  1. Oh, and the giant flag in the background is Czech. Got that one, but it's probably negated by my confusing of George Clooney and David Hasselhoff.
  2. Clockwise from top left: 909, Thing that looks like both a hamster and a cock (?), Ghostbusters (?), Malk(?), VitaminX, Hasselhoff(Zack Malibu?), Slayer, Cobain(CWM), Stomach/intestines (?). Double you tee eff?
  3. ^ Is there another Brian here besides me? As I previously mentioned, I wouldn't know where to begin with hot dog or sausage.........Marvin would know though. He's my cookery and HDTV source.
  4. I've probably mentioned this before, but I feel somehow guilty about being Irish and disliking cabbage and corn beef.
  5. Really? Though I enjoy both Skor and Good & Plenty, I've heard of people disliking them. I've never heard of a person disliking all jellybean flavours, and both red and black licorice.
  6. I was looking at Mellanby for a while as my last forward. I had yet another guy I hate pegged as my final defenceman (specifically on the heels of Manson being taken), but my karaoke efforts of Saturday night trumped him. I'll call in the Griffey rule for my pick, but he gives me what my snubee has to offer, minus a resume chock full of knee-on-knees. He disappeared that summer, in 1951. He was on a fishing trip, in a plane. The last goal he ever scored, in overtime, won the Leafs the cup. They didn't win another, until 1962, the year he was discovered. I don't like that I have a pair of Leafs as my sixth line, but character, grit, and toughness; it's not all bad.
  7. Agreed! First prize! Oh, and somehow, I'll find a way to work in the "but this is a contest for children!" line into this thread.
  8. Good picks. Broda was going to be my goalie before I picked Luongo.
  9. 100% agree. I spent most of a summer trying to beat that thing, with a shitty wireless controller that barely worked, no less. Wireless controller technology wasn't perfected until the wavebird controller for Gamecube, so imagine how GOD AWFUL it would have been way back on the NES. No, I don't know why I continued to use it. I think I just liked the novelty of a wireless controller. But yeah Bad News Baseball rocked, and eventually I kicked its ass. What team were you? I was always L.A. Always swapped Rocky for Caesar. Atlanta. I don't remember much about what players I used, except I think I tried to use Andy a lot because he had double digit homeruns! Couldn't name a single player other than those two. Damned if I know why.

  11. You got it. Racing, but with spaceships. Each planet became tougher.
  12. I had six players on my forwards depth chart for this round (as mentioned, my defencemen isn't going to be picked, so he can wait): Bill Barber, Alex Kovalev, Ryan Smyth, Esa Tikanen, Trevor Linden. You sons of bitches. Still, I'm happy with my selection, and a little surprised he wasn't going to be a Max or Nskie Diamond-in-the-Rough. Peter McNab.
  13. What's the story on the backstage fight between the Bulldogs and the Rougeaus? Shoot interviews and whatnot on Youtube seem to conflict, but the gist of what I've seen is that Dynamite Kid suckerpunched Jacques with a roll of quarters in his fist..........Can anyone shed some light?
  14. Just because it was easy doesn't mean I have to like it. The head on the baby was admittedly funny.
  15. With my comment to Marvin's gulag musing about his NES games, I present to you my 'obscenely fun NES games that no one in the world but I played.' Toobin, Galaxy 5000, Kid Niki. Bad News Baseball kicked ass, by the way.
  16. I hate absolutely everything about that post. The Holiday Inn commercials are off YouTube, he was my pick this round, and I don't even wanna think about how much work you had to do to find that picture.
  17. Madd props, man. I've been lookin' for this match for a minute too. A minute? Did I grossly overlook something here?
  18. Finally! I'd been looking for this for a while. Benoit-Austin, ten Germans.
  19. I couldn't even take a guess on how to make a hotdog from scratch. But yeah, there's a tonne of variety with burgers, especially your own.
  20. The follow-up post will invariably be related to my lack of posting in CE, but I don't have a problem with Marvin.
  21. I'm with you on the first paragraph. The general public are either stupid or indifferent to anything but what they want, if not a combination of both. But I think anyone in retail with me has sung that song before here. You're on your own for the second. I don't handle fresh food in retail, but I did used to be a bread guy. When I was in grocery stores merchandising, I would often have customers specifically ask me which the freshest were, and go ahead and take that one. I was more than fine with that; why is there anything wrong with that?
  22. Head to head: Burgers. Not even close. I can not eat a hot dog now if it's not a Schneider's Juicy Jumbo, from a street vendor, or at a ballgame. But if we're talkin summer holiday meal on the deck, shish kebabs and corn on the cob, baby.
  23. Good picks. Nolan was one of three missing parts of a curious stat I noticed; I won't mention it as it's pretty well name-dropping, at least not for now. I doubt the other two will be taken; maybe one of them.
