  1. It was a worked shoot.
  2. The drug addict Jarret was talking about was Road Dogg.
  3. I think the best he'll get, not that it's even likely, is as someone they'll plug into the main event when they need an extra body. When they do another Elimination Chamber, he'll probably be there to make up the numbers.
  4. He'll main event one eventually. One of these days they'll finally get around to the Orton v Hunter main event that they've had planned for two WM's in a row so far.
  5. Cena and JBL can fight over the title for the next few months, while Eddie can go after the US Title, but with Chavo in his ear telling him that he should be going after the WWE Title instead. By the time Cena v JBL gets blown off, the Eddie angle can be climaxed with a heel turn or him seeing through Chavo, and then they can go with Eddie v Cena.
  6. And when you refer to Eddie being put in the title picture, how do you mean? As in, how would they build to it? Would they be initially hostile, friendly, competitive? When would they first face for the title? When would it be blown off? Same as what Dark Age proposed? I think they'll use Eddie's big win at WM as a way to put Eddie in the title picture. Maybe even use Chavo to get in Eddie's ear again, telling him that he stole the show at Wrestlemania, so he should get a title shot. If Cena and JBL are kept together post-WM, then they can use this time to tease an Eddie heel turn, and conclude with either Eddie going heel or finally seeing through Chavo, and somehow using that to seque into an Eddie v Cena program.
  7. The problem with that theory is that JBL is a Vince favorite, so he's probably not going down the card, and is likely to be kept in the title picture. JBL might not be Cena's main opponent post-WM, but he'll be one of his opponents. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the JBL v Cena feud lasts way past Wrestlemania.
  8. The first part: Jarrett had convinced Vince that he (Jarrett) was hitting his prime, and now was the time to push him as a star. The second part: Jarrett, in what would become a career pattern, wasn't getting over a lick, so they tried to reinvent him in an attempt to try and get him over.
  9. If they want to keep Cena and JBL's feud going past WM, they don't have to do anything that night. They can have Cena get his big win, walk out of WM a big star, and then have JBL lay him out a Smackdown or two later.
  10. Cena as champ need not be programmed against a strong heel, as much as a strong personality, either heel or face. Cena is pretty shallow character wise, and whoever he faces post-WM needs to strong enough and deep enough to help cover Cena's weaknesses. I think Eddie will beat Rey, which will be used to put Eddie in the title picture, and that with JBL going after his title, they'll have enough to cover for what Cena lacks.
  11. As far as I know, Eddie isn't turning heel. If Cena wins the WWE Title, which seems the more likely result of the Cena v JBL match, then Eddie can play subtle heel against Cena, as I expect Eddie beat Rey and them to use that to springboard Eddie into the WWE Title picture.
  12. As I've said in other threads, Hunter will do it, because it'll give him a lot of political capital when it comes to future jobs he's asked to do. By doing the clean job in two Wrestlemania main events in a row, he's setting himself up for a lengthy run of Wrestlemania main event wins. He's going to be in the main event of every Wrestlemania from now until the day he dies, and he knows that by winning all of them he'd get so much heat that it wouldn't be funny. So, he does a couple of losses in a row now, so down the road he can make the argument that he should win the rest of his main events, and point to the fact that did the job for two main events in a row to bolster his case. It's really quite brilliant.
  13. He attacked me first, I was just responding to his unprovoked attack. I meant everything I said. I honestly believe that HHH is going to win on Sunday and I was just expressing that. If he disagrees, he should find a better way to express that. You seem to be a little paranoid. I wasn't attacking you. I was responding at what I can only guess was some lame attempt at being funny, with your remark about Batista's suits, something that I've never referred to whenever I've talked about him. And I've found better ways to express my views on the misguided opinion that Triple H is going to win. I just save that sort of thing for a debate with people who matter, and use people like you to amuse myself. I am now amused, so you may go about your daily business.
  14. blah blah blah Don't be try and be a smartass. You're only halfway there, and you've got the wrong end of the act down as it is.
  15. Are people so thrown by Hunter truly putting someone over, that they lose all ability to think rationally and coherently ?
  16. I don't recall any IWGP Title defences in WCW. I know the tag titles were defended their once, but that was only because the Steiners had them at the time, and had nothing to do with the how prestigious the title were. If New Japan wanted one of their guys to get a run with the NWA Title, it would have made some sort of headlines on the usual Puro sites, and nothing like that ever came up.
  17. When was the Triple Crown ever recognized outside of Japan ? Neither the TC or IWGP Titles have ever been defended outside of Japan. If New Japan felt the NWA Title had any prestige to it, they would have made a play for one of their guys to get a run with it. The NWA Title is, or was, held in very high esteem in Japan, and if New Japan felt the belt was still worth it, they absolutely would have made a play for it.
  18. I would have had the PPV ready to stop the moment Owen was in the back, and the second I'd heard Owen had died, I'd have stopped in right away. Whether I would have had to refund the ticket money or PPV money or not, and I'd have dealt with that with some kind of make good offer, there are times when morality and ethics should be put before monetary loss, and this is one of them.
  19. Maybe because they're really putting someone over Hunter this time. I know the idea of someone actually being put over Hunter, and in the right manner, is literally mindblowing, but it shouldn't distract from should be obvious, that being Batista is winning.
  20. It should be pointed out that the fans in attendance were never told Owen had died. As for the 'point' of stopping it when they got word Owen had died, how about showing respect to the guy who just died ?
  21. Unless they've lost their minds, Batista is winning at Wrestlemania. Any other result would be stupid.
  22. For newer fans, aware of both products, the ROH has more prestige, because it's both being booked far better than the NWA Title, and it isn't a vanity belt for the owner of the promotion. I'd say the older the fan, and the more they've seen of the NWA pre-1990, the more they would tend to value the NWA Title over the ROH Title. However, if you want to see how prestigious both titles are seen by other promotions, at least overseas ones, I will once again point out that New Japan were willing pay a lot of money for Hiroshi Tanahsahi to get a run with the ROH Title. They had no such designs for trying to pay for one of their guys to get an NWA Title run, and we're not talking about some minor promotion; New Japan has long links with the NWA and the NWA Title, and the fact that they were willing to pay for one of their guys to get a run with the ROH Title but not the NWA Title, shows you which belt means more to them. It should be pointed out that all 'World' Title are no more than company titles as, with rare exceptions, nobody outside of a particular company holds their version of the 'World' Title.
  23. They could have, and should have, cancelled it when they got word Owen was dead. At that point, they only had a couple of matches to go, so it's not like fans there could try and say that hadn't seen much of anything.
  24. WM 6 was always going to be Hogan v Warrior, since at least from when Warrior got the IC Title. Hogan v Warror II was meant to headline WM 7, but Warrior failed to get over to the degree needed, so they changed plans.
  25. Translation: Hogan wanted to win, but Vince didn't agree. Last I heard Hassan was going to get involved with Austin and Piper, so chances are this is Hogan working his own angle, and bears no relation to current plans.
