  1. Count me in on the four years crowd. Also, now that Inc mentioned it, what the hell was that girl-board a bunch of us went after a few years back? Cherry something or other?
  2. When HeldDOWN~! returns, a graphic in the right hand corner of the screen reading "earlier in the week" let's us know that we haven't returned to live action. Instead we come back to JOSH MATTHEWS~!, who tells us why we're watching this days old footage. JOSH Welcome back fans. I know you're joining us on HeldDOWN, and this particular segment is being taped for the broadcast you're currently watching. We're on location at one of the OAOAST house show stops, and tonight we have two men who have taken the time out of their busy schedule to give us their feelings on their upcoming Anglemania match. With me now are Johnny Jax and Scotty Static, aka the Global Party Exchange, who are part of the first ever Two For The Money match. The HI-YAH Heavyweight Title will hang above the ring, along with a contract for a future OAOAST World Title shot, and the only way to get both of those prizes is by climbing a ladder. Scotty, Johnny, what do you think about your inclusion in this amazing match? *The camera pans back to show the GPX sitting in two of the arena seats. Jax is leaning forward and smirking, while Static is laying back with his hands behind his head and his feet propped up on the seat in front of him.* JAX What do we think...boy Josh, you're really hitting us with the hardball questions tonight, huh? What do you mean what do we think? We're in a match where the winner holds one title, and gets a shot at another. How could we not be grateful for something like that! STATIC Seriously, J. Math, everyone in this match has got to be happy about it to one extent or another, even the glory boy himself, Zack Malibu. JAX For real. STATIC Seriously, I mean, so what if it's his title on the line? He's gonna be in a marquee matchup, a first time ever one, one that's guaranteed to entertain and get the ratings police ready to cream in their skivvies, and do you know why? JOSH Because he's one of the best competitors the wrestling world has ever seen? *The GPX break down laughing. Jax is even feigning tears.* JAX Damn dog, what happened to unbiased journalism? STATIC Seriously! JAX Man, alright, you know what, forget Zack. Forget we ever mentioned him. Let's talk about two more people in that match. Let's talk about our old buddies James Blonde and Faqu. STATIC Faqu! I get it! I get it! JOSH James Blonde and Faqu, they've definitely molded themselves into a great tag team, with their biggest win to date coming at the expense of you two back last month at Zero Hour. STATIC Now hang on, Matthews, before you go down that road. Yeah, yeah they did beat us at Zero Hour, and then what? Where was the followup? There was none, because right after Zero Hour, off they went, back to Japan for HI-YAH. The GPX still haven't gotten their rematch from that. We lost that night, yeah, but let me tell you something...everyone has their day. One match does not make a man, or in this case, a team. Two guys with joke names that think because they went overseas and came back and can hit harder, or can be all "look at the fat man fly" makes them a force? Please. There is only one tag team that has been consistently great in this company, and they're the two men sitting with you right now. Blonde and Faqu, they're bottom of the barrell. They don't hold a candle to us, and at Anglemania in the Two For The Money match, we'll finally get our hands on them again. JOSH While that last part might be true, you've got to keep in mind that this isn't a tag team or group effort. In fact, Two For The Money could come down to the two of you on the same ladder, struggling to capture the prize. JAX And if it comes down to that, then let it. You think we're worried about giving each other competition? We're the best at what we do, but more than that, we're a family. Just like how our boy Jamie O'Hara is in that match too. You've got three Upstarts, three men ready and willing to risk life and limb to make sure that Zack Malibu doesn't get his moment in the sun, or that Blonde and Faqu get a win and get their egos inflated anymore than they already are. STATIC My man Johnny J hit the nail on the head, for real. We know that the OAOAST did it to try and put some cracks in The Upstarts. Set us all on the same path and see who breaks. Ain't gonna work, because all we're gonna do is take out your hero, and your flavor of the month tag team, and leave it to the GPX and Jamie O'Hara. Then we'll put on a show that the world will never forget, and whoever manages to have the magic moment and get to the top of the ladder first, then good for him, because all that means is that the belt is back where it belongs, around the waist of an Upstart, someone who deserves to have the spotlight put on them for once. JOSH It will be interesting to see if your prophecy comes true on April 2nd. The Two For The Money match is just another can't miss portion of Anglemania V. This is Josh Matthews signing off, and now let's get you back to live action, on HeldDOWN~!
  3. "You're mother puts license plates in your underwear? How do you sit?"
  4. Have you seen some of those reported salaries? Strong would likely make an equivalent amount, or more, between TNA/ROH/FIP and other indy dates than he would in WWE.
  5. ...and that's a shoot, brotha.
  6. If I was on what?
  7. Bill Cosby must be pissed.
  8. Paid for by Clique B.
  9. I saw a truck with that too, with a blue sack for some reason. I don't know if it implied blueballs or if the driver just really liked the color. Is this some new weird trend, to hook up cars with genetalia?
  10. ...you want us to ask him twice?
  11. Eh, I've said my part. What's done is done.
  12. Hey, this post doesn't belong in Hardcore Discussion. It's too mature! There's no need for some huge rebuttal, since Czech hit it pretty much spot on. Nearly all the people involved post at both boards as it is, so that's a huge reason why this stuff has carried over to both places...it just became dramatic overflow. It's actually very similar to when the *original* Tiffani deal got out of hand and I yanked the rug out from under it before someone had a meltdown. Czech's just cutting off the snakes head to put the thing to rest. I highly doubt this will lead to some Ebony and Ivory live together in perfect harmony (go ahead, make a Lushus joke) moment between certain posters involved in this, but I give Czech a lot of credit for speaking up about it. Much like he said about me, I've never had a problem with him (IIRC, it was Czech who took my screen name from one of the chats and started IMing me for a time, so he couldn't hate me that much) and we'll just chalk it up to the randomness getting out of hand.
  13. A gimmick's gimmick? Yet it's The Pit who stretches for humor? Yawn.
  14. I feel the same way, such as how it was with Frigid coming back to be The 70's Dude, not to mention he was/is doing SWF work as well just like I was up until recently. I can easily co-exist, however if someone is being a complete ass elsewhere and using this place as bait for an argument, I think it's stupid. That's my stance on NYU. Him being back didn't bother me so much as that he wants to be back, told you one thing, yet still acts like a smarmy bastard. If the latter ceased, or never happened in the first place, this conversation wouldn't have gone on as much as it has. If he wants to be back, he needs to decide if he's mature enough to handle what comes with being back, namely showing a semblance of respect towards me. I've not so much as uttered the kids name until you told me what was going down, Tony (and then his non-OAOAST followups to try and look cool). If he wants to write here, someone not named Adam needs to break it to him that he needs to live up to his words. That's my only concern.
  15. Nobody forced him out. He quit with no explanation, and cried foul after the fact. We went over that a year ago. My issue lies within Tony telling me "he'd like back in and to patch things up", while simultaneously going off on other parts of this board acting like a cocky twat. That's two-facing at it's finest. I might have been open to suggestion had I thought he was sincere. It's nothing something out of the question, since I did it with Hoff not that long ago, even going so far as to write him into my segment because he asked that I help build up his return. I did so with no issue or ill intent. But I'll be damned if I'm going to be nice to someone who's faking his way through it. You, much like him, simply point the finger at me and say "there's the bad guy". So who is the lost cause? Also, notice how the people taking issue with the way things are "run" can be counted on one hand. And when it comes to certain matters at hand, such as this apparent attempt at a "shoot", I'm glad that everyone agreed on it, because it's more drama, quite unnecessary at that, that is taking place on a platform given to FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. If "Rob" has a problem with me, then that's all fine and dandy, but "Drek Stone" does not, therefore it has no place on the written HeldDOWN show.
  16. Well, if either, or both of you, want to work something with the tourney, then it's fine by me. But like I said if it infringes on any plans don't try to cram too much onto your plate. I suppose I could put the GPX and maybe the secondaries (Blonde, Faqu) in the brackets as well, unless we're more stocked with writers at the time. Maybe something like Popick, O'Hara, whoever from the SWF, one of EWC's guys, Reject, etc. if we need to look at some of the "alternate" roster as well. We've got time.
  17. Also, let's take a look at this week's booking thread. Now wasn't it a unanimous call quite some time ago that we wouldn't do any out of character shoot bullshit on the shows? Look at what Mr. NYU is claiming he'll do this week. That's something that goes against everyone's opinion. If he's got an issue, he can PM it to all of us, you, me, you can post it here, whatever. But it does not belong on a show, and we ALL made that call. That's nothing but instigation. I haven't even referred to him in character on the show, and there has been no character interaction. So if he's got something to say and "shoot" about, it had better not be posted alongside everyone's character efforts.
  18. Let's dissect this a bit, shall we? If I thought I had some type of "hold" on this place, then I'd be doing a lot more telling and a lot less asking. I'm very fair and open-minded when it comes to all aspects of this place. Some notable scenarios would be the return of Frigid Soul after all his original bs, which is not unlike the NYU b.s. NYU started his baby bull elsewhere on the board, after all I did was comment that I wasn't too cool with him being back, because it's a trust issue. You know why it's a trust issue? Because stupid, immature people like Frigid and NYU take their internet waaaay too seriously, and go and make this place look bad elsewhere. It's their God given right of free speech, but it's also those instances that they do not belong amongst us. I look out for everyone's benefit, or at least try to, but you're blind in your allegiances, so that point will become null and void. I try to keep everything about here contained here, hence why this post is being followed up on in this folder and not in Hardcore Discussion or something. This folder was meant to air any and all grievances, so it looks like it's finally getting put to use. I'm thankful that some people such as Tony or Eski don't have anything to do with what else goes on on this board, because then it'd be nothing but a clusterfuck of finger pointing. The truth of the matter is, your "friend" left this place high and dry without so much as warning, despite the fact that I wrote his character very strongly, including writing him to win a feud that he did all of ONE PROMO for. NYU should have never had a problem with me, because it was never that I pissed over the Drek Stone character. His complaint was that he didn't like a particular storyline, which guess what, all he had to do was say "I don't want in on it" and he could have been free to do whatever he wanted. Note Parka, EWC, or MMOM for several examples. Adam, "hyperbole" doesn't even begin to describe your second portion. MY WHOLE WORLD IS FALLING DOWN AROUND ME? Jesus Christ man, once again I think you boys take your internet way too seriously. Not to mention you try to make yourselves sound like James Fucking Bond with the "I know what's going on, I was at The Pit!", as if you witnessed a major drug deal take place while you hid in the corner of a dive bar. Coping? What do I have to cope with? The two main people who are cunty (Leena and Czech) are not people I ever seriously interacted with. If Popick suddenly got a bug up his ass and began calling me out for a reason, I might get upset. You know why? Because Popick is a true friend, as much as one can be without living a block away or meeting you at the bar for a drink. Same with Patty. Or Lushus and Carnival, to use a few non-OAOAST members. My life is not shattered in the least because a few people who I recognize only by a screen name decided that they don't like me. I must have missed the part where I needed to impress them. I'm an individual quite comfortable in his everyday life, with a tight family and even tighter social circle. I could care less about the opinions of the faceless masses. I am who I am and if you don't like me, then sorry, but I don't change for anyone. I also enjoy how you missed the point of what KC and myself pointed out: That you haven't done squat. While you took your time out to try and analyze me, you could have been writing up a promo or a match for HeldDOWN. Manage your time wisely. You know how this whole thing got blown out of proportion? By NYU saying "yes" to an angle he didn't have his heart set on. If he was honest in the beginning, than the bullshit from a year ago that has caught up with us yet again would have never happened. I'm brutally honest to people's face, so I don't see why someone can't do it thru a computer screen.
  19. Awesome.
  20. Well by strongarm I meant that they somehow get their way into the tourney by taking someone out, beating someone, etc. Like how Angle got into the Rumble last year by punking Nunzio and taking his spot. Tony, I didn't mean a Black T breakup, just some tense moments. A tease of a split. But if you've got plans then by all means run with those.
  21. PK makes a valid point. We could do the injury angle (maybe even make the announcement at Anglemania to make it more of a shocker for the night) and then do something post-AM with it. The SWF people I've talked with will be debuting around that time, so planning a post-AM tourney and having one of them strongarm their way into it before an SWF/Popick final is an idea I'd think is plausible. Thoughts? Also, what about Dan Black? We did want him to gun for the World Title, why not have him in the X scene? Maybe have some of that tension in Black T where he tells Tony that he won the World Title without worrying much about the team as a whole, so why can't he do the same with the X belt?
