I have to reiterate the fact that I'm geeked out about this griffey trade solely because he is Ken Griffey Jr., one of my childhood heroes. I have no illusions about Griffey's defensive performance, I like the pop he'll bring to the 5 , 6, or 7 spot, and I honestly can't wait to see him in a white sox uniform. It's a mark out moment, kids. The fact that I've grown more and more disillusioned with Paul Konerko adds to the excitement because this gives an opening to have him sit for a while....Konerko/Griffey are a wash defensively, but offensively I have much more faith in Jr.

yep, a bag of balls! The two players I idolized as a youth, Griffey and Thomas have now both been players on my favorite team. This is a good day. Even if he doesn't contribute much... this is a good day. Swisher to first, Griffey platoons at center with Brian Anderson, Paulie sits for a while. Occasionally Griffey DH's You think there's a legit chance Griffey plays center? I didn't think about it too much, but considering how he's struggled in right this year I just don't see him being an option there. I think he is serviceable. I cant see them moving Quentin or Dye, and It seems silly to solely have him sit and exclusively share DH time with Thome
