here's the hierarchy: Director--->managers----area leads----->area assistants---->production. I started as an area assistant and did that for close to two years...my manager was being moved to another area and he recommended me to the Director as his replacement and I got the job based off of my time put in with the company as well as my past experience as a supervisor from my previous job. we do not use voice activated gear here...we thought about it, but there's too much power equipment traffic around where we'd use it that we figured it would cause too much interference...we use scanners and RF watches for picking.

I agree with your post AoO as I have very little college time and have pretty much been working since straight out of High School (I've only had two jobs in 12 years, the first one I left voluntarily)...the only setback is that most times you'll have to start off at a lower level and work your way back up should you switch jobs somewhere down the road without a degree to back you up. yeah, I manage about 80 or so people for a distribution center of a department store.

i DVRed it but ended up watching more of this than I did Raw or MNF...this show is great so far, I can't wait for more episodes. I'm a sucker for "real life hero" stories....Unbreakable was a movie that got crapped on, but I loved it. Nathan's flying abilities didn't really surprise me, I read about it on Wikipedia prior to watching the show, but it was still a cool ass moment. I was waiting for it to happen the entire episode. I'm with everyone else about Hiro...what a nifty power to have and he just loves it. Cheerleader girl's fingers...yeah sick. I'm not really digging Ali Larter...not so much because of her or her character, but because she seems like she's going to be a focal point of the series and I just don't find her interesting enough. Overall, I dug the show, thumbs up from me.

that's pretty much my take on it...being a production manager, I hire my people and it's the little things like that that go a long way with me...pretentious? Perhaps...but if you're too lazy to get off your ass and job hunt, what good are you to me?
