  1. All 5,000 tickets for the 10/10 live special with Ortiz vs. Shamrock sold out in an hour, making it the fastest sellout in UFC history. The numbers for UFC 62 were 9,589 paid and $3.07 million, which includes closed-circuit sites. From the latest Observers.
  2. You mean like you did? People know that this stuff comes from the Observer. I'm the one who types it up to post here, so I just think the people copying it to post elsewhere should note they got it from this forum. They don't have to stay who posted it, just where they got it from.
  3. Orlando Jones was in line to be used as a gay character and I think they even were going that way before he got cut. He was going to be bisexual, not gay.
  4. One of the latest Observer's says this was actually real.
  5. Could the people copying and pasting this to other forums credit where they got it from.
  6. Eric would only have accepted the deal if he had no other choice. The slot would have been unlike to have aired in Chicago, at least in prime time, and that was/is WGN's best city. There are two versions of WGN; the Chicago version, which airs WB stuff in prime time, and the version everyone else gets that, at the time, was available in about 73% of the cable homes and 57% of the total homes, but with low viewership. If TNA had signed the deal the earliest it could have gone on in Chicago was 11pm, if at all. Not only that, but WGN had limited exposure in New York. Someone clarify the Sid Vicious squeegee story for me. Roddy Piper's description in his autobio doesn't seem to be particularly accurate. Sid was in a bar with Brian Pillman and Mike Graham. An argument ensued and Sid backed off and walked out of the bar, only to return armed with a squeegee. This did not do wonders for his rep.
  7. When Vince gets tired of using WWE as his personal playground.
  8. Shame that it isn't getting blown off.
  9. Neither do I. But I do have faith in the ego of Undertaker being big enough that he won't give the streak up unless it's to someone who really does have the potential to be a superstar, which is why if it does happen it'll probably be to someone worth it.
  10. I was thinking more in terms of 'smart' fans viewing him as a HoF wrestler. He's already in the WON HoF.
  11. The streak is important enough that you know that, if only for this one thing, a LOT of thought will go into possibly ending it. It's about the one thing they won't waste on someone who really is a lame duck and has no potential.
  12. If nobody with the right potential come along, then the streak probably should stay intact. But if there is someone who comes along who would be something big, then there is no good reason not to give that guy the huge rub of ending the streak and making them a sensation overnight.
  13. Except to elevate a breakout superstar into the top level, but that would be good for business and we can't have business taking precedence over a ‘sacred’ winning streak. I'd bet that Undertaker giving up his streak to make someone a superstar in one night would do more for his HoF potential than holding onto it.
  14. WCW going out of business is depressing to think about. So much that could have been done, should have done, and so much potential for the future of this business and it all got pissed away because of a few insecure, middle-aged/old-aged men either desperately clinging onto their fading spotlight or a grabbing a spotlight they never had any business in having.
  15. What makes this so great is that Balls just failed the drug test.
  16. I believe it's his sixth or seventh stint with the company.
  17. He didn't attempt to get Jericho over, though. Hall did what he did to get a pop and fool people into thinking he did something that he didn't. It worked on both counts.
  18. If someone suitable comes along, and it's handled right, the streak should end. It's called doing what's right for business.
  19. All of Warrior's good matches were down to the other guy working his ass off and, in the case of the Hogan match, going through the match move-for-move for two months prior. Those matches might have been better than Goldberg's best matches, but Goldberg at least was an active part of his good matches and worked hard.
  20. You need to go to http://noah.puroresufan.com/ and check out the reaction to the GHC Title match.
  21. I think they've mixed up Milano Collection A.T with Milanito Collection A.T, who is a smaller version of Milano.
  22. Goldberg was so much better than Warrior. Goldberg is very underrated as a worker.
  23. Hall gets way too much credit for that one. People think he did this great thing for Jericho, when all he did was a Kevin Nash special.
  24. Exactly. They took everything that made Goldberg get over and took it away, purely to prove that Goldberg wasn't all that good. Whether Goldberg was a good worker or not doesn't matter, because he got over huge before falling victim to politics.
