  1. Stevey is desperate to join to cool kids' group by being banned from the WWE folder.
  2. Cheesala is pretty fucking horrible.
  3. They need to updgrade this board like the other ones in the smark triangle so we have an ignore function available.
  4. All of his information comes from the Observer anyway.
  5. I think I just saw the thread that this rant refers to and Loaded Glove is godawful.
  6. They had a good week and a half to cool down. Flo did spell my brother's name wrong, but what the heck...it's the thought that counts.
  7. See I actually bought his previous book for this reason Basically it's a fine resource for keeping track of what happened, and the timelines of, major feuds within the time frame covered in the book. Problem is...it's a bloody expensive recap of Observer back issues. That and I've grown out of being interested in his recapping.
  8. Flo from Cryptopsy has blessed my drummer's (my brother) drum kit with a several minute drum solo following their recent show in my town (I was hearbroken because I was forced to miss the show), and then he signed the heads of the drums. He also offered up some advice to be passed to us from the house owner where the after party was. Apparently we will be most fulfilled in metal by not signing to a label. Sounds good to me. I also heard that there was video of this drum solo (apparently it was a jazz session) and I should be able to get a hold of a copy soon. I'm such a snivelling fanboy, but I'm taking this as a major sign that it's time to get it all put together and released. I'll have to try to make sure the Flo gets to hear a copy of the demo. Really wish I could have been there to hang with them, then I could also throw that in Agent's face forever. Oh well, I'm done being a little feebling now.
  9. Ildjarn is one guy and a drum machine making the grimest black metal there is. Awesome stuff but sadly he put the ildjarn Black Metal project to rest after his 4 track recorder broke. He won't do that stuff anymore because it would ruin the purity of 'his' sound. tr00
  10. Planning a road trip?
  11. My favourite poster: Red Hot Thumbtack in the Eye Hey, that's all kinds of fun. Thanks!
  12. I did that complaint already.
  13. Shadow's Fall = -2500 points. Go listen to Ildjarn
  14. That is acceptable. And...I actually got involved in WWE folder drama? That doesn't seem like something I'd do. I'm going to have to find this so called taking up.
  15. I saw that you had made another post after mine, and I thought that you were going to placate me and make me feel better about my standing here. I'm really hurt that this didn't happen
  16. Shame, if there was another poster tournament, I get the feeling that i'd not get as hi as a top 3 finish again.
  17. Iann Robinson has just started a column by doing something that he hates. He just wrote a nu metal song similar to the most typical and banal Limp Bizkit rejection ranting. I'm pretty sure that nobody is stupid enough to lump Mastodon and Slayer into the same scene as Bizkit/Saliva etc unless they are connected by the fact that the listener happens to listen to both those types of music. The...."scenes" only get connected via Ozzfest type super festival tours that include billions of bands. Lamb Of God, Shadow's Fall, Cradle Of filth, Mastodon are failed examples here. Cradle Of Filth are certified platinum and Shadow's Fall are being groomed as the next Metallica. They're going to be right there in the future and I have no doubt that they will be charted highly on coming albums. Lamb of God and Mastodon (he's front running HARD for mastodon, ain't he) are at, or are going to be at the point of their bands being their only needed source of income. I'd say for an... 'intelligent' metal band that's a pretty good career. Uhhh...Heavy Metal isn't actually rocket science. Not like Lamb Of God and Shadow's Fall have become a trend or anything... does anyone really care about keeping the "metal horns" anymore? As far as big music feeding "underground" music to the kids...I don't give a shit. The only negative is that they would probably start their own bands and then disgustingly misuse the influence of good metal bands and create a beast that is just as bad as the music Idiot Boy is complaining about here. Iann just comes off jealous of the fact that his unwashed, crusty Obituary shirt wearing ass is never going to be 1/10 as successful as Cold. Now he's in the mode of lashing out to make himself look good somehow by appealing to the lowest common metal fan denominator. If Metal Sludge has a feedback section, I'm sure it will be flooded with "YEAAAH FUCK SALIVA DUDE, CELTIC FROST FOREVER \m/" and " Shadows' Fall rule s man!!!!! \m/ \m/" thus justifying the column and not actually making him actually think of what he's saying. I mean, fuck, the shit he's written about here, I got over when I was 17 years old. Yeah, maybe America is to stupid to get the super intelligent musicality of *snicker* Shadow's Fall and Lamb Of God of Geniuses. That's why everyone loves Europe metal culture. America isn't without metal shows/tours. America isn't without great bands. Instead of writing these columns diverting attention away from proper promotion of these bands, how about you just write a column that has no contrived nU Metal bitching and pissing and whining and a whole ton of good words about unknown groups. Maybe you could throw down the hot tours and advertise unsigned bands. Big music doesn't give a shit about Iann Robinson and Metal Sludge, so why give them this attention that looks like it's written like a numetalpop song? Big music be damned, Heavy Metal is just fine. sales wise it's doing better than ever. People should give a listen to Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk, or A Blaze In The Northern Sky, or Leviathan(I'm frontrunning now I guess), or Pierced From Within, or Serenity In Fire. They'll then see that publicity isn't needed and it's a lot easier to ignore the popular music business.
  18. I quite adore the darkness and brooding of this cover, however I can't say I really like the song a lot. It just kind goes verse chorus verse with no build towards the end or even any kind of added emphasis to the final chorus or anything. From a purely musical sense(ignoring the timing and political usage of the cover in this case), I'd say this is a decent tribute, but nothing that anyone *should* remember in a couple years.
  19. Motherfucker just ain't letting that go, is he? Also, who else did he do?
  20. If the audience will so indulge me, I'd like to make a cross thread cross post and pop my mikey is fat cherry. http://myhighhorse.com/index2.html News feeds have it that Moore has hired this man to cater his tour of high schools throughout the midwest in the coming weeks and months. And still....I feel so empty inside. Was that good at least? Anyway, to my original thoughts for this thread. I've always preferred Jello Biafra for my American political talk. He raises his topic, presents his opinion, sites his sources and then moves on to the next thing. Just straight up discussion without the media whoring. There, I think I'm done now. See ya later.
  21. RWC, this would have been better if all those fat jokes were spread over a span of 3 or 4 posts. Doing it like this just reeks of seeking anti Moore acceptance through the usual tactics.
  22. But in a pure sense, he isn't/wasn't. It just so happened that he had freakish attributes that made up for it. I'm not sure it can be debated that he should have been strongly tested more often in his career in order to round out the package.
  23. http://boxingtalk.net/pages/free666.htm?PH...4acd62c3b3e6879 Personally, I loved watching Roy Jones. The cat was retardedly charismatic and was a great showman in the ring. A lot of purists talk about him being a total scrub, but that can't be true or else he wouldn't be so physically impressive, even again "B" level opponents. I'm not an expert and I'm hardly a purist, so Roy was a perfect ambassador to get me into boxing. From there I can watch and appreciates the hopkins' of the world that are legit p4p fighters. The man is great for boxing, he's made his money, he's had his fame. Time to go and rebuild your chicken ranch to train the cock fighters.
