  1. George Scott was indeed booking around 1985-1988 time, as he was behind getting Ricky Steamboat in, having been a big of his dating back to when he was booker of Mid-Atlantic.
  2. That'll put asses in the seats it put my ass in a WCW seat. How is WCW doing these days ?
  3. Nope, it was all down to Shawn. It might have had something to do with a screw up in their Summerslam match, which saw Shawn throw one of his temper tantrums, albeit a minor one. It could be that Shawn was trying to dick around with Vader, in some sort of attempt at 'getting back' at him for the mistake.
  4. Vader was meant to get the WWF belt at Survivor Series in 1996. He was meant to be in the Sid spot of the Sid-Shawn-Sid WWF Title change program, but Shawn had it changed for some reason.
  5. WWE can then milk the popularity of Star Wars by buying one of those Darth Vader voice distortion things and have Lita wear it. Imagine Darth Vader lisping and talking like a hick chick. "Matt, you were the father."
  6. Maybe they'll have Lita screw it up on purpose, hit herself with the fireball, so she'll be the one who has to wear the mask.
  7. Buff only had the superstar look, not the superstar talent.
  8. Billy Gunn was only ever over when Road Dogg was at his side to make up for his total lack of charisma and personality.
  9. I've got a better question; who'll translate it ?
  10. I wouldn't trust Lita to throw a baseball, let alone a fireball. It'd be like Hogan at Halloween Havoc in '98.
  11. I guess they could have Edge insert himself into the HIAC match via his MITB contract, surprise people by having him beat Triple H for the belt (so that Batista's first big singles loss is handed to him by Triple H), and have Batista get the belt back some time after, possibly at Summerslam, before finally dropping it back to Triple H.
  12. I don't know when the first switch would happen, or even if it would happen at all. I just have this feeling that Triple H won't get the belt back from Batista, and they'll save his first win over Batista for a later date.
  13. Interesting choice of phrase. I think Edge might be the letterbox between Batista and Triple H. For some reason, I don't see Triple H beating Batista for the belt. I think it'll turn out like it did last year, when the World belt went from Benoit to Orton to Triple H, except it'll be intended this time.
  14. They didn't have the talent, but Billy Gunn and Test spring to mind. They were given numerous chances and failed to make it big. Lex Luger has to qualify based on the Lex Express fiasco. The most expensive push in WWF history, and he still couldn't get over.
  15. I've never once said Vince did nothing to fix problems. I just think he could, not only do more, but step in and try and stop problems from reaching such a critical point. Yes, he's done a lot for some wrestlers, and I won't and never have said otherwise. But let's not forget that he didn't seem to have a problem with Tully Blanchard snorting coke until Tully wanted to leave, not to mention that Razor Ramon's suspension for drug use just happened to come on the very same day he gave notice.
  16. Yes, when the problem for a wrestler has hit a low point, he might act. How about doing something to stop that low point from happening in the first place ? Well that just makes him Joe Innocent then. He's just about the only one for the vast majority of US wrestlers who want to wrestle and earn a comfortable living. For drug use, those in charge of WCW deserve blame too, for perpetuating the same sort of atmosphere and business model. As for ECW, their drug problems were legendary. Not to mentiong that not many ECW wrestlers came close to making comfortable living, and many of them came out in tremendous debt. Many of whom pay peanuts, almost literally. The vast majority of wrestlers in the world have to have second job, not in wrestling. Even WWE guys at times have had to take outside jobs to make ends meet.
  17. When wrestlers have to take potentially dangerous chemical aids to, not only make it through the insane schedule wrestlers have, but also to attain the physique necessary to gain a top spot, or any kind of real spot, who else is to blame but the man in charge who maintains a business structure where those kinds of risks have to be taken to succeed ? Yes, the wrestlers know the risks involved when it comes to being in the WWF/E, but with them being the only game in town, and the only way for the vast majority of wrestlers to earn a living without having to take a second or third job, is it really necessary to keep up that kind of business model ? If you want to assign further blame, how about giving some to the fans, who demand the kind of super human physiques from wrestlers that again can't be achieved by most without chemical aid. Is Vince solely to blame for these deaths ? No, and the program never said that. But he sure as heck deserves his share of the blame, for perpetuating a promotion and schedule that does nothing at all to discourage drug use.
  18. Another amusing note was Fat Ass Madden taking the program the task for saying McMahon caused the deaths of all the wrestlers that it talked about. The only problem was the program never made any such claim.
  19. You aren't even close to right on anything. Funaki never worked for ECW. The Japanese wrestlers who worked for ECW were from the Michinoku Pro group in Japan, three of whom made up part of the Kaientai DX group there, which had nothing officially to do with the later WWF version, even though it had the same members with the Kaientai name not even being the first name the group had. Gran Hamada never wrestled at Cyberslam '98, and there was no Japanese six-man on the card. There weren't even any Japanese wrestlers on the card. The MPW six-mans that were in ECW were Sasuke/Hamada/Naniwa v Michinoku/Togo/Teioh, and Sasuke/Hamada/Yakushiji v Michinoku/Togo/Teioh, the first being at a taping in February of 1997, and the second being at Barely Legal.
  20. Quite a bit. Hope always sprung eternal. -=Mike How much is a quite a bit ? A few years ? A few months ? What PPV's did you watch ?
  21. How much ECW have you actually watched anyway ?
  22. I don't know how anyone can credibly call ECW, at least from 1994-1998 crap. After that, things noticably sank for sure. But for a good few years, ECW put out a strong product.
  23. They had them on screen together during a backstage segment. Edge confronted Lita and Victoria, and Vic mouthed off at him.
