The funny thing about that is Warrior did ask for more money from Vince, but it was a couple of months before Summerslam. Vince just re-wrote history to where it became just before the PPV.

TNA stopped using Page because he kicked up a fuss over putting Monty Brown clean. It was Brown and Kip James against Page and Ron Killings, and Brown was meant to beat Page clean. Page refused and started complaining about it, and the only way he would agree to lose to Brown was if he could hit the Diamond Cutter on James and Brown before losing. A compromise was reached where Page would hit his move on James and Phi Delta Slam before getting hit with The Pounce and pinned by Brown. The funny thing is that PDS were let go the month before when Dusty Rhodes was removed as head booker, because Dusty was the one who wanted them in, so they had to bring PDS back for one night just so Page could hit them with his move.

It's good the surgery went well. TNA should use this special to focus on only a few people, their best talent, and make sure people remember them. But you know the show will be another rush job from Russo with nothing given time to get over with anybody new tuning in. A lot of TNA's PPV's look good on paper, but since October they've never matched that potential.

What the hell did they expect? Did no one check on the format Russo uses? The wrestling business is so fabulously inept, I love it. Russo will deal with this critcism the same way he usually does; he'll ignore it, refuse to admit his mistakes, and keep writing two-hours of material for a one-hour show. And it's not like TNA are going to remove him from power any time soon. They'll claim they have to give Russo time, but they also don't want to remove him too soon because doing so makes them look like fools for bringing Russo back in the first place. If there is continued negativity about how Impact is written, and there will be because Russo isn't going to change, then TNA will either have to man up and remove him from power or deal with having a very unhappy roster and a TV show that can't get anything over because nothing is given any time.

Rick Steiner In his prime, a good worker who could be part of great matches with an opponent who didn't mind taking a pounding. In his later years, he became very bitter and angry and very much a bully. Edge Has developed into a very well-rounded worker who has shown himself to be a great heel. Managed to turn Cena back into a mostly cheered babyface, which seemed impossible just 18 months ago. Despite being a piece of shit to his 'best friend', which is probably an indication of why he's such a great heel, I'd still plug him into the spot of being the long-term top heel on Raw. John Cena Has turned into a capable worker who can be carried to good to great matches by the right opponent. He can't really carry someone unless he's simply bouncing around for the majority of the match. When talking, he has excellent delivery, but he's let down by some terrible material. Jericho2000Mark I've seen worse.

With what happened to Hunter, and with Undertaker probably not ready to retire, I would not be surprised to see them put Michaels over in the Rumble and then dedicate his title match to Hunter. Michaels can win the title for a feel-good ending to WM XXIII, and you might even have Hunter show up to congratulate him. Then, assuming Hunter is ready to return to action at Summerslam, you can have them redo the Shawn turn on Hogan with Shawn turning on Hunter, with the idea that Hunter is his protege and Shawn wants to see if he can beat Hunter one more time. Hunter makes his big return against Shawn as a super babyface, wins the title for the second feel-good PPV ending of the year, and Shawn can turn back babyface by shaking Hunter's hand the same way he did with Hogan and admitting that Hunter is the better man.

The two best were the History of the WWF video and the highlight video for Austin vs. Rock at WM X7.

Shawn went for an elbow off the top rope but Vader was out of position or something because Shawn stopped short and landed on his feet and then began stomping on Vader and yelling at him. It looked weird and you could see something was going on. It wasn't the first time Shawn lost his cool that year on PPV, because he was quite notorious for it during that time.

He can bitch and moan like crazy if he feels like it. He was very upset about having to lose to Ric Flair at the Bash in 1995, even though Flair was using a cane to KO Savage. He was fine when it was going to be through interference, but when it was changed to Flair winning through use of the cane, Savage threw a fit. Most wrestlers of that 80's WWE era, when they went elsewhere, usually had a major problem when it came to doing jobs on TV. Jacques Rougeau walked out of WCW in 2000 over his refusal to do a job on TV. Honkytonk Man is notorious for walking out of WCW the afternoon of Starrcade in 1994 because he refused to do a job on TV, which in his mind was the same as PPV. I forget his reasoning exactly, but he was always up front about not wanting to lose on TV.

I don't know why Shawn wanted Sid, but with how Shawn was back then I could see it being down to him still mad over what happened with Vader in their match at Summerslam.

What exactly is a 'smark', in your eyes, and are you one? I'm not trying to start anything, but I've noticed lately the term 'smark' getting thrown around a lot when people want to deride the opinion of others, for whatever reason, without really explaining why they're to be mocked for holding the opinion they do. And just to add news to this thread, some bits from the latest F4W: Monday's Raw was considered "an utter disaster and embarrassment" internally. Vince was irate after the Giant Khali interview segment. It apparently had something to do with how it was shot. Whatever it was, he was livid.

Shawn was always going to win that one. Shawn was meant to lose the WWF Title to Vader at Survivor Series of that year to build to Shawn regaining it in his hometown, but Shawn politicked to get Sid put in the spot instead.

What a way to waste Punk's first official singles job. They could have at least given the first win over Punk to someone with an upside.
