Wasn't NY Post writer Phil Mushnick actually responsible for the name?
-
I'm in - sounds great.

Agreed in principle, but a two-month layoff, especially with the U.S. Open being his first event back, is a formidable task. Additionally, I'm still not convinced he's not rushing his comeback for a major. Having said that, if anyone can do it, it's Tiger. I maintain my "Tiger #1, Phil #1A" position.
-
Thus, my shame.

Tough luck, Baron. JJ, you're in. Rather than throw you to the lions after 2.5 rounds, you're now the GM of the Scuba Squad.
-
To answer my own question (and the batting around of it over a period of four-and-a-half days), Tiger still has to be the favourite, but I think we can call Phil 1A. He's now one of 11 players with multiple wins at Colonial. Only Ben Hogan won more than two (an impressive five).

I like Default.

Two things that I can't believe weren't brought up with the selection of Glenn Hall. One is a record that will never be broken. The other is a record that hopefully never will. Glenn Hall started 504 straight games. He threw up before each one.

Yeah, that makes sense. Thanks.

I thought the push-up kid kiiiiind of looked like him. I've never actually seen the kid kiss Dibiase's feet, just a bit of it from a Survivor Series package. Thanks.

It's been raining, pretty well non-stop, since Tuesday or Wednesday. My lawn needs it, so I won't complain. I'm disappointed, however, in the wind and cold that came with it.

I farted UNBELIEVABLY loudly on the patio of a Dairy Queen in the summer of 1999. The patio was crowded, and everyone heard it. They all enjoyed it, save the popped-collar douche, who was there with his girlfriend. He said "how rude" in a manner notably reminiscent of Stephanie Tanner, and took his girlfriend by the wrist and left. It reminded me of the scene in Caddyshack where the doctor takes that girl home, but sits in a pile of puke, ruining the evening. It was just a coincidence, but I didn't return until this past summer, seven years later.

I'm gonna beat Carnival to this: Gotta get some Faygo.

Four comments about this discussion that have absolutely nothing to do with Three Doors Down or Staind. 1) That is a good camera. Doesn't matter. Clearance, shmearance. It boggles my mind that Three Doors Down could be more expensive than a camera, even though you made a valid case, Marvin. 2) I don't remember Jason Biggs fucking a pie in the second. I forgot all about him supergl....his hand to his dick, so take my pie amnesia with a grain of salt. 2a) Someone finish spelling the word in the middle of point two. Neither gluing nor glueing looks right, even with the addition of 'super'. 3) Be Like That? That, too, doesn't ring a bell. Tonic's 'You Wanted More' was the perfect 'Band going nowhere, but here's a song for a teen flick' addition. 4) I think the phrase 'breakfast cereal(s)' is redundant.

I vaguely recall hearing that Rob Van Dam was, as a kid, involved in a Million Dollar Man promo. Truth to that?

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft
CanadianGuitarist replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Draft Faggotry
As an observer to this, and oversee-er of the NHL draft, I like the idea of comparing supercards. A fantasy tournament will occur in the NHL draft, with the idea of a roster being crowned 'the best'. I think it'd be really cool to see ten line-ups in front of me, with the idea of only being able to see one. A thread 'winner' if you will. -
I'm the ice cream man. I'm a one man band.
CanadianGuitarist replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Food Folder
How could anyone still be an ice cream man? Connotations of pedophilia, and I'd have to assume constant robbery - come on. Worst of all, bow ties in the summer? This notwithstanding, I wouldn't hesitate to go pick up a rocket-sicle if the truck came by. Since this is CTDWAT, what the fuck is the actual name of Rocketsicles? Rocket Pops? That doesn't sound right. And finally, one of my favourite Simpsons gags ever was "Native American Ice Cream...formerly Big Chief Crazy Cone." -
What's the deal with the audio adaptor that comes with the Xbox HDMI cable? Why would it be needed? My buddies that I'm staying with have an Elite but a standard def TV. They gave me the HDMI cable for when I head back home in a few months - will I need this adaptor? HDMI does audio and video, so I'm perplexed.

You're up, Scuba. Also, name your teams, people. We currently have The Northern Lights Five, and the Canadian Guitarists.

Can I use my draft pick now? First, why was Angle is God skipped? Edit: Oh. my fault. Well, clearly others missed it as well. Sorry, Angle. Due to the overall fuckuppery, here's the new draft order to finish the third round: Max, Angle, EMHE. To start the fourth round: Angle, Max. After that, we'll screw up less, and we'll continue.
-
Time's up, EMHE. Pity pick at the end of the second round, a la Baron's pick of Toe Blake. I'm gonna go outside the box again. My pick for the most underrated player ever is still notably unselected, but I'm gonna go with the second active forward in the draft. My third pick is the first Russian to win the Hart, part of arguably hockey's best line ever (1989 Juniors), a three-time Cup winner. One of the most exciting players in the history of the game. Perhaps his greatest achievement of all? Railing Anna Kournikova. My pick is: Sergei Fedorov. TakerHart, the floor is yours.

This one I'm right on. Tiger's skipping the Memorial, but will be back for Torrey Pines. Who's the favourite? Especially keeping in mind Phil has the lead at Colonial, and a decent record at Torrey, including a win over Tiger in 2000. I know that contradicts everything I said two days ago, but there was a period where I really really wanted Greg Norman to win a Green Jacket.

The Things That Anger You Thread.
CanadianGuitarist replied to Man Who Sold The World's topic in General Chat
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. But yeah, I'm guilty as well. Mostly guilty of it during my area code, 905, but that's because Niagara switched to ten-digit dialing a few years ago, and EVERYBODY says 'nine-oh-five'. -
Also, 12 forwards were acceptable, as opposed to 4/4/4.
-
So much of a beast, in fact, that he was drafted four picks ago by Gert. Try again.
