than a regional NWA promotion in the Northeast until Vince raised it to the top of the business with his own hard work.
