  1. Yes, he's the guy who went crying to John Laurinaitis when the retired 150lb wrestling manager slapped him a few times. Wasn't the problem that Cornette did it in front of other wrestlers and staffers backstage? The problem was that Cornette did it at all. Cornette shouldn't have slapped Carelli, but when the first thing the guys does afterwards is to go crying to management rather than at least trying to sort things out face to face, it just makes him look like a total pussy.

  4. 3.6 That is not a good number coming out of a PPV.

  6. The WWF was going to give him a World title anyway, so why not do it now instead of waiting. Because they don't have to and it might be too soon. They want Kennedy to succeed and the last thing they should do is rush the World title on to him before he's ready and the audience is primed to accept it. The cage match will likely end with Batista winning and likely, if Vince is panicked enough, Mark Henry showing up to segue into the next big feud. Though if Undertaker is able to go in, he'll win the match and we'll probably see him win and then they'll rematch at JD with the Hell in a Cell.
  7. Calling either of the ICP 'a good wrestler' is a stretch if ever there was one.
  8. Detailed spoilers from PWI, and some of it...
  9. If he's out for six to eight months, then he could be back in time to return at the Rumble. He'd make a great mystery entrant. sounds a little like what HHH did And if they push it like they did with Hunter's return from injury, something I don't think they've done for someone since Hunter, it might do the same kind of big business.

  11. I like Kennedy but to me that screams of the night that Bischoff handed HHH the world title. HHH didn't do anything to warrant a title shot let alone being given a world title. Kennedy did win the MITB which means he did earn a chance at the title. I think it makes him look pretty clever to find a way to exploit the MITB opportunity so that he can get the title without having to beat anyone.
  12. How about Undertaker vacates the title due to injury. Teddy Long announces a tournament will take place for the title and shows the bracketing. Before he can leave, Kennedy comes out and says he's cashing in his MITB title shot. Long says he can't because there is no champion. Kennedy says the MITB privilege grants him a chance at the title but doesn't say he has to actually beat someone for the title. Long is forced to agree, because Kennedy is technically correct, and because the title is vacant, Kennedy 'wins by default' and is declared the new World champion. The tournament can then be for first crack at Kennedy.
  13. I'm thinking they're going with Cena/Khali at JD because they've got, at least for the moment, Undertaker/Batista in a Hell in a Cell match as the main event, and can afford to put what is sure to be a sub-par match as the semi. It gives them the chance to hold off on Cena/Michaels III for a little longer.
  14. More from Meltzer: If Undertaker can somehow gut it out until the PPV, I can see him either dropping the belt to Batista or beating Batista and then Kennedy cashes in his MITB title shot and getting the belt instead. If Undertaker can't even drop the belt in the ring, it'll be interesting to see how they get the belt off him and who ends up getting it.
  15. Full spoilers, at least what happened in front of people, are now up.
  16. Have they even mentioned the IC title at all since 'the fan' won the belt? That angle went nowhere, fast.
  17. Backlash was a pretty good show overall but the two top matches really made it great. Batista-Undertaker was another good brawl between the two. While I can understand some people not liking the non-finish, it was necessary in order to extend the program, with Melter saying in his latest update is set to headline next month's PPV. The main event was great, and the booking and execution of the finish was top-notch and all four wrestlers deserve credit for hitting everything perfectly and not messing anything up. Edge gets to lay out Orton, Cena gets to lay out Edge, Shawn gets to lay out Cena, but Cena manages to still retain the title. The only one of the four who didn't look strong in the finish was Orton, which was expected. Did he even get to hit the RKO at all during the match? It builds up to Cena/Shawn III, which I have no problem with in terms of the match, which should be good, but there is the looming shadow of Hunter returning; if Shawn does win the WWE Title, which could happen, you know it'll just segue into Shawn vs. Hunter Part 657, and it wasn't that good of a feud the last two times. The only thing I really hated about Backlash was Vince making himself ECW Champion. It's not exactly been made to seem important to begin with, but Vince getting the belt just means another screwy decision, either Vince losing in a screwjob or more likely him just vacating the belt, is probably on the horizon and that's not what you should be doing to a title that is, theoretically, meant to be of great importance. After all, if the ECW title is made to look like a joke, why should anyone care if Lashley or anyone else chases after it? It makes any feud involving the title seem no big deal. Maybe they'll salvage things with Lashley vowing to get back his title and Vince acting all arrogant that Lashley will never be ECW Champion again. Whatever they do, they can't treat the title has more of a joke, or it serves no purpose and makes Lashley's quest to get the title back look unimportant.
  18. They probably wanted Flair to teach Orton the finer points of penis twirling.
  19. I didn't say marks don't have access to the news. Just that casual fans don't usually seek it out. They're called casual fans for a reason. They tune in on Monday or Friday, watch the show, turn off, and then go do something else. Sure, you'll have a small percentage who are either eager for more information or just flat out curious, but for the majority of the casual audience, they're satisfied with what they get on TV.
  20. It's not the number of casual fans that have internet access, it's how many of them care enough to visit any wrestling news sites. For the vast majority of the casual fans, their interest in wrestling begins and ends with Raw or Smackdown. They don't care about it enough to seek out more information.
  21. My thoughts exactly, it's been a while since WWE put out a huge shock, nobody in the world buys Orton winning tonight. Orton over Edge. Why shock people just to shock them, or just to make a tiny percentage of your audience 'look dumb', with no thought about how it effects business? Nobody buys Orton winning tonight because nobody buys Orton as WWE Champion. Even if Orton's behavior was common knowledge, and it isn't unless you go online so I'm thinking maybe 10%, if that, of WWE fans have any idea what Orton did, it wouldn't make much difference of their opinion of Orton's chances to win the belt because they don't exactly have a high opinion of him to begin with and don't think him WWE Title material anyway. If someone is going to play heel champion, it'll likely be Edge, because he's a proven commodity as far as being a strong heel champion and he gets a consistent heel reaction. Even assuming the Orton hotel deal is a work, and why someone would hope it is just so that a few thousand people can be fooled is beyond me, Edge being the heel champion makes more storyline sense anyway. He's got established issues and history with all three of other participants.
