  1. That is the same basic formula for competitive tag matches; the babyfaces shine for a while, the heels get the heat, the babyfaces make their comeback, and they go to the finish. There are little things here and there that can be done to mix things up which is a must especially when, like in WWE, you have the same few times fighting each other. The reason it works, which it usually does, is that it’s a story that the people can very easily buy into; the good guy gets cheated by the bad guy but doesn’t give up and fights back to win, or not. The changes to the basic formula usually come into play with gimmick matches, which is when spots should be worked in that get over the gimmick and the storyline that led to that gimmick match being set up.
  2. The Ignore feature is a great addition to the board.
  3. Batista is on a roll right now, so why screw that up with a short term title change?
  4. Whatever. If anything, that arguement is 'weak'. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Does anyone else see the irony here?
  5. That would mean I'd have to read what Porter replied with, and I've put her/him on ignore because I'm allergic to drivel. But don't let that put you off of reading my Blog, because it's still going to be full of sweet Mock.
  6. Yeah I sure made it up. This is basically saying he, in your opinion, can't do it anymore. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never stated that he couldn't do it anymore; just that he couldn't do it in April, and I don't think the situation had changed. I don't know how you read that to mean I was saying he couldn't do the legdrop anymore at all, but maybe further study of grammar will help with this problem you seem to have.
  7. I said he couldn't do the legdrop in April. He couldn't then, because he didn't do it. If he could have done it, he would have. As for doing it again this time around, I said I didn't think he could do it. Never actually said he couldn't do it this time around. But feel free to continue to make up statements and attribute them to me.
  8. According to Meltzer, JBL was put over huge in the six-way, as he got to kick out of everyone's big moves, so it looks like Batista v JBL is SD's next major match/program.
  9. It was nice of that old guy Cena to let those two young lions in Shawn and Hogan to have the spotlight. Way to push the younger talent.
  10. Because they can't provide anything intelligent. When it comes to putting it down in their respective newsletters, there is a space issue to consider, but I admit it would be nice to see in-depth analysing from either man. You'd love most of the posters in the WWE Folder. I agree to a point. Analysis is good, but I hate reading overly long analysis. When it takes longer to read the analysis of a match than the match itself, that's going a little too far. How else do you expect most people here to make themselves look good?
  11. I'm crying here, I really am. And it's good that you reminded us that we're reading your opinion, otherwise we might get the idea you're secure with it. Shawn v Angle was good, but it wasn't great. While both men worked hard, it came off more as a collection of spots and moves rather than any kind of epic wrestling match, which was meant to be the idea behind this series. The major problems I had with it were that Shawn, as usual, all but no-sold the work done on his back when making his big comeback, and the finish, which came off as very hokey, and totally killed the illusion that this was some kind of struggle. The rest of the PPV was ok, but I'm glad I didn't pay to see it, because as good as it was, it wasn't worth the $34.95 ot whatever it was they charged for it.
  12. As previously mentioned, this was to build their house show program, and not for PPV. As the heel, Roma was calling the match, and he gave Wright virtually zero offence. With Wright being the one they were pushing, WCW was unhappy with this, and stopped what little push Roma was getting. I don't think he was blackballed, as much as nobody thought very much of him. He did try getting back into WCW during the Nitro heyday, pitching he and someone else as doing an Italian brothers gimmick, but that got turned down. That was the Marquis of Queensbury cup. It was a series of ten-minute time limit matches with three judges at ringside to render a decision in the event of a draw. I don't know what the point of it was, because it didn't really lead to anything. Flair was put over as the face because he was face at the time, but when the Hogan deal was put together, Flair turned himself heel for that program. It didn't usually happen, no. He was never close, because he would never drop the weight he had put on. He was actually barred from wrestling in New York the New York State Athletic Commission because he was so obese. It wasn't a nationwide ban, but the various athletic commissions typically follow the NYSAC lead, so he wasn't going to be able to wrestle anywhere. Obviously, whatever state was the home of that horrific Heroes Of Wrestling PPV was held had no worries about not following the NYSAC ruling . As for why Hogan would want Yokozuna in, the answer to that one should be obvious.
  13. WCW basically killed Blitzkrieg's passion for wrestling. After having a tremendous match with Juvi to open Spring Stampede, he was almost never seen again, and was in fact out of a job before the year was out. Physically, he's always been in shape, but he doesn't have the heart for it any more. As for Luger, he can walk and talk, but that's it. Forget about him doing anything beyond punches, kicks and stationary clotheslines before he blows up after 30 seconds.
  14. In regarding TV: TNA are looking at the Velocity timeslot Spike want TNA to pay for the time, which apparently was not the case with WGN
  15. Paraphrasing from this weeks Observer: Early in the week, and Indy promoter who deals a lot with TNA and the belt was told Jeff was getting the belt back The feeling was that pretty much everyone, bar Jeff and Jerry, realized now was not the time for that to happen It’s considered clear that Jeff and Jerry are trying to get power back Dave doesn’t yet know for sure what exactly led to Raven getting the NWA belt AJ apparently wasn’t unhappy about dropping the NWA belt so soon, as he wanted to get back into the X-Division Dave feels the current booking committee might push X-Division to be at least on par with the World Title It was reported that Jeff didn’t take the change well, and refused to appear in the main event, and at this point is not planned to be at the next PPV One wrestler in the main event was openly talking to fans about Jeff refusing to do the match over not wanting to lose a King Of The Mountain match Jeff was trying to save face, and was telling fans it was just part of a much larger angle that will make sense Dave thinks it’s not likely to be the case, but will almost certainly be written as such once everything is sorted out Dave speculates that Raven got the nod because with having to change the main event and put Raven into it the best storyline finish was the guy getting “fired” to win, but thinks it more likely he got the belt because he was the option to go with given the circumstances, including that Monty needs to be built up first before getting the belt, and AJ is wanting in the X-Division Raven was going to return anyway, and was going to get a major babyface push, and his title win had nothing to do with the ECW nostalgia going around Also: The company isn’t strong on Jeff Hardy without Matt coming in too, which may or may not happen, and many feel Matt is WWE bound James Gibson was brought in and pitched a deal, which he hasn’t agreed to yet, but is more open to doing so lately, as WWE don’t appear to be signing him back anytime soon, which they had said they would if he would not work for TNA To save time, they did 7 1/2 hours of interview pre-tapes on the Monday before taping, with James Mitchell standing out as really impressive
  16. You mean apart from the fact they've been gutted of their best names? You mean apart from the fact that the potential PPV options they have, while making for good matches, are not that likely to draw a great deal, whereas Brock in the mix would?
  17. He couldn't do the legdrop in April because of his hip, and I don't think the situation has changed.
  18. Under no circumstances should Brock be portrayed as begging or asking for anything. He should demand or take, not ask.
  19. Well that's nice and considering he's 5'7, I wouldn't call that being a midget. Would you? Tom Cruise I think is more underrated then anything. Jamie Foxx gets all the acclaim and the Oscar nod for Collateral, when it was Cruise that carried the movie. The Oprah thing was a bitch much, and I don't like that he's overshadowed his movie, but I don't think he's gone insane or anything. His religion has always caused him to be a bit out there. Her professional life is declining, yes. But if she's happy with Cruise- who are you to judge and say she's going to suffer? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I always considered him short, because he was with Kidman for so long, and she's so much taller than him, and I don't think I've ever seen him with a woman who wasn't taller than him. I've not yet seen Collateral so I'll reserve comment how he was in that film, but everything else I've seen him he's come across like he's playing a role rather than being the role. I've never been able to take him seriously in anything. Well, considering there were some reports that Holmes hasn't been as talkative, shall we say, with her friends since hooking up with Cruise, then I'd say she could be suffering. Not to mention that when their relationship breaks up, and I have no doubt that it will because I don't think it's love at all, she'll look back on what surrounded their relationship and cringe.
  20. I'm not a fan of the world's tallest midget. I think his acting is ropey at best, his belief system is a joke, and lately it looks like he's losing what's left of his sanity. I'm not that big on Katie Holmes either, but she needs to get as far away from the little twerp as possible or her personal and professional life will suffer greatly.
  21. I get that too. All I get is the player displaying "Loading", and then nothing happens for a long time and I have to shut the player down. Very annoying.
  22. Lesnar has to start at the top or there is no point in bringing him back at all. He has to be mixing with the top guys from the very beginning, and only the top guys, or whatever money can be made from bringing him back, and there is plenty to be made, will get flushed down the toilet.
  23. The best thing about Lesnar being away for so long is that he is fresh again. He’s been gone for long enough that Lesnar v Guerrero, Benoit, Angle, Jericho, or whoever is going feel like something different and exciting, which is exactly what WWE needs right now. If Lesnar is brought back, and it looks like he will at this point, they absolutely must not ‘humble’ him or ‘put him in his place’. That kind of petty bullshit has to be put aside for the good of business. Lesnar should be brought back right at the top of the mix on whatever brand he is put on, and kept strong and protected for the first few months of his stay. He can’t do anything funny, silly, goofy or comedic; he needs to be presented as a legitimate badass. The people would buy that, because it’s the truth, and anyone with a brain can see that. He, and I cannot emphasis this enough, must not do any jobs for a really long time. Lesnar must win his matches in a decisive manner, that leaves people with no doubt that he was the better man. This means no gimmickry bullshit like visionary falls. The people cannot be left thinking that Lesnar cheated to win or got a victory he did not deserve. He doesn’t have to squash everyone, though his first few matches have to be Lesnar getting totally dominating wins, but he must be shown to be physically dominant and he must not shown to be the one physically dominated. And for the love of whatever deity, if any, you believe in, it must not be inferred in any way, shape or form, in even the smallest degree, that Lesnar wasn’t good enough for the NFL. Whether it’s true or not, the last thing this deal needs is it being portrayed as WWE getting the NFL’s scraps. However it gets presented, it has to be made clear that Lesnar chose WWE over the NFL because he felt WWE was above the NFL. Again, whether true or not, WWE has be presented as being superior to NFL in this situation, to whatever degree, so that WWE is not seen as secondary to the NFL.
  24. How about a powerbomb, but as he drops them, Show falls with them and winds up headbutting his victim in the groin?
