  1. Not really a line, but Mr. Socko.
  2. Texas Toast is so much better; it's the HDTV of grains - how can one go back?
  3. Just imagine the benefits of me reading two posts up.
  4. The fuck if I'm searching for it on YouTube, but: Popular by Nada Surf. Popular by Nada Surf. Popular by Nada Surf. Popular by Nada Surf. FTW. With the possible exception of Crash Test Dummies, I think everything applicable that I could offer has been mentioned. Incidentally, my drunken karaoke voice is allegedly similar to Brad Roberts'.
  5. The fuck? Did I insert everyone's pick at the beginning? I remember meaning to do so, but don't remember actually doing so. Baron, you're up.
  6. Treble, who's just returned from Jamaica to play for you?
  7. Dammit, I was hoping both the Rocket and Dryden could be my sleeper picks. I was probably being greedy.
  8. Unfairly, I'll remember Cheli mostly for owning a bar in which a fired dishwasher killed his manager. Fairly, I'll remember Cheli for threatening Bettman's family. Also, Chelios-Savard is probably the fairest trade in the history of sport.
  9. Gert - it's all you, before 1 am Sunday morning.
  10. I especially like it with Bettman cropped out.
  11. I'm really drunk, so I don't know who picked whom at this point - especially if the pickers didn't either. Nskie sent me his picks, so continue on. I also have no problem making Max #16 if he wants to sneak his way in. Edit: I guess Max is picking for Nskie. I dunno now.
  12. That really is hard to believe isn't it? I remember saying in grade ten (! - 1999) that 1-2-3 all-time were Gretz, Orr, Howe. But 4-5? Didn't see that coming.
  13. One of my favourite one-liners ever came as a result of Andre - from SNME, when Duggan and Andre were feuding. Vince: "You're defending Andre's interference on behalf of Dibiase?" Ventura: "Sure! Would you want Jim Duggan as world champion? I certainly wouldn't!"
  14. I thought he was only 51. Wow, that's even tougher to imagine, isn't it? But yeah, 150 isn't even two full seasons, both of which he'll contend for a Cup in - that's more than likely.
  15. Agreed. Pre-rank five guys for me, and pm 'em to me. I'll pick from that list for you if you can't get online; thanks for the heads-up, I'm sure you can get some kind of amnesty if need be, having given me some notice. Then again, it may not be an issue at all - there's still four draftors in front of you. TakerHart, who ya got? Oh yeah, excellent pic of Howe, Angle.
  16. And no, even I wouldn't put Bret above Andre.
  17. Anika is retiring at the end of this year, ready to start a family. She's only 16 wins from tying Kathy Whitworth's all-time record of 88; I thought she'd stick around for that. Still, she probably did as much for women's golf as Tiger did for golf in general; There was a span of about 18 months in which you could watch, in six hours on Sunday, the two most dominant athletes of all time in any sport, at their peak.
  18. 2010 doesn't seem like a stretch, really. Four-and-a-half years though? Markus Naslund was the league's best player 4.5 years ago - how long ago does that seem? Speaking of 2010 - has any official yeay or nay been given to NHL'ers at 2014?
  19. Five favourite promos: 1) Bret's official heel turn on American fans 2) Heyman's worked shoot 3) Foley's "Cane Dewey" 4) Vince convincing Foley to fight Terry Funk on Raw, sometime in May 98 5) Michaels in Montreal before SS '05
  20. I don't have a rebuttal list, but: a) I think WM14 made Austin more than 13, as least as far as influence. b) I don't know the story on #2. I'm not HTQ as far as wrestling knowledge or anything, but if it's so important and/or influential, shouldn't I know the story off-hand? I could see Sheik-Hogan from MSG in 84, and that's a stretch, as your list is missing: c) No Hulk-Andre?
  21. What's he at? 100 or so games for that record, 4.5 years for the age record? It's tough to imagine him playing another five years (even for him), but shit, if anyone can pull it off, it's him. Or maybe the other guy in my last post, Gary Roberts.
  22. I'm going to go against the grain and start off between the pipes: I don't like him personally, but he's, in my opinion, the best goalie of all time. Even though I've cooled off on 'wins' as a stat, 534 is still nearly 18 years of 30-win seasons (and he played in an era with ties). Add that to three Conn Smythes - no one ever came to play like St. Patrick. Angle, the floor is yours.
  23. One day at work, someone put up signs for the Safety "Comitee". Before the day was out, someone had stuck up a piece of paper pointing out this typo. There was something else spelled wrong, but I can't remember exactly what...it was a work like, thinking, but they had written "thinnking", and the person who stuck up the paper also wrote "thinking has ONE n, not two". I simply could not resist the temptation to highlight both N's in the word, and add "Good job." By another day or two, they had removed all the signs, and replaced them with ones that had committee spelled properly. Before that week was out, someone actually CROSSED OUT one of the m's and one of the t's in committee every time it was used. I was flabbergasted. There's also a bunch of boxes labeled "Distroy". I don't understand why a company like Wal-Mart can't afford a few dictionaries. Now that I'm back at Wal*Mart, I'm going to agree with you. (I would have agreed anyway, but I'd forgotten a bit): There's a file cabinet by a Wal*Mart house brand that says 'cabient' - this is presumably so in every store in the country. Also, they're spelled 'clearance' and 'safety'. I hate it when people mispronounce 'vice-versa' as 'vica-versa'.
  24. It's a sad day for humankind if anything even remotely involved with Three Doors Down costs more than a good digital camera. I don't hate Three Doors Down, but 60? I paid 45 for Rush a few years ago. 45 FOR RUSH! Are they 25% lesser a band than TDD? I certainly don't think so.
  25. Here's an interesting stat: Gary Roberts will claim the record for most years between Cups if Pittsburgh winds up winning this year. His stretch would be 19 ('89 in Calgary). The man he'd take the record can prevent Roberts from doing so: Chris Chelios, who went 16 years between Montreal's '86 win and '02 with the Wings.
