  1. His ringwork might not be the best, but, and you wouldn't know it lately from how he's been booked, he is a great talker. When a guy is great at something, you really should find a place for him on your roster. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What is amusing is the fact they always seemingly applauded those with skills to talk and yet in some cases those who can; They won't let them (Maven and Morgan for instance) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Chris Candido said it best when he said that WWE are the kind of people who will take the world's best plumber and make him an electrician.

  3. No doubt we'll soon be told how that did nothing to harm Jericho.
  4. Thanks for making my point. The entire feud has been about Lita, and only Lita. The entire point is Kane vs Lita. Edge just happens to be the guy that she left Kane for. They don't focus on the Kane/Edge factor, they haven't really dont that at all other than the actual in-ring work. It's been all about Kane/Lita, it's been a Kane/Lita feud from the start, and Edge just happened to be in the middle of it to get squashed...jobbing clean in the end. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which kind of makes it hard to take him seriously as WWE Title contender.
  5. And I could argue that, especially after the PPV where Edge lost clean, that it's been mainly about Kane/Lita and NOT Kane/Edge. I don't remember Kane cornering Edge in the back saying he was going to cut off HIS breathing, or whatever the hell Kane said. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And I said it was a blowoff finish. Not that it was the blowoff their feud. Which it isn't. Which only makes the finish even more stupid.
  6. You mean before doing the clean job on his way out of the promotion as fodder for the guy they were pushing to the moon as their champion? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If he was fodder, why elevate him back up to face the champ? He could have faced a top-level guy who wasn't the champ, a la Vader-Razor the month before. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If it was anyone else, then that would have been more likely to happen. But remember we're talking about The Clique. And speaking of Vader-Razor, if it was a non-Clique person on his way out, he'd have been squashed. For a guy on his way to the opposition, Razor lasted a while and looked very competitive
  7. Well, I know I feel humbled after that. I want to thank you for showing me the error of my ways. Losing the big blowoff clean takes a lot of steam off people. Yes, they can be built up again, but that takes time, and, to make the most money, which is the point of wrestling in case it's escaped you, it usually isn't a good idea to beat the guy clean who is going to headline the next major PPV in a world title match. If Edge isn't headlining Summerslam, then what happened at Vengeance wouldn't have been that bad. But, if Edge is headlining Summerslam, then he should not have done the clean pinfall job. Let Kane get his no-heat back in some other way.

  9. Beating Jimmy Snuka clean on the last PPV before Summerslam Getting pushed to the moon to get him ready. He wasn't even going to get the title until the week of the show,
  10. Which wasn't clean. Not that it makes the idea any less stupid.
  11. Rock didn't do a clean pinfall job and then go right into a WWE Title program on very next PPV, the second biggest of the year. He was pushed back up the ladder for a few months before being put into the World Title match. There is a difference. And while it might not be implausible, in WWE land, for a guy to lose a blow off match and then go into a World title program, it doesn't exactly do wonders for the drawing power of said program.
  12. At Vengeance. Kane fought off Edge, Snitsky and Lita, Edge speared Snitsky by mistake, and Kane chokeslammed him for the clean pin. A blowoff finish.
  13. Not to mention that the finish to Edge v Kane at the PPV was a total blowoff finish with Edge getting beaten clean, even with Snitsky trying to help him. If Edge v Cena is the plan for Summerslam, then Edge should have beaten Kane.
  14. I don't have the numbers at hand, and I'll find them if I have to, but Brock was one of the company's better draws when he was there, and for non-gimmicked PPV's, he outdrew everyone else in either 2002 or 2003. Scratch the last part. I was thinking of Goldberg, who happens to also get hated for mostly irrational reasons.
  15. Yes, it is another supershow. They're then off for a whole week.
  16. Blue Meanie v JBL will be taking place Credit - WO.com
  17. If you don't know what you're talking about, then do everyone a favor and don't post.
  18. So, Shawn beating Orton clean only for Flair to cheat to get the match restarted and then Orton having to cheat to get the win was Orton getting put over?
  19. Once again, someone confuses putting someone over with doing a job.
  20. Which is why I thought a Benoit/JBL feud for the US Title was a good idea. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not until the belt has been elevated. Two top SD names fighting over a cold belt that has no value just brings down the names.
  21. Now that's just crazy talk. You think? The US belt is 100% worthless since OJ got it. What reasons have we had to care about the belt? Or Jordan? Nothing has happened that has made people care if OJ has the belt or not. Maybe because we're right, and know what we're talking about? Belts can be elevated. The US Title, however, is unlikely to be one of them, simply because WWE seems to have long since given up on elevating both it and the IC Title. They've not been given any real meaning and we've been given no reason to care for them. Again with the crazy talk. Someone get this man his Lithium. Maybe, but it can do considerable damage. How? Beyond a quick mention from time to time by Michael Cole, they've done nothing since bringing the belt back to remotely tie it into the WCW or NWA version of the belt. They've done nothing to get over how big the US belt used to be. No video packages or anything. Nothing. You'd be in the minority, considering they've done absolutely nothing to make it mean anything in months.
  22. You aren't. Other people have said this on more than one occasion, which you would know if you actually paid attention. It is a good idea, in theory. But it will be unlikely to happen because secondary belts get treated as such, and end up meaning almost nothing. Do you have any clue what you're talking about?
  23. Holding a title for a long time makes it seem like a big deal (or, at least like it SHOULD BE a big deal) when it finally changes hands. It actually bothered me when Benjamin lost the belt after such a lengthy reign. Orton had quite a memorable feud with Foley, although I'll admit the IC belt didn't play that big of a part in it. Everyone's completely ignoring my RVD/Hardcore Title example. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is the theory, yes. It doesn't always work out that way, and so is by no means a sure thing. Almost nothing Orton did involved the IC belt. He had no big feuds or programs over it. Both of his PPV title defences were one-month deals, and were pretty much ignored once the match in question was done with, so that didn't do a thing for the belt. Yes, a wrestler getting a belt can elevate the belt in question, but comparing the Hardcore belt then, when it had merit and meaning, to the US Title now, which has neither, was not the best way to go.
  24. Except when a belt has so little meaning that by proxy anyone associated with it is seen as meaningless. The US belt has zero value and merit, so why should anyone go after it, especially someone who was just in a SD main event meant to determine the new SD Champion? The Hardcore belt had some cult value to it. The US Title has no value to it. He is still in that upper tier, and as such, should not be anywhere near a belt that has zero value. Back then, though, the belt had some value. Not much, but some. Now, it has zero value. It's on a guy that nobody gives a damn about because they've been given no reason to give a damn about him, or the belt.
  25. The only reason the US Title is in bad shape is they put it on Orlando Jordan. Once its off of him, problem solved. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Putting a belt that means nothing on someone who is in or around the main event will do nothing but drag that guy down. Taking the belt off of Orlando won't suddenly make the US belt mean anything. It will still be the same US belt that means nothing, just around the waist of someone else. Again, it would just drag Benoit down. The US belt is so meaningless that anyone above midcard who touches it will get dragged down.
